[Catherine's POV]
The night was still young when we left the Razim Kingdom. And now, we were traveling by carriage towards my town.
Charles said that it was safer that way, though slower.
Looking at him sitting in front of me, my eyes wandered to his face. He looked peaceful with closed eyes and at rest face. His lashes were long, complemented by slanting brows. Nose proud and straight and lips thin with angular jaws.
He was really a sight for the eyes, and I could watch him all day.
I wondered what he was thinking.
Was he thinking about Vein?
I felt kind of guilty that Vein targeted him because of me. But then again, I was probably a bitch because I was also happy that he was protecting me on one hand.
"What is it, Catherine?" he asked, voice never failing to set my heart racing.
