THE MOON WAS STILL FULL IN THE SKY when Austin pulled over in front of an old building located somewhere around the outskirt of the town. It was Kol first house, the house nobody had fine to for ages. He had built that house many centuries ago: even before he became a vampire. Kol had always said his legacy began from that house.
Austin and the witches got down from the car. Austin knew Lisa had questions, but he wasn't ready to answer them now.
"Where is this place? , why are we here?" The questions kept rolling in like wide fire.
Lisa knew something was fishy but she just couldn't solve the puzzle. She saw fear in her sisters eye. She couldn't assure them because she was also scared.
"Austin, where on earth are we?" She screamed
"Don't tell me you are scared? You have two of your sisters here to support you"
"I know but I need to know why and where we are" Lisa was being so adamant.
Austin knew he couldn't resist it; he thought of it for a seconds. He knew it was just a matter of time before Lisa find out.
"This is Kol house" He not trying to sound too impress at the shabby building
The look on the witches face had so many meanings- so Austin couldn't place it; their heart were stable like they were prepared for the worst.
"As in- the messenger of evil" He added thinking it might scare them but hell No! They weren't.
Lisa suspicion was right; she knew there was something strange about Austin the other day- the way he demanded for a sleeping portion was so strange. It was like he was been tormented by something greater than him.
And what could be greater than Austin? .... Kol!
She knew how true the myth of the blood moon is- the power to raise the dead. Only that Kol wasn't dead- he was only asleep. So she thought this to be a perfect opportunity of getting rid of the vampire forever.
So Lisa already had a plan- just incase things falls according to her plan.
"No one as been to this house for ages" Lisa said, trying to get Austin attention
"Yea- I seriously can't remember the last time anyone set a foot into that building"
"Really? And why is that? Thought the Olsen was really about family" Lisa said
"Yea.... But Kol was a monster- guess my father had his reasons for putting him away"
"Guess you have yours too- for putting your father away" Lisa said, smiling - and that made Austin frowned
"Didn't bring you here for a chitty chat- let's get to the real reason why you are here" Austin said as he tries to enter the building.
He could feel the energy flowing around the building. He approached the down and tried to pull the knob but a sudden rush of energy repelled him and sent him flying in the air. He landed on the ground beside the witches; who happens to be making jest of him.
"I think your work just began" he murmured with a groan
Lisa and the witches approached the door and began to make preparation. Candles were arranged in a crossed triangle form and a spiral was rolled in between. So the witches joined hands together in unification and began to chant some incarnation.
"Atro leezu oto um bruskzvi-"
They began to chant the spell repeated until the door broke open.
Austin stood metres away from them, he wondered how great magical powers was- the power to bind and unbind, the power to twine an enemy intestine from a far. The witches stand a great threat to the vampires and Austin will do anything in his powers to silent them.
"Can I go in now?" He asked, cracking his bones.
Soon they were in the building- cobwebs had filled everywhere, rats ran everywhere like it was there natural habitat.
Lisa stepped on a glass cup lying helpless on the floor and that yanked Austin.
"Be careful on what you step on" Austin said, looking back "grandpa knows how he left those stuff" he added
"-wait a minute! What do you mean by 'knows'? Don't tell me you are going to resurrect Kol?" Lisa asked sarcastically
Austin merely nodded and that confirmed Lisa suspicion. Everything had been right- her whole damn plan had fallen in place. She immediately did a locating spell. She held hand with one of the witches and they sent a signal to the rest of the witches she had assigned.
Unknown to Austin, things were just about to get real ugly. So he led the witches to the basement- where Kol had been lying peacefully for century.
The witches did there magic as usually and the unbind all form of magic surrounding the basement. Seven coffin laid helplessly with dust covering them. One of them were Kol's.
"And why is there seven coffin?" Lisa asked
"That was the family bed" Austin said, sarcastically
"Family bed? I thought Kol had only your father"
"Oops, the Olsen family is far more bigger than that- Kol had four children, but my father happens to be the youngest"
"Where are the rest?"
"Scattered all over the world" Austin said with a grin
Lisa suddenly realized that killing only Kol would end the vampire race anywhere they were. She feared that the other children of Kol might have raised an army of vampires. She knew the war against the vampires couldn't be stopped but she just couldn't give up trying.
