Chapter 1 - Prologue

The planet Krypton

The planet Krypton was at its last moments, Jor-El and his wife Lara had sent their infant son Kal El out of the dying planet and unto a different planet, far far away from their own.

As the rocket was making its distance from the planet, the image of the planet exploding could be seen in the background. While that happened baby Kal El had gone into deep stasis for the long journey ahead.

Now, normally this Is a story that is well known, the pod of baby Kal El makes its way to planet earth, where it lands in Smallville Kansas and is being raised by the Kents.

Only this time something different had happened on its way to the planet, one of the pod's guiding thrusters had malfunctioned, causing it to change course and land in a completely different destination, and in turn, change the course of the history of this reality as it would normally go.

Israel, Outside of Efrat settlement

A young couple was driving back home, their names are Meir and Dalia Jacob.

They were making their way back from the hospital, with Dalia sitting in the back of the car with their newborn daughter, it was supposed to be a happy occasion but in the air was still an air of melancholy. The reason for that was because they originally were supposed to have twins, but sadly one of the twins was stillborn.

It was a boy.

So in order to cheer her up, he had decided to make a detour and go to a spot in the outdoors where only they could appreciate it since it was the site of their first date.

They exited the car and went to that spot, carrying their daughter in the carrying basket. They lower their sleeping daughter to the ground next to the bench they are sitting on, and the husband and wife just embrace each other, while the wife lets out little subs after their shared loss.

"There There, Dalia it is going to be alright, it wasn't your fault, you did everything right."

"I know that in my mind, but deep down I keep feeling like it was my fault, we lost a baby."

"But we have another one to look after, we need to thank HaShem for what we have in our hands now." The husband said to his wife, both of them are nationally religious Jews, so he tried to be consoled by faith and to comfort his wife as well.

Soon her breath had steadied and she stopped crying, she looked at him, her eyes still redden after crying and she said to him, "you're right Meir, but it will take me a while to fully understand it and make my peace with it."

Meir Jacob just kissed his wife on the forehead, looked her in the eyes, and said, "and I'll be here for you every moment of it."

She smiled at him, but it soon faded as they both saw from the corners of their eyes a bright light in the sky approaching them. When they saw it the husband screamed, "missile!" and grabbed both his wife and newborn daughter and dragged them both to hide behind the car while the object had hit the ground near the spot they were a few seconds ago.

They were all huddled together, the newborn was startled awake and started crying, while Meir had held his family close to him in an instinctive effort to protect them. They were waiting for the missile to go off, but after a few minutes, nothing happened.

Meir was a military sapper in his service on the I.D.F and was doing the same thing on his reserve duty, he just so happened to have his equipment in the trunk of the car.

"Call it in, and stay here, don't come out until I'll tell you to." He instructed his wife, who for the most part was doing her best to try and calm down their daughter.

He had put on his protective gear and was getting close to the impact site, but when he had gotten there, he was stunned.

The missile he saw Infront of him was nothing like he ever saw, first of all, it didn't explode, let alone made any crater in its area, it was laying on its side, four mechanical looking landing legs came out and it was not a missile at all. It was a rocket, the most advanced he had ever seen.

-what the hell has Hamas been making lately? - he thought to himself as he was taking closer and closer steps towards it.

But as soon as he had gotten closer, the pod hissed and Meir immediately dropped to the ground and flattened himself, waiting for the charge to go off, but again nothing happened, it was quiet for a second before Meir heard a sound that at first had confused him.

A cooing baby.

At first, he thought it was his own newborn daughter, but then remembered the situation they were in and the distance he was from her, then he heard it again and looked to the source of the sound, and saw that it was the rocket, a hatch opened up and inside of it was a baby, no older then several months it seemed.

He walked closer to the baby all the while thinking, -what the hell?!- as he has gotten closer to it, and the baby had seen his covert face, he started to cry, startled at his appearance.

He quickly took his face gear off and gotten closer to the baby and said, "shshshsh… it's ok, it's ok, you, see?" he smiled at the baby and it seemed to work on the infant.

He reached his hands into the pod and took the baby out of it; he made his way to his wife and newborn daughter. As his wife had heard the sound of his steps getting closer, she sighed in relief and turned towards him, only to see him carrying a baby in blankets of red and blue.

It was not what she expected, but the baby was a beautiful one, eyes so blue it could almost be considered unworldly, raven black hair.

"Meir? What are you...?" but her husband had cut her off by saying, "he was in the rocket. Whatever that thing is, it is not meant to bomb us, definitely not Hamas made." Dalia was now quiet, looking at her husband, and then at the baby in his hands, she saw the boy looking at her and give her a big smile, and she melted at the sight, "and who are you?" she cooed at the smiling baby, and he started to giggle at her.

It was apparent that Dalia have Fullan in love with the baby, and Meir couldn't blame her for that, he himself started to get attached to the little kid, but then they started to hear the sounds of vehicles coming towards them.

"What do you think they will do with him?" Dalia had asked her husband. "I don't know Dalia, this is something we never faced before, but let me handle this."

They then turned around and saw two armored Humvees, and soon enough they had stopped, and two groups of soldiers stepped out of the vehicles.

The man in charge, a staff sergeant by the looks of it, had gotten to Meir and Dalia's location. He saw how Meir was dressed and the mess around them and then looked him in the eyes and said, "brief me on everything."

He had told the staff sergeant everything that happened, but he had left out the fact that the baby was inside of the rocket, if he would have told them, then who knows what they would have to do to him, he did not want them to take that baby away from them.

