It will have me, the Doctor, obviously, the companion, whoever it might be. The traveling, the hijinks, the running and traveling continues, and this could be the end for our heroes in the story.

Chapter 1 - The Magician’s Apprentice

(Jared's POV)

Battlefield…

"Spread out! Get down!" The soldier yelled.

Straight in from the previous, three biplane buzz soldiers with quivers on their backs, but it fires laser bolts not bullets. One soldier aims an arrow at one as it flies off, then turns to see a young boy running in the opposite direction, into the smoke. A siren sounds, then another soldier runs up.

"What's wrong?" The soldier asked.

"Was that a child?" Kanzo asked.

The boy is breathless, but still running.

"Hey! You there, stop! Stop running!" Kanzo said, while the boy stops. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. Just don't run."

"Kanzo?" The soldier asked.

"I'll catch up." Kanzo said.

"There are clam drones two miles away."

"I know. I'll be fine. Just go." Kanzo said, as the soldier runs back. "What are you doing out here, huh? Did you get lost?" The ground ripples. "Stay still. Stay absolutely still."

Kanzo gets out a small hand-held scanner.

"I'm just scanning the ground. I think we've got company. Do you know what hand mines are?" Kanzo asked, and the boy nods. "Well, in that case you know you've got to stand absolutely still. Right?" Another nod. "Have you ever seen a hand mine?" The boy nods. "Where?"

Kanzo follows the boy's gaze to his own foot, which has a hand from out of the ground clamped around his ankle.

"Okay. It's okay. Everything's going to be fine." Kanzo said, happily.

Whereupon Kanzo is suddenly pulled underground. Then more hands come out of the mud and turn around. They have eyes in their palms, and stop when they see the boy.

"Help me! Someone, please! Help me! Help me!" The boy cried.

A sonic screwdriver flies through the air and lands at his feet.

"It's okay." I said, grabbing the Doctor's hand. "There's no need to worry."

"Jared's right. Your chances of survival are about one in a thousand. So here's what you do. You forget the thousand, and you concentrate on the one. Pick it up. I said, pick it up!" The Doctor said, while the boy obeys. "We're straight ahead of you, about fifty feet. Can you see us?"

The smoke clears to reveal the TARDIS, the Doctor, and I.

"Yeah. Can you?" I asked, squeezing the Doctor's hand. "You got the screwdriver. That's good."

"The device in your hand is creating an acoustic corridor, so that we can talk. Do you understand?" The Doctor asked.

"Who are you?" The boy asked.

"Well, we were passing by. Looking for a bookshop. I wanted to stop by it to give some books to friends of mine." I said, smiling. "So, how do you think we're doing?"

"This isn't a bookshop." The boy said.

"No, this is a war. A very old one, going by the mix of technology. Which war is this? I get them all muddled up." The Doctor said.

"It's just the war."

"Where are we? What planet is this?" The Doctor asked.

"Yup. What planet? Is it Remnant? Is it Gamindustri?" I asked, letting go of the Doctor's hand. "I should really see Neptune and the others. It's been ages."

"Jared, you should stop by a bakery and get Neptune some pudding and cake."

"Oh. She's going to love it. And maybe some video games too."

"I don't understand." The boy said, frowning.

"Well, neither do we. We try never to understand. It's called an open mind. Now, you have got to make a choice." The Doctor said.

"A choice?" The boy asked.

"Yes, you have got to decide that you're going to live. Survival is just a choice. Choose it now."

"If I move, they'll get me." The boy said, letting out a lot of tears.

"I told you, you have one chance in a thousand. But one is all you ever need. What's your name? Come on, faith in the future. Introduce yourself! Tell us the name of the boy who isn't going to die today."

"Davros. My name is Davros." The boy said.

"Doctor, we need to go." I said, walking away with the Doctor towards the TARDIS. "Like, right now."

"Hello? Are you and your friend still there? Please, you've got to help me. You said I could survive. You said you and your friend would help me. Help me!" Davros cried.

(Open POV)

Planeptune…

A spaceship arrives at a planet, and a figure in a long hooded robe glides and weaves down an alley into Central City as if riding a Segway, where the speakers are blaring out Planeptune's Theme. Neptune, Nepgear, Histoire, Compa, and IF look up at the figure.

"Sis, who's that?" Nepgear asked.

The figure hisses at the goddesses and their friends.