"This is Kol coffin" Austin said, drawing Lisa attention to a black dusty coffin.
"So the devil is in here" Lisa pointed out
"Yea" Kol said as he tries to open the coffin
"The shit as been spelled" he added after several attempts.
Lisa stepped up to the task, she held hand with the two remaining witches and they began to cast a spell on the coffin.
Soon after some minutes, the coffin opened. Austin peeped into the coffin to see Kol body: whose face was bluish. He removed the dagger embedded into Kol chest, he then cut his palm with the dagger and placed his hand above Kol head to let the blood drip into his dry lips.
"He should be awake by now" a witch said
"Yea, he should but his body as been bind- so I need you guys to unbind it"
Lisa signaled the witches, her plan had just began. So the witches joined hands and then began to cast a spell of destruction. The witches are edges closer to their great plan and it was Lisa heart was filled with joy that she could finally revenge the deaths of her ancestors.
Austin wasn't aware of what was happening but he sensed a foul play. He knew something was wrong with the whole spell.
"Why is he not awake?" Austin screamed, but there was no response.
Trusting a witch was a wrong idea but he also had other plans. They are both arch rivals; and you can't make a witch your permanent friend.
It seems the witches were one step ahead of Austin. He had only planned this overnight but the witches had this planned for century. Different witches with different ideas of destroying the vampires- with each ideas documented and passed down from generation to generation. So this wasn't a battle of one- this is a battle against the whole witches factions: living or dead.
"Sca va lo tis kun-"
The spell sent Austin flying. He didn't have the slightest idea that the witches had such a great plan- a plan that surpass his.
Soon other witches had started appearing like a ghost. It was now a battle of the handicap: He was already outnumbered. The witches gathered around Kol coffin and they started the destruction spell again.
Austin began to feel his soul departing him. It was like he would die in a minute. He tried so hard to gain his feet but he just couldn't. The more he tried to fight it, the more gone he was.
"Lo to bra kun ves ksacei zvzcyi"
The witches pronounced a blazing spell. The spell that burnt Kol coffin- Austin watched in distress and he cursed himself silently. He had brought this upon himself- upon the vampires he ever sire- Upon every night creatures the Olsen had reborn. He became so scared for the very first time in his life: so scared that his foolishness had brought the doom of the vamps.
Suddenly to everyone amusement, a humming sound came amidst the fire that burn like hell. Kol stood up and stepped out of the fire.
"Have been to hell and I'm back" he said with a monstrous voice.
Immediately he attacked to witches at the same time, before the witches could utter a word: he had snapped their necks. He pounced on any witches that tries to escape, he suck them dry like a thirsty devil.
"The witches blood still taste sweet as ever" he said with a smirk
It was like the witches spell had no effect on him. His dried fangs had been restored and he was just so unstoppable.
Lisa tried to snap her fingers- but before she could, he had caught her hand. Kol twisted her arm and he broke it. Lisa cried in pain but Kol wasn't moved. She screamed at her loudest pitch, she didn't know what went wrong- her spell had failed her. She was now facing the most deadliest creature in the world- Kol. He gave her a look that sent a signal to her head that this was her last moment: the messenger of death had caught up with her.
Kol opened his mouth wide, with his fangs showing both signs of hunger and thirst.
"Please grandpa" Austin pleaded
Kol paused and gave Austin and awkward look
"Still as weak as your father" Kol said, frowning.
Austin managed to stand on his feet. He looked at the Lisa who was crying in pain. She had become so sweaty- she knew death was already at her door. Her plan had failed- she had failed. She had failed her people- her failure had endanger entire coven, her daughter : so she wept.
Austin held her neck tightly as if he wants to choke her. He moved her inches from Kol; he then raised his eyebrow- and all that was written there was pity.
"Why? Melissa why did you do it?" Austin screamed
"You have lost the right to call me that a long time ago" Lisa said, smiling in pain.
"Mel- even though I had other plans... But you know I won't hurt you. Never!"
