Before the alpha would place his lips on Scarlett's, she coughed the water out at the face of the man who was seconds away from drowning the girl back into the water. After spitting the water out, she sat in an upright position, her eyelids opening and closing. If she was asked where she was right now, 'Dylan took me on a beach with him' would be her answer. Probably her mind wasn't working properly as she was half-conscious.
"Get on my back", she heard an irritated, low pitched voice but her eyes remained closed. She was clearly injured and needed assistance. Also, she hadn't eaten anything since she had travelled to the place, not to mention the time weakening her more.
