After entering the portal, Keiichi ended up in the room where he was previously. Yato was sitting on the couch with an impassive expression.
Keiichi walked towards him with a desperate expression.
"Yato!"
"Looks like you came back alive, brat." Yato smiled.
"Help Sakura! She's in danger!" He felt like shit for abandoning her, but he still had hope that Yato would save her.
…
Despite Keiichi being desperate, Yato showed no reaction upon hearing that Sakura was in danger.
"Hey, Yato! Can you hear me- Ah!" Keiichi felt his wounds getting worse, but that didn't stop him from talking.
"If you don't help her… she will die." His voice was already getting weak.
Yato pointed towards the portal.
"Huh?" Keiichi was confused and looked back. The portal shook for a moment and Sakura appeared with a relieved expression.
'I achieved!'
"Sakura?!" Keiichi called her name with a shocked and relieved expression.
…
"A-ah, glad you're okay." Keiichi showed a disconcerting expression. He was so ashamed he could barely look her in the eye.
The atmosphere was a little awkward in between, of course, being dumped by your partner is never cool, so she was a little angry. However, she did not want to be a hypocrite and say that she would give her life for him, far from it.
[Mission complete]
*clap* *clap!*
"You did it." Yato cut through the awkward mood with his sarcastic smile.
"Bastard! We almost died!" Keiichi was very angry to see that Yato didn't seem to mind the deplorable condition they were in.
"Almost. You're alive and healthy, right?"
'Healthy?' He could only move his body using elemental magic, how is that considered healthy?
Sakura's situation was better, although she was still injured.
"You warned us about the Kraligian King, but that commander was too strong." Sakura never thought she would go through such a terrifying experience, her body was shaking until now. Imagining that she would never see her family again was frightening.
"Well, no pain, no gain." Yato never said this mission would be easy. "However, your plan wasn't a bad one."
The initial plan was that Sakura would enter the ship using an illusion to make everyone believe that she was Kraligian. It worked well because Basmakal was not around, or he would have noticed Sakura. After successfully entering the spaceship, she followed the Kraligians and ended up seeing Basmakal talking to the troops, despite being far away, she was able to see his appearance and that she could copy it. After that, she was lucky enough to find a Kraligian who opened the control room, letting her through. Her illusion ability couldn't copy Basmakal's genetic data, so passing the checks was impossible.
Keiichi would have to draw everyone's attention to the warehouse so Sakura could run away with her heart on fire. The plan would have worked if Basmakal hadn't shown up.
Basmakal's speed was far superior to Keiichi and Sakura's speed, so they were taken by surprise. Had Sakura not hidden the heart of fire in her inventory, Basmakal could have killed them both within seconds.
"You…" Keiichi wanted to curse him, but his mind was already clouding, his vision was losing focus. Well, he ended up passing out.
Before he fell to the ground, an invisible force caught him.
"He'll be fine?" Sakura asked.
"Yes, no worries." Yato healed his wounds and let him sleep. "And you? Don't you want to rest?"
"Well… I think so." She had been through so much today. Her mind was a mess. Lying down on the couch, next to Yato, she closed her eyes and fell asleep. Yato healed her injuries and let her sleep in peace.
*Meow!*
Yato looked at the cat who was patting his hair.
"What a spoiled kitten you are." He smiled and took it.
*Meow!*
Yerin protested, wanting attention. Yato placed her on his lap and stroked her head.
"Master, this mission caused trauma to them." Yerin said.
"That is the path they decided to follow. They've made the decision, and there are consequences, good or bad. If they give up here, it's because they weren't qualified to have this power." Yato replied.
He knew that Sakura and Keiichi would be hesitant to carry out a mission, but this was just the beginning. The mission they did is just the "tutorial".
Of course, Keiichi and Sakura were ordinary mortals before, so adapting to this new life wouldn't be easy. Would they give up or move on?
Yato smiled as he thought of the surprises that fate could bring them.
"Master, you're looking like a villain again." Yerin commented. From another perspective, her Mestre sure looks like a villain.
"Heh..."

Basmakal stood up with an expression of pain. His body was wounded, but it wasn't enough to kill him.
The spacecraft was not damaged, leaving him relieved.
*SHAKE!*
The ground began to shake, or rather, the entire planet was shaking. A bloodthirsty presence was approaching.
Basmakal's eyes widened, sensing the familiar presence.
"King…"
