Chapter 13.2
Hearing Jun Mey, Chi An interrupted her halfway, "Your parents were undoubtedly high-ranking hunters."
Chi An pondered the irony that the hunters considered the Almighty Queen, who they had hoped would be their savior, a tragedy. She had forcefully claimed the throne from them and wielded so much power that the hunter community was uneasy. Moreover, she attracted the wolves like bees to honey, but since they couldn't control her, they wished she would disappear.
Seeing Chi An's blank face, "Are we going to be enemies?" She asked this question because she knew from what Chi An said that wolves and hunters didn't mingle. However, she already loved the ruthless cold guy.
Looking at Jun Mey, Chi An raised the corner of his lips in a mocking smile. He said in a fast-paced tone, "What do you think? Do you have the desire to kill me?"
Hearing Chi An, Jun Mey jokingly thought, 'How am I supposed to combat a monster like you?' Jun Mey steadied her eyes on Chi An's lips and added, 'Not to mention that I feel like kissing you right now.'
After noticing Jun Mey's gaze on his lips, Chi An remained stiff. He knew he lacked the courage to hurt her but couldn't figure out why he was unsure what to do with her. Chi An failed to acknowledge that he might have fallen in love with Jun Mey without realizing it.
So Chi An consoled himself thinking, 'I feel compelled to defend you for some strange reason.'
After hearing everything, Jun Mey rose slowly from her seat and consciously worked to relax herself, holding her hands behind her back.
Calmly looking at the dark cave wall, she thought: 'If what he said was correct, didn't that mean I have many fights ahead of me?' Pausing for a second, Jun Mey added with a strengthened gaze: 'At the very least, I must struggle to stay alive.' Jun Mey contemplated while staying anchored in position, wondering how to acquire more strength. She believed that although the wolves and hunters were not familiar with her currently, they would undoubtedly recognize her potential in the future.
Chi An gazed emotionlessly at the candle flame as if he could freeze the fire with his stare. Jun Mey was allowed to digest her thoughts while Chi An kept his eyes cold and his thoughts unknown.
Having concluded what to do, Jun Mey calmly spoke, "Chi An, may I address you as Anzi?" After observing the unmoved Chi An, she added, "What is your degree of power?"
Chi An directed a cold stare at Jun Mey and furrowed his brows. To make matters worse, he emitted an evil aura and energy from his body, causing the cave to tremble. Chi An thought, 'How dare she name me like a newborn.'
Chi An turned his sanguineous eyes to Jun Mey, asking, "Isn't Anzi the same as altering my given name?" However, Jun Mey remained calm, her eyes steadily staring at the cold eyes of Chi An. This situation annoyed Chi An, even though he didn't realize that Jun Mey was barely supporting herself.
"In terms of rank, I am an alpha king," Chi An spoke flatly with his fast-paced voice. After raising his gaze, he added, "However, I am not the most powerful wolf, despite being an alpha king without a title. The true nightmare lies among those alpha kings who have earned their grades and corresponding titles. Furthermore, there is also a wolf king to contend with."
Seeing Chi An not striking her for the name suggestion, Jun Mey calmly pushed her luck further. She spoke in a conversational tone, "This name Anzi is quite appropriate for you, in my opinion." After a pause, she added, "That's because it implies that you are looking within, by yourself, which is private and enigmatic." Saying this, Jun Mey began to praise the qualities and inner strength of Chi An.
Hearing her exaggerated yet calm praise, Chi An interrupted, "You like my inner strength?"
'I've heard enough. I love you,' Jun Mey thought, walking to Chi An and kissing him without caring about his displeasure. Chi An's thoughts exploded as they kissed. The sensation of gentle lips imprisoned him behind the four walls of hell.
Chi An anxiously asked his mind, 'What's this sensation? My mind is out of control.' Chi An's sanguineous eyes flared mightily.
