Suddenly I wasn't feeling so good. "Excuse me. May I use the restroom?" "Yes sure go ahead. Are you ok?" "Yeah I hope so." I went to the restroom and looked at my face. It was pale. Then I looked at a wound I had gotten in a previous situation. "Damn. Its starting to spread. I better get to Oceans fast." I went back out and told Makani what I had to do. "OK sure. Sorry everyone. Naia is sick. We have to get to Oceans." "Hey its all good. Hope you get better soon." Said mom and dad. Our whole family left for Ocean's place.
We finally got to Ocean's place and met up with him. We told him to get a doc and fast. Makani helped me to my bed and laid me down. We had the kids go to their room for now. "I'm sorry….for…not telling you. I…have to….show you…something. (Cough cough)" I pulled down my dress and showed him the wound. Black veins slowly started to spread. "What the hell happened to you Naia?" "It happened on one of the previous missions." Finally the doctor came in.
"What is wrong with her?" I showed him the wound. He was shocked. "First thing I need to know is it poison that is making your veins spread like that?" "I'm assuming so. It was the same thing that got me when I was 16 years old. Only this time this one seemed more poisonous." "I don't think that's it. I think this was either an older one or you got hit more times than before." "Can you help her sir?" "I can try. Ocean I need my suction tools. Do you know where they are?" "Yeah I will go get them." "Good. Now Naia have you tried cutting the wound to get some of the poison out?" "No I haven't tried anything. I didn't tell anyone until now." "No wonder it spread so fast. If you told someone this would be a lot easier. Since you didn't it won't be as easy." "I….Understand….Doc…" "Woah you're this bad already. Try to stay awake ok? I need to know when you think the poison is mostly gone." "I'll…Try…." "Keep her talking Makani. I'll be back." "Yes sir."
So Makani tried to keep me awake and talking but it was getting harder to stay awake. "Hmm. Makani I can't stay awake much longer I…." Then she passed out. "Dammit. I tried." Then the doc and Ocean came in at the same time. "She passed out didn't she?" "Yeah I'm afraid so. I tried to keep her awake." "We will have to manage as best we can then. Hopefully she doesn't feel this. If she does we will have to have people hold her down." Then the dock put a tube in her wound. She didn't seem to feel it which is good and bad. "OK lets pray that this works." Then the suction finally started. The suction tube only sucks poison out. It was one of Naia's inventions.
Finally its been an hour and it looks like the veins are small enough the tube can be taken out. "Damn. That's a lot of poison. I thought so." "Let me know the moment she wakes up. I'm going to have someone look at the poison see if we can find an antidote." "yes sir." Makani rubbed his hands through his wife's hair and kissed her forehead. "Hang in there Naia please. We don't have a new goddess or god yet so that means you can't die. Plus your daughters still need you and your sons as well. I need you too." "Hmm. Ha. What? What happened?" "Ocean." "On it. I will go get him."
"How are you feeling Naia?" "Sore. What happened?" "You don't remember?" "All I remember is feeling pain then passing out." "Yes you were poisoned by the same creature that got you when you were 16 years old. Only this time it was a lot of poison. The doc took out as much poison as he could. He is looking for an antidote." "Oh no need for an antidote." "Why what's going on?" "I know who do to go see if he got most of it out. I should be ok enough to get home. But we would have to leave soon." Just then the doc came in.
"Oh doc hello." "Hey there Naia. How you feeling?" "Im good. But doc you don't need to find an antidote. As long as I leave like in a few minutes and get home. I will make it in time. I have someone to go to in this situation." "Really who?" "My brother." "Ok then I will get the kids ready to go home." "Thanks Makani." "Ow. Do you at least have any painkillers doc?" "Yeah here's a bottle." "Thanks doc." I took one then headed toward the Ocean with Makani and the kids following.
(Back in the ocean)
"Hey Naia how you doing?" said Makani. "I'm ok. I have a bottle of pills with me. they are made to go underwater cool invention. I wonder who made them. But we need to hurry I don't know when it will act up again. Kids stay close to your father in case another creature like that shows up your dad will protect you." "Yes mother." Said Zee. "Are you sure your ok mom? You look like a ghost." Said Grey. "Yeah I'm fine. Grey. I'm just tired and need to see your uncle."
Finally made it home. Barely. I was getting weaker to where I can't stand. Makani helped me. Everyone go to your rooms right now ok?" "Ok dad." So the kids went and Nen finally showed up. "Sister! What happened to her?" Then Makani told him about the situation. "Sigh. I see. She has always been like that. Bring her into the special room. I can help her there." "Sure Nen." So Makani carried Naia princess style to the room.