When he was asked about the baby, he made up a story about him being a nephew from his wife's side that had lost his parents, so now they had become his legal guardians. The staff sergeant gave his condolences and set Meir free to go to be with his family.

After that they all went back to their car and drove off to their home, leaving the rocket behind for the I.D.F to examine.

It was nighttime when they had reached their new home, and all of them were spent. Luckily for them, they had two beds ready for the kids, of course, they had that bed in mind for the twin that was stillborn.

After they had put the kids to sleep, Dalia had looked at her husband and asked, "what are we going to do with that baby? The army will make a background check on him and will find out about your bluff!!"

"Don't worry Dalia, tomorrow I will go to Jerusalem and sort this all out."

"You sure?"

"Positive."

The next day, Meir had driven to Jerusalem to meet up with a friend of his in The Ministry of Interior, he had asked him for a favor since he had saved his life in the army, he was quick to do him that favor, even though he wasn't sure how many laws he violated doing that.

And soon enough, Meir Jacob had the documents for his new son, Juda Jacob, or Yehuda as his Hebrew version of it.

Now he drove back home to his wife and now… two kids.

It has been twelve years since Yehuda was adopted by the Jacob family, he had very loving parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

He was a strong boy, stronger than anyone his age, so his grandfather Mordechai use to say that it was because of his name, that he had shared a name with a great Jewish hero of old, Juda the Maccabee. And soon enough it became his nickname to him, which he didn't like but had let his grandfather call him that.

His family had moved from Efrat to a settlement on the south side of mount Chevron, a quaint little place called Ma'alle Hever.

There he and his family were sheep farmers on Israeli state farming grounds.

He spent his free time taking care of the sheep and playing with the many dogs they had on the premises, but his most favorite thing to do was bask in the sun, strangely enough.

It energized him every time he felt its rays touch his skin, he didn't understand why and once he asked his parents all they had to say was, "it's Hashem's way of telling you he loves you." (a/n btw, for those of you who don't know, Hashem is the Jewish name for God, it literally translates to 'the name', ok back to the story.)

At first, he was willing to accept this, but as time went on, he started to question it more and more, he started to exhibit other abilities.

He could run faster than the dogs, faster than the seep, heck, he could run faster than their trucks.

While it was easy to accept that his abilities were God-given, he had other questions about it when his bar mitzvah had come closer and closer.

Since he was adopted, he was not a born Jew, so he had no real obligation to have it, but if he felt that connection to the religion, he could choose to become fully Jewish and convert.

It was one night that he had finished his chores on the farm, he barely broke a sweat, he sat on his front porch and sighed.

He looked up to the desert night sky and said, "Hashem, I don't know if you are there, but if you are… please listen, please I don't know where I get these powers, or who I really am. All I know is that my family adopted me, I love my Ima and abba, and my sister Dikla, and all my other family members, but if I am going to convert, please… send me a sign."

It was at that moment that the scene around him began to change, instead of the desert he was in, he was now in an empty space, looking at infinite stars and planets, then out of it all, a silhouette of a face appeared.

It was with no discernable features, making it impossible for young Yehuda to make out what exactly he was looking at the being and one question popped into his head, to which he asked, "Hashem?"

The being then answered in a deep voice, "yes young Yehuda, it is one of my names."

He was shocked so he stuttered, "I-I was not sure you actually heard me…"

"I hear everybody, every soul, every sentient being who knows me by one name or another, I hear them all, even those who don't acknowledge my existence, I hear them all."

"Then why would you come and face me when I asked you too? Why not come whenever someone else is praying for you?"

"Not all prayers require my immediate attention, and I always work, in the shadows, I work in ways beyond those of your comprehension."

Yehuda, hearing this had calmed himself a little and asked him, "where do my abilities come from? Did you give them to me? Who were my real parents?"

"Your real parents are Meir and Dalia Jacobs, your biological parents, however, were Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van of the far now destroyed planet Krypton, you are one of the last surviving members of the house of El, your birth name, Kal-El."

This took Yehuda by surprise, he was shocked to the core to find out he was an alien, but in hindsight, he always felt different from his peers, whether it was developmentally, or just plain his physical abilities.

He then asked the being once more, "why was I sent here? Why was I not to stay with my people?"

The being stayed quiet for a moment before replying, "you are destined for great things, in all of your existence, you will accomplish feats of greatness unparalleled by other powerful beings. so, with that in mind, I had guided your pod to the one place that could use your help the most, my land, and the land of my people, Israel."

Yehuda was without words at hearing the being In front of him speak, so he was quiet for a moment before asking, "so what do you want me to do here? How do you want me to better serve you? Do I convert to Judaism? Or do I stay as I am?"

"how you go about it is your choice, for if I will make everyone's decision for them, it will not be their choice at all will it? Now I will leave you to it, you have a lot to process young one, but I expect great things from you."

Then he found himself back on his front porch, looking at seemingly nothing. Then he stretched out, turned on his heels, and decided to tell his parents his decision and tell them his revelation.

A/N so what do you guys think of the story so far? It is my tribute to the late great Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, as a religious Jewish myself, I had always wanted to read a superman story more tethered to his Jewish origins, and when I couldn't find it, I decided to write it.

Please review in the comments, no trolls, and no hate comments, if you don't like the story, it's fine, it's your opinion but you don't have to read it, this is a fanfiction.

Until next time.
