Chapter 4 - Ruining the moment Ruining the moment

"When did this happen?" lance thunders over the phone. As she applies her red lipstick at the dresser.

Her moods change immediately as she starts to panic while scratching her hands tirelessly after the phone call.

She looks so distressed by the phone call, besides her stress levels must be too high that she might lose her breath in a minute. Studying her for a while, I look at all the cards to play in my mind then wonder how I have to get this done.

Her makeup is wearing down with the level her skin is sweating too damply. I can't erase the fact that she is sexy bait and I still have to bridge this gap like a gentleman.

"What's wrong baby?" I finally break the silence with a sad tone.

"Collins, the rival mafias have betrayed our drug route, and exposure of our trade has been linked to the government. Yet currently we are still recovering from charges after my cousin's incident at the mansion." She replies with a squicky voice trying to gasp for air.

"What happened to your cousin?" I seem more concerned yet I framed her drug addict cousin's death at their mansion personally.

"Baby, it's a long story. I just want to be by myself to think it through," she responds as she walks to the gardens for her privacy.

I make no pursuit over her decision so I return to the bedroom for work on my laptop as I prepare my next target for revenge.

At the Sweys mansion

Mrs. Swey is moving up and down like she lost her ass with a wine glass at hand. The house helps endeavor to keep away from her unless one wants to get fired. Mr.Swey is in the study room calling government officials to intercede and accept his bribes over the case but something Is wrong.

Just as Mrs. Swey fills her wine glass, Lance makes her entrance and she heads up straight to her father's study room. Her darkened eyes can measure the worry and misery hidden as she takes two stairs at a time. The information in the mansion is watching in the kitchen as she pretends to be marinating chicken for a lifetime.

Once she enters her father's office, the information sends Collins a message of everything taking place in the mansion as soon as possible.

Once the study room office door gets open, Mr. swey knows that it's only his daughter who gets in without a knock or two.

The terrible state Lance finds her father in breaks her down and she hardens her grip on the gun. Lance would be weeping, rather than wailing but mafias don't cry. After keeping her composure, she tells her father her sincere apologies.

The worst to happen is that Her father doesn't reply so she vows to take down all the nails in the soft path to success. Unfortunately, he looks at her and smiles sarcastically.

"only if you were a boy, all this could not be happening" Mr. Swey utters arrogantly with despicable regret.

"Well, father I will prove my worth," Lance replies as she exits the study room office and heads out to her car then drives off angrily.

Pain fills her mind as she speeds up ignoring the traffic lights like an ambulance. Just on time, she gets a message from Collins requesting to meet up at the beach in the evening.

Instead, Lance declines the request as she heads off to Lord Vans mansion to sort out the family business issue at hand. Only Lord Vans can tell who exactly led to the setback in the drug business since that route was governed by his men.

To her surprise, Lord Vans had temporarily left for business in Africa and with only his permission then she would get her humble request. The wife refused to second her investigation in the boundary route.

lance had tasted the depth of her arrogance before as she had once persuaded her hand in marriage to his useless blonde son Mart. The failure of this alliance with the Vans had rifted Marts liking for the Swey to hatred. And as the saying goes. like som like a mother.

After the objection of her request, she left for the beach where she walked barefoot to ease up the blood flow and stress her body was undergoing. As she moved miserably, She got a call that her mother had got a heart attack.

This kept her too scared wondering whether her mother had a link to the bad issue or her anniversary was ruined by the sad moment. The caller informed that she had received a painting by an anonymous person abefore she fainted.