"Deceiving me- even in my last moment. Like you did thirty five years ago: deceiving and playing an innocent teenage girl"
"No! I didn't play you. I was only protecting you from my father. So I had to do that to keep to safe"
Melissa, an innocent teenage girl that fell in love with a vampire old enough to be her ancestor. She met Austin at the bar she use to work part time after school hours. She fell for his good looks and charms. Unknown to her that he was a vampire. They dated for three years before Gerrard, Austin father found discovered the relationship.
Gerrard left Austin to date whosoever he wants- not until he discovered that Lisa was a northern witch. So he tried to kill her- but Austin rescued her.
Austin knew he had to cut ties with her to keep her safe from his father wrath. So he took her to the mountains and compelled her to forget about him and any memories they had shared.
But unknown to Austin, the northern witch have great resistance against compellation. His compelling didn't work and she cried that after everything they have shared. Austin tried to compel her to forget about him.
"Enough of the love talk" Kol said interrupting them "time for some judgement"
"Grandpa- please" Austin pleaded "spare her- she could be imprisoned like you did to Elaine"
"So Elaine was truly alive" Lisa said silently
Kol thirst for blood hasn't quench. He wanted something more- witches blood, lycans blood, or even humans blood. So he couldn't resist the smell of the blood flowing through Lisa.
Immediately, he engaged. Sucking her dry as she clutch for her life. Austin stood still- he couldn't do anything. This judgement was from his grandpa: and it supersede his.
When Kol was done with Lisa, he dropped her lifeless body and howled like a mad dog. He then turned to Austin with blood still swimming down his mouth.
"Your lover brought this upon herself"
***
She walked through the dark like a lost puppy- minding her steps to keep a low profile. She look left and right like a thief who is afraid of getting hurt.
She took a cab to the centaury church. She alighted and disguise into the church. She suddenly turned back to check if she was been followed.
She was getting so fed up of the emergency calls. She had her life to live and also her plans to execute. So she entered the church and saw a young man facing the alter and backing her.
So she assumed it must be her dictator for a new life.
"I already told you not to call me for emergency" She said as she approached the creature who was still silent.
"Austin, what is the problem?" She added, but there was still no response.
So she approached the creature and tap his shoulder to make him turn towards her.
"Austin, its you am talking to-' she said with her mouth gaped, as she saw something else.
She screamed immediately. It was Kol, his mouth still bear traces of blood- his face, very pale. She jerked immediately at such awful sight. She tried to aim for the door which seems like a two minute walk.... But now! That same door seems miles away from her.
She ran at her full speed but Kol didn't take a step from where he was. As she approached the door, she saw Austin coming in through that same door. Immediately, she paused. Fear of death began to run beneath her, different thoughts began to cloud her mind. She tried screaming for help but she was sure no one would hear her in that isolated environment: but she had to try her luck.
"Guess you have met my grandfather- Kol!" Austin said as he caught up to her.
"Kol! Same Kol? The messenger of evil- Father of vamps-" she whispered in fear.
"Now lets get to why we are here" Austin said, not ready to beat around the bush.
"I asked you some days ago if Lisa had anything evil installed for me, and you said No!"
"Ye...Yea... She didn't tell me anything. Her daily routine didn't change.... Nothing was suspicious in her activities"
"Really? So you are trying to tell me that you ain't aware that Lisa and some witches planned on killing me and grandpa"
"I swear to you- I don't know. She didn't tell me anything" she said with fear grinding her teeth.
"She is telling the truth" Kol said
"So you were not involved in that deadly mission" Austin asked again
"Trust me, if I was- you would be the first to know"
"Okay then- now that Lisa and those witches are dead, the witches would need a new coven leader. I want you to go for it"
"Lisa is dead?"
"Yea- she broke our deal and she faced the consequences" Austin said, trying to hide his grieve.
The lady cried and cried. Lisa had been so close to her heart, they shared virtually everything together. Not until their believes sway them apart. The believe of entrusting their powers to the ancestors. The legacy Lisa had believe solemnly on; the believe that had killed a lot of witches before her; the believe that had made the witches powerless; the believe that had brought about their destruction.
Now she stood for a change; a change against all those believe. She cried that Lisa had fallen for their ancestors legacy. She then vowed not to make the same mistake: not to make the witches a puppet in moment of war. She was ready to unleash their powers, and make them reach their full potential