"We are Colony Sarff. We bring harm." Colony Sarff said, gliding up to Neptune, then past around the floor. "Where are the Doctor and the Black Pearl? (looking round) Where are the Doctor and the Black Pearl?"

"You're being very weird." Neptune said, whimpering and her friends back away. "

"Where are the Doctor and the Black Pearl!" Colony Sarff said, angrily.

Judgment 177 Branch Office…

An office building in Academy City, Japan. Shirai is busy working with Uiharu nearby.

"So, everything is normal then." Shirai said, typing away on her keyboard. "Come on. Today's been slow already."

"Shirai, you could always take a break." Uiharu said, looking down at her laptop.

"Right. I forgot Jared told me about this." Shirai said, turning around to see Colony Sarff there. "Snake guy. Don't know how you got in here. But I want to know why, Colony Sarff."

"Where are the Doctor and the Black Pearl?" Colony Sarff asked.

"Don't know." Shirai said, hands on her keyboard. "He could be anywhere doing what sissy does. And he's not Davros' problem either."

"The Doctor and the Black Pearl required."

"Um, what are they required for?" Uiharu asked. "Colony Sarff, we need to know. What does the Creator of the Daleks want with the Doctor and Jared?"

Sarff turns and leaves.

(Jared's POV)

Karn…

Thunder rumbles in the air. We are in the same location as the Prologue.

"Welcome, Colony Sarff. We are the Sisterhood of Karn. If you do not leave our world immediately, we will take your skin." Ohila said.

"Where are the Doctor and the Black Pearl?" Colony Sarff asked.

"Where they always are. Right behind you, and one step ahead. Tread carefully when you seek the Doctor and Jared, Colony Sarff, or they will be the last things you find."

"Davros, creator of the Daleks, dark Lord of Skaro."

"What of him?"

"Davros is dying." Colony Sarff said.

"Davros is ancient. He should have been dust centuries ago." Ohila said.

"He has a message for the Doctor and the Black Pearl."

"Then you will give it to me." Ohila said, as Colony Sarff writhes as if trying to change shape or something. "Your powers mean nothing here. Give me the message and leave."

"Tell the Doctor and Jared, Davros knows. Davros remembers. Tell them they must face Davros one last time." Colony Sarff said, and there is thunder and lightning, before he leaves. "Davros knows. Davros remembers."

When it is out of sight, Ohila turns round.

"Doctor? Jared? What have you done?" Ohila asked, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Something we regret doing. I left Remnant again to not have Team RWBY involved with this." I said, while the Doctor and I doesn't meet Ohila's eyes.

Rocky and dark, as usual. The Doctor and I talking with the Head of the Sisterhood last seen in Night of the Doctor. Other sisters are standing around the edge of a large pool holding burning torches.

"He has asked to see you both. His servants seek the two of you everywhere. Will you go?" Ohila asked.

"No." The Doctor said.

"Nope." I said, clutching the strap of my sling bag.

"Why do the both of you always lie?" Ohila asked, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Why do you always assume we're lying?" The Doctor asked.

"Because secrets protect us. They keep us safe. That's why we lie." I said, looking down at the floor. "We lie in fear of hurting ourselves or others. I lie because of my foreknowledge. And I give hints when I have to."

"Jared's right. It saves time. The truth - will you and Jared go?" Ohila asked.

"No." The Doctor said.

"When?"

"We're going soon." I said, taking out chocolate chip cookies out of my sling bag to snack on them.

"Why? Did something happen like Jared said?" Ohila asked.

"No." The Doctor said.

"Yeah. Something did happen." I said, tossing a chocolate chip cookie into my mouth and snacking on it.

"So, something did happen. Was it recent?" Ohila asked.

"Yes." The Doctor said.

"Whatever it was, the two of you owe that creature nothing." Ohila said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Davros and I've known each other a long time."

"You and Davros have been enemies as you and Jared have been friends for all of it."

"An enemy's just a friend you don't really know yet. Sorry. What, was that me being cynical again?" The Doctor asked.

"Yup." I said, laughing a lot. "It was, Doctor Disco. And you're friends with Ohila here. You've known her longer than me."

"That's different. I don't like her!"

"Which means you can trust me." Ohila said, laughing. "Jared trusts me."

"You know who to give that to?" The Doctor asked, giving Ohila a large metal disc with engraving on it. "We won't go straight away. We'll hang out for a bit. Probably meditate on a rock somewhere. Get ourselves ready."

