Chereads / Killer: I Start By Killing A Fly With A Poker Card / Chapter 30 - The Killer’s Pursuit

Chapter 30 - The Killer’s Pursuit

In the end, Shi Yu stuck the tree branch under his feet to make the place he lay as flat as possible. Sawdust was thrown from the tree directly onto the ground.

Looking at the residence gradually taking shape, a sense of accomplishment still came from the bottom of his heart.

Taking his sleeping bag and medical box, Shi Yu entered the hut. With moose jerky for food, he looked ahead. Although he did not know when he would return, this kind of life would not last long.

After settling his residence, Shi Yu climbed under the tree and began to look for another water source. Although hopes of that were slim, he still wanted to try. Who knows what he might find.

The sky gradually darkened. After a fruitless search, Shi Yu returned to the tree. Coincidentally, after he returned to the house, the sound of lightning and thunder could be heard.

Following that, it began to drizzle. On the tree, which was more than twenty meters tall, the wind blew hard. Fortunately, Shi Yu had filled up the gaps between the wooden sticks with mud, or he would have been helpless in the current weather.

He took out the items in the medical box and used the box as a rain collection tool. Sitting cross-legged on the tree, he watched as the water dripped down the leaves.

Shi Yu touched his pocket and took out a cigarette that had been badly crushed. Fortunately, it was a hard box. If it was a soft pack, really, only tobacco would've been left.

He took out a cigarette, straightened it, and stuck it in his mouth. He suddenly remembered that he did not have a lighter. But would that stop a man who needed a smoke?

One had to know that a man's IQ would become second only to Einstein's when he needed to smoke without a fire. He took out a medical bandage and wrapped it around a flint. After rubbing it for a while, the bandage emitted sparks.

These sparks were enough to ignite the bandage, and as he put it close to his mouth, he took a deep drag. A wisp of smoke came out. Shi Yu took a few deep breaths, and the cigarette was lit.

Looking at the pitter-patter of rain, Shi Yu picked up the medical box that had been under the sky for a long time. He took a look and drank a good amount of water in one gulp.

Then, he put the medical box back into the rain and continued collecting water. He took a deep breath and watched the smoke exit his mouth. The rain passed through the smoke.

The smoke slowly rose until it disappeared. Shi Yu could not help but sigh. This was truly a primitive life. However, he knew he could not stay here forever, so he called out to the system in his heart.

The system seemed to have heard Shi Yu's call.

Ding!

Shi Yu still did not know whether William had transferred money into that account, so he could only upgrade his dagger to try it out. If the Upgrade failed, it meant that William had not transferred money into his account yet.

[Upgrade weapon—dagger]

[Ding!]

[Upgrade failed. Account balance insufficient]

Although Shi Yu expected the result, he could not help but feel a little discouraged when he really heard it.

He could only calm down, having no other option. Now that he had obtained this system, as long as he was given time, he was confident that he could become the number one assassin of the darknet and become the king of assassins!

When his mood had been sorted out, Shi Yu laid out his sleeping bag and slowly crawled in. He looked at the green and dangerous forest in front of him and listened to the pitter-patter of the rain.

Shi Yu slowly fell asleep.

The rain got heavier and heavier, and because there were no windows, Shi Yu did not close the small door when he slept. It was mainly for ventilation, but the noise woke him up in the middle of the night.

He only made three walls, not taking into consideration the side that was leaning against the tree. The rain flowed down through the cracks in the tree.

Shi Yu had no choice but to curl up and spend the night first.

The rain only began to subside come the following day. Shi Yu climbed under the tree, but it was impossible to find wood in the rain that night.

He looked at the drenched house, discouraged. After eating some dried elk meat, he took his dagger. It was time to go out and look for food. Although that wasn't what Amazon lacked, it also didn't lack its fair share of perils.

In front of him was a swamp, and there were black caiman crocodiles inside. This meant that he could not go forward. Thus, Shi Yu could only look back and search on the path he had come from.

Suddenly, he heard the incredibly soft sound of a hound. He smiled coldly. He was unfamiliar with the forest, but he was much more than the people who came to look for him.

Thus, he slowly walked in the direction where the sound came from. When the two hounds were about 100 meters away, Shi Yu stopped, and two silver poker cards appeared between his fingers.

The poker cards flew towards the hound at high speed, and the two hounds could only let out a wail before falling.

Seeing this, the killers immediately hid behind a tree and began to look for Shi Yu based on the direction the poker cards had flown.

Since Shi Yu had made his move now, he wanted to explain to the outside world that he was not really afraid. It was just that he had been in the middle of a storm a while ago. After these few days of fermenting, the people after him slowly started to give up.

If he could be brazen in the eye of the storm, then he was really not afraid of death. Hence, after disappearing for a few days, Shi Yu did not show any mercy to those who still dared to give chase.

Among the bushes in front of them, a few assassins saw the figure of a man flash past. One of them took out a satellite phone and began to report the situation while the rest fired at Shi Yu's silhouette.

The sound of bullets immediately filled the entire forest, bringing with it a series of echoes in the distance. The bullets hit the trees, kicking up clouds of sawdust.

Shi Yu saw them raise their guns and began to dash. As they passed through the trees, the bullets were blocked by the trees. They were too far away, so the bullets could not hit Shi Yu at all.

However, the silver-white poker cards easily penetrated the trees and hit them. Shi Yu, who was running, threw out three more poker cards between his fingers. The few saw the cards flying and quickly hid behind the trees.

However, a sharp pain came from their chests. Half-looking at half of the poker cards that appeared on their chests, they slowly fell to the ground with their eyes wide open.

Only one assassin, the one with the satellite phone, was left standing where he was. He looked at the corpses around him and inhaled sharply. This method was too shocking. A silver poker card pierced through them from behind the trees.

Shi Yu slowly walked out. The assassin saw him and instantly put away the satellite phone and took out the pistol at his waist with trembling hands.

Seeing Shi Yu smiling as he walked toward him, he felt the footsteps of death closing in with every step. The assassin turned off the safety and shot at Shi Yu with a bang.

Shi Yu, however, had already thrown out the silver-white poker card between his fingers. The bullet and the poker card met instantly, but the card did not stop as it sliced through the shell, as though cutting a piece of paper.
