Chapter 13 - Get Out Of My Way If You Value Your Life!

"So... you're the bastard child of supreme elder Huanfeng." A soft and quiet voice that whistled through the wind touched Khoru's ears. He looked forward, noticing his opponent had already reached the stage before him.

"I am. And who are you?" Khoru replied. He summoned his Martial Spirits and assumed a stance as his gaze lingered on the person before him.

"I am Yu Xuen, remember my name once I defeat you."

Imposing!

Yu Xuen's cold voice made his words more threatening than intended. He had short light blue hair that just barely reached the top of his icy eyes. His gaze was firm and he eyed Khoru with immense hostility for unknown reasons.

'A wannabe cold-y just like my sister. Hmph.' Khoru was annoyed when he looked at Yu Xuen. He was like the male counterpart of his half-sister, which was quite annoying.

"I only have a few words for you. Get out of my way if you value your life." Khoru said. His tone was chilling and even more hostile than Yu Xuen's. Yu Xuen's expression flickered for a moment just as the crowd did the same.

Arrogant!

They all believed that Khoru's words were filled with arrogance!

Where did he get such confidence? The crowd was so confused as they watched Khoru.

If he wasn't leagues above Yu Xuen, then he might as well not speak at all!

No one wanted to see the illegitimate child of a supreme elder win, much less talk so arrogantly.

"Now, let's fight." Khoru said. He waved his sword towards Yu Xuen as if gesturing for him to come forth.

Yu Xuen understood the gesture and his gaze became cold. He rushed forward with his weapon, which was a halberd that was almost 7 feet tall! Not only was it nearly 7 feet tall, it by no means looked ordinary!

The blade of the halberd was long, shark, and looked like a piece of carved permafrost. It was light icy blue and looked like a crystal as well, not to mention the size of the blade was astonishing.

The halberd gave off a chilling aura that froze the air around it for a split second.

"So that's his Martial Spirit." Khoru muttered to himself as he approached Yu Xuen. His feet flew across the stadium as he weaved his swords through the air like gentle pieces of silk.

"Let's see who's sword art is more superior! Chilling Death Sword Art!" Yu Xuen called out. His halberd glowed with a bright blue light that intensified the coldness coming from the blade. He swung forward with the halberd, sending a dash of freezing cold wind towards Khoru.

"Air Collapsing Yin Yang Sword Art!" Khoru shouted as he attacked with both his blades in tandem. The amazing part about Khoru's sword art was that even if he didn't hit his enemy, if he hit anything else the hits would still connect and lead to the final move.

Each slash he executed dished out waves of yin and yang energies that collided with the various snow slashes that flew at him with lightning speed.

'This guy is tough! No matter, it'll be more exciting to beat him then!' Khoru's lips curled into a devilish smile as he rushed forward. He dodged some attacks and blocked others, while repelling a few every now and then.

Yu Xuen was truly a clever opponent. He kept his distance whilst sending snow slashes at Khoru unceasingly!

Khoru had enough by this point and dash forward with all his strength. His flew forward a few meters, where Yu Xuen remained. He and Yu Xuen suddenly engaged in deadly combat as each weapon flew at dangerous angles that would heavily injure the other party.

He's not holding anything back!

They both realized how serious the fight was and decided not to stand on ceremony.

"Freeze everything and bring upon the Ice Age! Permafrost Slash!" Yu Xuen jumped backward and shouted his lungs out. His halberd glowed even brighter this time and he suddenly slashed it down.

It was as if the halberd had cut space itself; a giant slash made of snow, ice, and chilling wind appeared. It froze all of the air in its path and headed towards Khoru without relenting.

"Your strength is commendable! But this is where you fall!" Yu Xuen said. He didn't watch from afar as the slash hit Khoru, he went up close and tried to attack him at the same time.

'Agh! This guy is annoying!' Khoru felt annoyed when he observed Yu Xuen, but he focused more on the impending destruction heading his way. He jumped into the air and met with the terrifying spawn of frost.

He then executed the last stroke of his sword art and sent bountiful amounts of yin and yang energies flying at the slash! The yin and yang energies clashed against the terrifying chill until both attacks canceled each other out.

What?!

They're even in strength?

The crowd couldn't believe what they were seeing, but unfortunately it was true. Khoru was somehow on par with Yu Xuen, who was hailed as one of the most deadly users of ice-type sword arts!

Some of the people claimed it all to be a farce, while others started to finally acknowledge Khoru for more than just his status.

After all, most things were proved through strength.

After each attack was canceled out, Khoru saw in peripheral vision that Yu Xuen had caught up to him. He wanted to block or dodge the hit, but since he was in the air and was falling, he had no force to back him up.

SWOOSH-

A cold wind swept by Khoru as Yu Xuen's halberd sliced at him horizontally. It's destructive power sent Khoru crashing into the stadium.

BOOM-

A small cloud of smoke arose and all fell silent.

The crowd believed Khoru to have had his weak spot taken advantage of and severely injured.

But alas, once the cloud of smoke dissipated, Khoru's being stood unscathed by the previous attack. His gaze was one of wild and primal instinct that would bring fear to his opponent.

Yu Xuen's expression contorted when he noticed this. He atleast expected Khoru to have been injured.

Even just barely!

But apparently it was the contrary.

What happened? Yu Xuen was confused and shocked at the same time.

He didn't like the feeling he felt at the moment. It was one of impending doom, as if he was looking his death in the eyes.