"You and Jared are embarking on an enterprise that will end in your destruction together." Ohila said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"You could say that about being born." The Doctor said, scoffing.

"Doctor, wherever you go with Jared, there are people who care enough to find you both." Ohila said.

"We know, Ohila. I worked so hard to find people that would help protect Earth." I said, looking down at the floor. "Especially when I'm gone. When I'm gone."

"You're right, Jared. You are absolutely right." The Doctor said, pulling me off the ground. "Look after the universe for us. We've put a lot of work into it."

"Anyone can hide from an enemy, Doctor, Jared. No one from a friend." Ohila said, letting out a sigh.

Doctor's room…

I hear Hollywood style Arthurian / Robin Hood fanfare as we fly over a lake and into a castle room, where the Doctor is sitting on the floor facing the window, lit by candles. I am playing Xenoblade Chronicles X on my Nintendo Switch. A fire blazes in a hearth to our left. A bearded man dressed in leather armour with an embossed chest piece enters.

"How many days have we been here?" The Doctor asked.

"About three hours." Bors said.

"Three hours?"

"Well, nearly."

"Maybe Clara's right. She keeps telling me I've got Attention Deficit er something or other." The Doctor saId, drinking from the same goblet that Paul McGann used in Night of the Doctor.

"At least it isn't Aspegers." I saId, looking up from my game. "This is why I don't like red wine."

"Fair enough." The Doctor said, as his wine doesn't taste nice. "How is it exploring the planet Mira?"

"It's fun. Bit bored now."

"Doctor, Jared, what is your journey?" Bors asked, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Bors, you can't come with us." I said, putting my Nintendo Switch into sleep mode and into my sling bag.

"I'm pledged to your service and the Doctor's service ever since you saved my life, Jared."

"Bors, I didn't save your life. You had a splinter. I used my ghost powers to make you intangible and get the splinter out."

"Where is it you go with the Doctor, and why must he meditate and you game first?"

"Someone we know is very sick. He'll want to see us before…" The Doctor said, pausing a moment to think. "…while there's still time."

"Yeah." I said, taking out some jelly babies out of my sling bag to snack on them. "I usually like to travel. Don't see much point right now. Except to see this person."

"An old friend?" Bors asked.

"No. Jared is my old friend. One of my best friends. I've known him for centuries. This person we have to see is someone else. Someone we've known a very long time." The Doctor said, grabbing a jelly baby from my hand to munch on them.

"If there is danger, let me ride at your side." Bors said, happily.

You can't help us, not where we're going. We have to get ourselves ready. We have to be alone. We have to think. No more distractions." The Doctor said.

"And I have to come up with one of my plans." I said, taking out my iPhone 16 Pro Max and opened the Notes App. "I know that the road ahead is going to be long. The adventures I might possibly have after this. Need to plan for those too."

"As you wish, Sir Doctor and Sir Jared." Bors said, turning to leave.

"Urgh." The Doctor said, taking another drink from the goblet. "Hang on a minute."

"Doctor, the water." I said, tossing a jelly baby into my mouth. "It's worse than the drinking water in the Old West."

"You're right." The Doctor said, standing up. "The water."

"The water, sir?" Bors asked.

"We don't like it. I can't meditate and Jared can't game properly without decent water." The Doctor said, handing the goblet to Bors and walked out with me. "So, Vacuo."

"Bubba Bubba Boba. The flavors, the milk tea, the smoothies, and the boba." I said, while Bors sniffs the liquid. "Love getting bubble tea with Ruby and Yang. Should do that again after seeing you know who."

Outside the castle…

Outside the castle, peasants are following the Doctor and I with shovels.

"Okay. So, um, we're gonna dig a well. Right here. On this spot." I said, smiling. "There's going to be amazing water here. It's going to be easy peasy.."

"How'd you know?" Bors asked.

"I'm good with water. And I am from the future and from another universe where all this was a TV show." I said, clutching the strap of my sling bag. "Not used to not filtered water."

Day 5

"This has to be the spot for water." I said, taking out a Mango White Claw out of my sling bag and drinking it. "It has to be."

"But, Sir Jared, this is the twelfth place you've made us dig." Bors said, looking over at me.

"Twelve is the Doctor's lucky number. And mine was five." I said, drinking the Mango White Claw. "Still good."

Groans from the peasants. Days 8-11.

