Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Work

Emira's black Yves Saint Laurent heels clicked against the tiles of the floor as she headed to her office. She gave a few bows here and there while ignoring the rude receptionist and entered the elevator once she reached it.

Having entered, her hands gripped onto the railing of the elevator and admired the renovated interior of the building through the glass of the elevator as it moved upwards.

Her work building had really changed up. The exterior had new extremely clean and large windows, the reception had a large dark velvet red carpet with beautiful gold embroidery on the sides and in the middle of it, the receptionist had a new desk. The receptionist's desk, entrance of the building and elevators had tall potted plants on each side.

Even the floors were re-done, tiles now firm, well laid out and attractive.

"Wow. Is this where my money went too?", Emira jokingly whispered to herself. She truly believed the amount of work she did was never equal to the amount of money she was paid.

She wanted to argue but felt it was best not to risk being sued and losing the amount of money she already has.

The elevator dig alerted her of the end of the elevator ride before it opened and let her continue to her workspace.

She walked out of the elevator and passed the cubicles full of workers anxiously writing and typing. She was rather surprised to see them so early to and active in work, she was usually the first worker to arrive to the building or at least this floor.

It was still 5:13 a.m. or so. Seeing each cubical full of focused working people was rather shocking to Emira.

Continuing to her desk, Emira moved around it to the open space before entering and sitting down on her chair. She took off her grey plaid coat and placed it on her chair before making herself comfortable and taking out her computer.

The breeze blew by her shoulders and cleavage exposed by her black tank top as she typed a 'sketch essay' as she calls it for the incoming client. She was writing a plan, yes the sketch essay, for an intern who had needed some guidance in which areas to chose to advertise for one of their clients.

An hour or so has passed and Emira was laid back in her chair, cursing under her breathe at the annoying sound of multiple fingers hitting the keys of keyboards. The workplace was completely silent so the sound of taps and clicks were accentuated and driving Emira nuts.

She felt like she could hear the sound at 140000Hz per micro-microsecond. With that aggravating sound hitting her ears, she couldn't properly focus on her sketch essay. She was short on time as Mr LacnWood would arrive soon and ask for her take and plan for the places and forms she would be using to advertise.

She could write and complete it if she were quick, but it would be full of mistakes and would be guaranteed not to please her boss, Mr LacnWood.

"Good morning", a thick voice sounded. It seems that Mr LacnWood was going to be late today.
