Chapter 8 - The Mansion

I put my hands on the patterns sheathing the gates as I pushed. The gates that were 30ft tall as if were light as feathers thrust open. The 9 gates opened as if they were Hell's. Welcoming the presence of their ruler. Everyone was stunned. They clapped and called my name. The enchantment broke and my vision cleared. I realised the feat I had pulled off. I regarded it as lucky which everyone believed as the act done by me was inhuman.

We went inside as the gate closed. I saw the manor immersed in nature. A fountain with shimmering water decorated the entrance road. I looked up at the large balcony of the manor behind which there was a circular stained glass window with delicate and intricate designs. I walked around the front garden and saw the large windows of the mansion.

I was the last to walk inside. As I was walking towards the door which had an arch before it. The arch and walls were covered in dried leaves and flower buds. As I went inside, closing the door. The flower bloomed and the dry leaves turned luxuriant. The arch was completely engulfed by the flowers and green leaves. The fruits of the garden ripened and the mansion felt more alive than ever.

Inside the expected dusty manor was squeaky clean. It had a sparkling tiled floor that seemed slippery but was in fact, not. The entrance room was huge with a large staircase in the middle. It went up where there were 3 glass windows. It split in 2 directions, leading to the corridors on the first floor. The ceiling was high and had a mirror chandelier with lights in the middle. There were statues and paintings decorating the room which were expensive. The walls had lamps in a similar design as the chandelier.

I saw the room to my right. It was a living room. The huge area and the high ceiling made me feel like an ant. It had majestic furniture. This room had a golden snake statue with ruby eyes which attracted my attention. I felt as if I was possessed while I looked closer at the red eyes of the snake. The eyes seem to be pointing at a door.

I walked through and saw a study. The walls were bookcases filled with books. Through a glass door I saw a greenhouse with glass walls and ceiling. The study looked as if it was a king. The books in the room included all the topics I could think of.

The desk had a writing board placed in the middle. It was surrounded by papers, stationary etc. But what caught my attention was a dagger inside a glass case. It was the most gorgeous dagger I had ever seen. It was perfectly designed with rubies, gold, silver, diamonds. Despite the heavy decoration it was sharp and light. Contrary to the rooms I had seen before this one was decorated with exquisite weapons which made me wonder about their owner and stories.

That was when I heard Gale's shout. (Mimi's brother) AHHHHHHHHH!
