Chapter 8 - Go on a Blind Date!

It was midnight when Calista was finally done with her work. Who works until midnight during a weekend?! This was annoying her so much but she had to endure all of it. She wanted to quit the job but she needed money.

She had to pay off her loans and she had to pay her house rent and she needed money for all of that. It would be great if she had all the money she needed and then she'd quit the job stay at home and enjoy the rest of her life happily.

But that must be her wishful thinking only. She needs to work her ass off, get into a stable position financially so that she could support her family endlessly. That's all she wants. But right now she couldn't help but feel annoyed by the amount of work she has to do.

Right when she was heading back to her place after work, her phone rang. It read "Joanna". Joanna was her best friend. They had known each other for seven years now. Joanna was a really nice lady. She was smart, rich and beautiful. Until this day Calista had no idea how they became friends. But it didn't matter. They both were so close to each other and they were very comfortable being together.

Her mood slightly got better when the person calling her was Joanna. She almost immediately answered the phone. "Hello? "

"Hey Cal! Where are you? Let's meet up! " Joanna spoke as soon as she heard Calista's voice.

"Jo, it's midnight are you sure you want to meet up? " Calista asked. "Of course it's alright now tell me where you are! " Joanna spoke , and Calista immediately shared her whereabouts.

After sometime of walking Calista stopped by a café. It was still open. She entered the café and sat down in one of the tables next to a large ceiling to floor length window.

The view was dreamy. There were still few people who were walking down the street and they were busy with their own things. The sky looked especially pretty today. There were little stars that scattered all over the place and a beautiful full moon shined brightly. It looked very pleasant and soothing to the eye.

After what felt like hours of admiration of the moon a person sat down at the same table as Calista. It was Joanna.

"Cal!" She called out her name and Calista moved her gaze from the moon to Joanna's beautiful face.

"when did you get here? " Calista asked. "Not long ago" Joanna replied.

"So what's up? why did you want to meet up suddenly? " Calista asked without beating around the bush.

" Oh come on! Can't I meet you simply because I just felt like meeting you? Joanna retorted. Calista narrowed her eyes and looked at her suspiciously.

Joanna gave up. After all it was impossible for her to lie because Calista could practically read through her. "Ugh.. It's so annoying that you know me very well!" Joanna complained. It was true. Calista just shook her head and smiled. "So what is it miss? " Calista asked ignoring Joanna's complaints.

"Fine I'll tell you. So I want you to go on a blind date for me!" Joanna said without beating around the bush and she said that putting on a poker face with a serious tone.

".... You want me to do what? " Calista asked her face showing visible confusion.

"Go On A Blind Date For Me" Joanna repeated slowly this time. She saw her best friend's jaw practically dropping to the floor.