"Here. Nope. Not there." I said, drinking a mint chocolate chip milkshake. "Here's good. Just look at this grass. It's wet. Let's follow it! Yippee!"

Day 12. The deep stone-lined well is complete and the workers exhausted. Bors draws a bucket of water.

"Well, you and Sir Doctor have all the water you need now and it is the finest in the land. Sir Doctor, your meditation can begin. And Sir Jared, you can start your plans and play your games." Bors said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Yes, I suppose it can. Except." The Doctor said, sadly.

"Except?"

"Jared, do you know what this well really needs?" The Doctor asked.

"Nothing. It's perfect." Bors said, annoyed.

"Yup." I said, looking down at the floor. "I do. What do you think it needs, Doctor Disco?"

"A visitor's centre." The Doctor said, happily. "So, what do you want in there?"

Bors lets the bucket drop back down the well.

"A Shake Shack, an Auntie Anne's, a Starbucks, a convenience store, and some bathrooms." I said, smiling. "That one is based off of the one I used to get back home from Atlantic City."

Day 17. The Doctor is making coins disappear from his hands whilst sitting in a deck chair by a camp fire and imitating Tommy Cooper as I am watching dooby on Twitch off my iPhone 16 Pro Max, when Bors walks up to us.

"Everyone has agreed on the plan for the throne room extension and the restaurants, but we're not quite sure what he means by a sun roof and what you mean by burgers." Bors said, frowning.

"Look at this coin. You see it?" The Doctor asked.

Bors is putting down his armful of scrolls, "I see it."

The Doctor waves his hands about, "Where is it now?"

"There." Bors said, pointing to the correct hand.

"Nope, it isn't." I said, looking up from my phone.

"Yes, it is. I saw it."

"Are you sure? I'm really a very good magician." The Doctor said, smirking.

"Doctor? What is it you and Jared dread?" Bors asked.

"Why would we dread anything?"

"Doctor, you're always making jokes. Jared is always watching comedians on his tablet with a screen along with eating or drinking things. Neither of you ever sit still, like you two are running in fear of days to come."

"I thought you were an idiot."

"I know. I thought that too." Bors said, letting out a sigh.

"Well, that's good." I said, placing my phone back inside my sling bag. "Was worried the Doctor would have to break the news to you. He's bad at things like that."

Doctor's room…

Day 21 - we climb the stairs to the chamber.

"Are you sure?" Bors asked.

"Yeah. We're sure." I said, looking down at the floor.

"Jared and I have been avoiding it. One last night, then we have to go." The Doctor said.

"Do you and Jared wish to be alone?" Bors asked.

"We have to prepare ourselves."

"But why? You and Jared have never explained." Bors said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Doctor, we have to tell him." I said, rearranging the candles.

"Alright." The Doctor said, sadly. "We did something wrong. We let somebody down when we should have been brave enough and strong enough to do better. Tomorrow, we pay the price. Tonight, we make ourselves ready."

The Doctor sits down as I lie down on the floor.

"Goodbye, Magician, Huntsman. The two of you have widened my mind." Bors said, smiling.

The Doctor stands and puts his hand on Bors' shoulder, "You do realise you're still an idiot."

"Yeah."

"Good. I have to be quiet now. Jared's being quiet. Quiet as the grave."

"I do not believe you and Sir Jared are capable of silence." Bors said, frowning.

"Oh? Oh, well, we'll see about that, shall we?" The Doctor asked.

"We shall, Sir Doctor, Sir Jared." Bors said, leaving.

"Doctor, I'm tired." I said, opening my eyes and watching the Doctor make chalk marks on the floor whilst muttering to himself. "I wanna sleep."

"Then sleep, Jared. No more distractions. Got to focus. No more distractions. Bors!" The Doctor said, and Bors returned. "Are you any good with a broadsword?"

"Yes." Bors said.

The Doctor holds up his spoon, "Fancy a friendly?"

"Enough, Magician, Huntsman! Magician, I do not believe that you will meditate. And Huntsman, I do not believe you will plan. It is not in your respective natures. If this is to be your last night here then we shall celebrate. There shall be revels. But first past, Sir Doctor, tell me your story with Jared. Tell me how the two of you came to this place and why now you both are compelled to leave it. I will not depart this room until you do so." Bors said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"I suppose we do owe you." The Doctor said, standing.

"We do owe Bors, Doctor." I said, smiling.

"I have served you loyally, Sir Doctor, Sir Jared." Bors said.

"Yeah. You have."

