[Catherine's POV]
In the garden where I take most of my day, the sun was glaring high in the sky. The flowers were freshly watered, and dews dropped on the ground creating a peaceful sound that calmed my aching heart.
I could live as long as I was in the shaded areas and avoided direct sunlight. That, at least, put my mind at ease. I was glad to know that I could still walk in the morning, though under the constant protection of the shadow.
And it was not like I could extend my hand and check because Mille and Millie were always by my side. They'd stop me before I could even leave a finger to try it out.
I was not trying it out for fun, though. I just wanted to know what it would feel like. Wanted to see if I'd really burn under the direct sunlight.
