Tuesday, November 25th, 7 Years Before The Sacrifice
The pair dragged the bear's limp corpse.
"We should have brought a wagon with us," James says
"That would have been a good idea," Asher says
Some time passes and their destination becomes closer.
"That's the place," Asher says
"Finally, my arms feel like they're going to fall off!" James says
"You really need to work out more" Asher says
"Shut it!" James says
"So why are we meeting in the middle of the woods?" James says
"I don't know, we just are," Asher says
As they continue to walk they see some people standing around a camp.
"I'm guessing that's them," Asher says
"Hello!" Asher says
The people now notice the two.
"So you managed to kill the beast," A woman says
"Indeed we have," Asher says
The group looks over the corpse of the bear.
"Yes this definitely is the bear," A man says
"What happened to its face? It looks burnt'' another man says
"It doesn't matter what we did, it's dead give us the money," James says
(Shit!!! I really should learn to use a sword) James thinks
"Fair point," The woman says
The woman throws a bag at Asher and he catches it. Asher shakes the bag around.
"Yep. Thank you for your business" Asher says
"Feel free to request us again," Asher says
Asher walks away. James looks at Asher with a surprised expression. James moved to catch up with him.
"Us?" James whispers
"Yeah us," Asher says
"I already have a job," James says
"You won't need it," Asher says
"You'll make a lot of money," Asher says
"Asher I can't," James says
"Of course, you can, don't say that your not strong or something like that when you can do magic," Asher says
Asher continues to talk James into the mercenary business.
"Alright, alright I'll do it," James says
"Hell yeah," Asher says
"God you're so annoying," James says
"Maybe so but I got what I wanted," Asher says
"Let's just go home," James says
And so they went back to their home. James was hoping it would be a quick journey, he was even more tired after pulling that huge bear. Asher was excited that his best friend would be working with him from now on.
