Why?
Why did it have to be them?
Why did have to be on the happiest day of his life?
Just why?
This set of questions kept repeating themselves in Damien's mind over and over again like a broken record.
He watched in horror and terror as his parents were brutally murdered on the TV. Him and the rest of the nation witnessed as the two strongest heroes ever known to humanity were killed by a new supervillain.
He claimed that he was going to kill them and challenged them publicly. At first they didn't respond to his challenges, but then he kidnapped hostages in a bank, threatening to kill them if they didn't appear and that's when they were forced to intervene.
Damien was taken to his Grandparents place to wait for them, and he along with them decided to watch the fight being broadcasted live by the news drones specially made to reduce casualties during a hero fight. Little did he expect the horror that was to ensue.
His dads super strength known to stop even rumbling earthquakes with a single punch, couldn't even reach the new villain.It stopped in mid air 5 meters from his body. Herculio was surprised and tried his hardest to push through the invisible barrier but couldn't. With a mere wave of his hands the villain pushed Herculio back to the walls of the bank where he crashed and hit his head, thereby incapacitating him.
His mom's superspeed known to create gale force winds at her max speed was abruptly stopped when she was 5 meters away from him. In the end she too was thrown like a ragdoll across the room.
The masked man with all black apparel, slowly walked to where his mother lay.
He stopped just 4 meters from her prone body, and with a raise of his hand, her body followed it's command. With a turn of his wrist her body tilted to face upside down and...
He pushed his hand downwards.
*BANG* CRACK*
A loud noise reverberated in the entire first floor of the bank and in the hearts of many around the nation. A sickening crack was heard following the horrifying sound and as it came. Many around the world turned their heads ways from the screens. Parents hid their children as they did not want them to bear witness to something as abominable as this.
The man on the screen wasn't done as he once again lifted his hand, and in the air, floated Damien's mother with her neck twisted at an odd angle. Blood flowing from her Mouth towards her head as she was still upside down. He lifted his hand higher and her body obeyed again. And he again just pushed his hand downwards. And the sounds of bones breaking came again and struck at the hearts of the masses.
He repeated this process two more times.
If the first two were to make sure she died, then these two were him just mutilating her body purposefully.
And once he was done with her he just released his hold on her and she just fell limp to the ground like a sack of potatoes. And he made his approach to Herculio father. His body was lifted up by the masked man and brought closer to him. He was seen leaning in close and whispering something to Herculio's already unconscious body before starting to squeeze. Herculio jolted awake from the pain and attempted to feebly struggle against the grip but was unable to. After a few seconds his body was seen visibly going limp and showing no signs of struggles. As if that wasn't enough, he got the same treatment as his wife. He was turned upside down and slammed headfirst on the alloy laced concrete three times
After the masked man was done with his actions he proceeded to kill each and every one of the hostages. Some by strangulation and some by banging their heads on the floor, and even some of the unlucky ones were beheaded.
After he was done he looked at the camera and waved a bit too cheerfully at the audience at home, and said in the happiest voice he could come up with, " The names Dark Rage, send whoever you want to face me, I fear no one." Then his voice shifted to a deeper tone ," But know this, war is coming to you, you self righteous pieces of shit and we are coming for blood."
And the screen went black leaving a little boy and his grandparents along with the rest of the nation asking the same question.
What the hell just happened?
