I felt Rhazien's grip tighten on my hand. He probably noticed that I was going to flee.
I didn't know if I should breathe easy when the silence barely lasted a second or two before the vampires resumed what they were doing.
Some threw secret glances in my direction, and some outright stared boldly. All sorts of expressions flashed on their faces. Curiosity. Shock. Suspicion. Lust.
Shit.
I cursed again.
I had only been in the Vampire Kingdom for a year, and I was already turning into an unrefined lady –– not that it would help me how to survive being a vampire who still thinks she was human.
Rhazien guided me with ease towards his throne, seated at the center of the room with intricately carved chairs surrounding it. It didn't take a genius to know that those seats were reserved for the high-ranking vampires –– which I wasn't.
