They could see the village from the hill where they were. It was already late in the evening, but torches and lanterns lit up the whole place. People were buying and selling all manner of things. There were different shows and performances happening, and there was a group playing tricks with fire.
They could hear the people laughing, clapping, and swearing. But all in all, it seemed they were having fun. The sort of fun none of the noble kids had ever had and could never have.
The ladies in the carriage snuck their heads out the window to watch in awe.