"Ok lay her on the table. I need you to stay here. I may need you to help me." "Ok sure." Makani sat down after putting her on the table. "Hmm. I see the doc up there knew what it was and drained most of the poison. That's good. Lets just hope this shot cures the wound. If not we have to think of another method." He got a needle and some medicine in it then put it directly into the wound. Makani couldn't watch so he turned his head. "Its ok. Your not the only one. Many turn their heads as well. Ok done." "If it works she will wake up any time from now to morning." So they waited…and waited….Finally after 4 or 5 hours of waiting she was starting to wake up.
"Ow that hurt. Damn brother. That medicine is so cruel." "Hey I had to. How are you feeling now?" We all looked where the wound was and it was a tiny one now with pink around it. "Good the rest will heal itself. Now Naia. What did we learn?" "Oh shut up. Your not mom or dad. Stop treating me like that." "Fine. So what's the verdict sis?" I showed him the compromise on the rule of their kind coming up. "Hmm Yes fair enough." "Hey brother. We need to have a get together. They are waiting for me back up there to guide them home here." "Oh is that so?" "Yeah." "Well lets get the council together and see what they plan to do." "Good tell them to do it Asap." "Yes maam." So he left me and Makani in the room and Makani helped me down. "Thanks Makani. We should tell the kids I'm ok now. They are probably worried." "Yeah they sure were you ok now?" "Yeah just a little wobbly for a minute. I'm good now." He walked next to me just in case.
We finally made it to the kids bedrooms. Since the boys were closer we went to theirs first and saw the girls there as well which saved the trip. "Hey Everyone. Sorry to worry you kids." "Mommy!" Said Ocean and Grey "Hey you two. I bet you were worried the most." "Yeah we were." Said Ocean. "Don't scare us like that again ok?" "Haha I will try." I ruffled both their head. Then the older ones came over. "You really ok mom?" said Zee. "Yeah I'm fine. I got my color back and I don't look like a ghost anymore. Hehe." "That's true." The kids all hugged me and I hugged them back. "Sorry to worry you kids I'm good now. I just need a day or two rest then I should be fine. Hey I want you kids to stay here with your uncle when your dad and I go up ok?" "Why mom?" "Just because ok? Promise me you won't follow me. Promise me!" "Yes mom we promise." "Good. If I find out you did You will regret it. Brother you know what will happen if they follow right?" "Yes I will have guards on both inside and outside of their rooms at all times." "Good. I need to lay down now. I feel woozy." "I'll help you Naia." "Thanks Makani." He carried me princess style to the room and laid me down.
"Hmm. I missed my own bed. I already feel much better." "Ok get some sleep. I'll check on you in a bit." "Wait Makani. Take a nap with me." "I guess its not urgent. It can wait for 1hour or 2." "Good. Now lay down." Makani laid down and I snuggled up to him and instantly fell asleep.
2 hours later I woke up and Makani was awake probably watching me sleep. "How long have you been awake Makani?" "Oh about 10 minutes." "Watching me sleep for 10 minutes huh? Well that's a record. Hehe." "Yeah its usually 1 or 2 minutes but you were recovering so you should be fine." "Oh crap! The assembly!" "Woah slow down Tiger. Ocean said he will do the assembly himself. Its all good." "Phew that's good. At least they know to wait then." "Yes so don't get too worked up." Then there was a knock on my door. (Knock Knock) "Its your brother." "Come in little brother." He came in and saw how I looked. "Haha you still look the same when you get out of bed huh?" "Hey I can't help what my hair and face look like it the morning. What do you want?" " I came to see how you are doing, but it looks like you are fine. Also mom and dad are here and are waiting for you in the parlor." "I'm to lazy right now. Send them in here." "Are you sure?" "Yes its fine Nen." Said Makani. "Ok then I will go get them."
Nen brought mom and dad to our room and they sat on the couch. "Hey mom and dad. I take it Nen told you what happened?" "Yes how are you feeling?" "Peachy did he tell you how business went up there?" "Yes he did. Congratulations honey. Your dream has come true." "Like I told them up there lets see how much, when they are finally up there though. I know they will welcome the others down here its up there I'm worried about." "I know honey. The only thing we can do is pray everything goes ok." "Tomorrow I will be going back to bring them here if Nen can get the council to get everyone together." "I'm sure he will It might take awhile though." "I know mom. I missed you and dad when I was up there." "We missed you too little Naia." Said dad. Then we visited awhile then they left.
Finally it was time to go to bed. I took a nice bath and got dressed. I laid down to relax. Then Makani got into the bath and when he was done laid down next to me. "Hey Makani. Want to have fun tonight?" "Are you sure your well enough." "You know me. I'm as strong as a Tiger." "Ok then. Don't complain if your sore in the morning." "Yeah yeah." So we got busy for a couple hours of the night then took a bath together and fell asleep cuddled up together.