Then, Sir Doctor, begin your tale."

"Well, a little while ago, a very long way from here, Jared and I were looking for a bookshop. Instead, we found a battlefield. Story of our life. We've seen many battlefields. But this one will be different. This one will be our last." The Doctor said, over his memory of sound of machine guns and cries on a muddy battlefield.

(Open POV)

Davros' room…

Davros is hooked up to a lot of tubes, with his head resting on one hand and a sonic screwdriver in the other, "Doctor. Jared. Doctor. Jared. Doctor. Jared."

"You are dreaming, Lord Davros." Colony Sarff said.

"No. I am anticipating." Davros said.

"They cannot be found."

"Of course they can. They have a weakness. The same weakness. If you seek the Doctor and Jared, first seek their friends."

Classroom…

A boy spits his chewing gum into a waste basket held by his teacher.

"Will I get it back after school?" Ryan asked.

"Urgh!" The children said, disgusted.

"How will you know which one's yours?" Clara asked, getting general laughter from the class. "Fine, then. Right. Now, where was I? Jane Austen. Amazing writer, brilliant comic observer, and strictly among ourselves, a phenomenal kisser."

Clara pauses, staring out of the window.

"Miss? Miss?" Alison asked.

"Miss?" Ryan asked, staring at an aeroplane motionless in mid-air.

"Is she okay?"

Clara gets a marker pen from her desk and draws a circle on the window pane.

"Everybody turn on their phones. News websites and Twitter." Clara said, opening the window and looks out, then closes it again.

The aeroplane is in the same place.

"Twitter?" Ryan asked.

"Hashtag, #ThePlanesHaveStopped." Clara said.

Breaking news, several newsreaders over various images of aeroplanes over cities.

"Reports are coming in of planes hanging apparently motionless in the sky." A BBC newsreader said.

"Footage of passenger jets, which have seemingly come to a complete standstill in mid-air." A TV newsreader said.

Classroom…

"Miss Oswald, a call at the office." Mr Dunlop said.

"Yeah, that would probably be UNIT." Clara said.

"They're telling me you're needed. They were going to put me through to the Prime Minister."

"Mister Dunlop, sorry. I have to take the rest of the day off owing to a, er, personal crisis."

Outside the school…

Running whilst on her mobile phone.

"Yes. Yes, yes, yes, I'm coming. No, don't send a helicopter. Think it through." Clara said, her phone near her ear.

"Attempts at communications with the planes, with pilots, crew, passengers, all have failed." The newsreader said, over the speaker.

There are a jumble of reports in various major Earth languages while Clara rides her motorbike through the streets.

"Family members with candlelight vigils around the world. Meanwhile, reports are coming in from Caracas, Tel Aviv, Beijing. It seems no corner of the planet is unaffected." The newsreader said, over the speaker.

Clara arrives at the Tower of London.

UNIT HQ…

"The planes aren't responding. No, none of them. It's radio silence. I've got to go. Tell the President I'll call him back." Kate said, as Clara entered. "The Doctor's not answering his phone. Have you tried?"

"We don't know enough yet. The Doctor doesn't appreciate gossip." Clara said, frowning. "Jared usually likes gossip."

"Gossip?" Kate asked.

"How many planes?" Clara asked.

"4,165 aircraft currently airborne." Jac said, looking at a monitor.

"That's a lot of passengers." Kate said.

"That's a lot of fuel." Clara said.

"Oh, dear God. Yes, it is."

"Okay, so, what could you do with 4,000 flying bombs?"

"Ah, well, 439 nuclear power stations currently active." Jac said.

"What else?" Kate asked.

"I dunno. Er, fault lines. Earthquake, a tsunami?" Clara asked.

"Running simulations now." Jac said.

"So this is an attack?" Kate asked.

"What kind of an attack advertises? Why show somebody what you can do? Why not just do it? What's actually happened to the planes? What are the pilots saying?" Clara asked.

"We, we can't contact them."

"The planes haven't stopped. They're actually frozen. Like, frozen in time. Pardon my sci-fi, but this is beyond any human technology." Jac said, frowning.

"Okay, so we need the Doctor and Jared." Kate said, happily.

"Kate, we can't just phone the Doctor and bleat, he'll go Scottish. We can just phone Jared and bleat, he'll go in guns blazing with his recently acquired ghost powers. And he's probably in Vacuo hanging out with Team RWBY." Clara said, smiling. "Come on. What have we got? What do we know? It's not an attack, it's not an invasion, because, well, that doesn't come with a fair warning. So, somebody needs our attention. Somebody who needs to put a gun to our heads to make us listen. Oh."

