Chapter Seventy-one
Hong Qi deceit
Hong Qi looked shabby and worn, but his menacing and fierce eyes overshadowed his appearance. Moreover, Hong Qi seemed unconcerned about his looks.
Observing Huo Jin's exaggerated reaction, Hong Qi rubbed his hands and responded in a manic speaking pattern, "The message you sent seemed interesting, so I came to confirm it and report it again to the elders." Rolling his eyes and using a low menacing tone, he added, "You've suffered enough, so don't stress yourself."
Huo Jin became especially alert upon hearing Hong Qi's usual speaking pattern and tone. He didn't have a good feeling about his presence.
Noticing Huo Jin's reaction, Hong Qi flared his nose and said, "There's no need to be tense, Huo Jin." Not allowing him to speak, he clapped his hands and continued, "You did a great job discovering this girl." Hong Qi suddenly smiled, but the smile appeared cruel and decadent — an odd combination.
