"Are you really sure about this?" Araminta asked Nevaeh, who had a serious look etched on her face as she peered at her.
"Yes." Nevaeh firmly replied with a nod.
"And have you spoken to Lord Engel about it?" Araminta questioned, her eyes intently observing Nevaeh's face, waiting to catch every expression that might flicker through it.
"I—"
"Do not lie, Nevaeh. It'll be of no good to us." Araminta advised, and Nevaeh deflatedly sighed.
"No."
"Then ask him first. I don't want to be in any trouble." Araminta told her matter of factly. The last thing she wanted was to be in the man's bad book.
She turned away and picked up her watering can, and resumed watering the flowers like she had been doing before Nevaeh walked in with her request.
But Nevaeh wasn't giving up as she followed after her. "I'll speak to Engel about it when I'm ready."
