Judging from its history, Powhatan is actually a respected tribal chief figure. Especially the other name Paqwachowng which means King. He is often dubbed as the king of navigation among other tribes because he knows the geographical location and the area he is going to. Be it an area to avoid, full of wild animals and a place to hunt animals.
Powhatan and his people live east of the Fall Line in Tidewater Virginia. They build their houses, called yehakins, by bending the saplings and placing woven mats or bark on them. They support themselves by cultivating crops such as corn. In addition, they also fish and hunt at the same time, precisely in the large forest around their respective areas.