"Oh?" Kate asked.

"We've got a message. The Doctor channel." Mike said, looking at a monitor.

"Sorry, what?" Clara asked.

"The Doctor never uses it. I doubt he remembers it even exists. Jared knows it exists and uses it to keep us in the know of his adventures on Earth." Kate said.

"Then who is it?"

"Decrypting. We're getting text through, I think." Mike said, typing away on a keyboard.

"Texting? Definitely not the Doctor. Definitely more of Jared's style." Clara said.

The computer beeps as it creates the letters on screen.

"You so fine." The text said.

"Have you got any more?" Kate asked.

"Coming." Mike said.

"You blow my mind. Hey Missy, you so fine, you so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Missy!!!" The text said.

"Today, I shall be talking to you out of…" Missy said, on the monitor, before she was suddenly 3D. "…the square window!"

"What the hell was that? How did she do that?" Kate asked.

"Dunno. Some sort of psychic projection, or something." Jac said.

"Oh great, thanks." Kate said, annoyed.

"Okay, cutting to the chase. Not dead, back, big surprise, never mind. I'm in a lovely little square in one of your, oh, I don't know, hot countries. There's a light breeze coming from the east, this coffee is a buzz-monster in my brain, and I'm going to need eight snipers." Missy said, on the monitor.

"Eight what?"

"Three for each heart, and two for my brain stem. You'll have to switch me off fast, before I can regenerate. How fast can you get here? Ooo, I'll need to arrange you a flight corridor." Missy said, on the monitor.

Missy licks her finger before pressing buttons on her controller.

"Why do you need snipers?" Kate asked.

"Because it's the only way she'll feel safe enough to talk to me. Shall we say four o'clock?" Missy asked, on the monitor.

Mediterranean plaza…

A church bell tolls four times. Missy is the only person at the tables at the bottom of the church steps. UNIT snipers take up their positions on the surrounding rooftops. She looks down and sees six red laser dots dancing on her bosom.

"Oh, saucy." Missy said, using her compact mirror to check that the other two are aiming at her brain stem.

Two black cars arrive, and Secret Service types get out, then Clara. The collared doves scatter as she walks over to Missy, who gestures for her to sit.

"Go on, then." Missy said, smirking.

Clara sits opposite Missy, who sips at her espresso.

"How's your boyfriend? Still tremendously dead, I expect. And it looks like Jared enjoyed his time in Silica City." Missy said.

"Still dead, yeah. And Jared did like hanging out with Tari and Theo. How come you're still alive?" Clara asked.

"Death is for other people, dear. Would you like to sit in the shade? I know how you humans burn." Missy said, using her controller, and the shadow of a jumbo jet moves over them. "Better? I expect you've tried to contact them by now. Well, you should know, I can't find them either. No one can."

"That happens, now and then." Clara said.

"Not like this." Missy said, putting the etched disc from the Prologue on the table. The one the Doctor gave to Ohila. "It's a confession dial."

"A what?"

"In your terms, a will. The Last Will and Testament of the Time Lord known as the Doctor, to be delivered, according to ancient tradition, to his closest friend, on the eve of his final day." Missy said, and Clara reaches for it, and gets an electric shock. "Ah, ah! What are you doing?"

"You said. I thought." Clara said, sadly.

"No, no, no, no, no. It was delivered to me." Missy said.

"You?"

"Well of course it was sent to me. What have you got to do with it? I'm his friend. You and Jared are just…"

"We're just what?"

"See that couple over there?" Missy asked, as a man and a woman walk through with their dog. "You and Jared are the puppies."

"Since when do you care about the Doctor?" Clara asked.

"Since always. Since the Cloister Wars. Since the night he stole the moon and the President's wife. Since he was a little girl. One of those was a lie. Can you guess which one?" Missy asked.

"The Doctor's not your friend. You keep trying to kill him."

"The Doctor keeps trying to kill me. It's sort of our texting. We've been at it for ages."

"Mmm. Must be love." Clara said, rolling her eyes.

"Oh, don't be disgusting. We're Time Lords, not animals. Try, nano-brain, to rise above the reproductive frenzy of your noisy little food chain, and contemplate friendship. A friendship older than your civilisation, and infinitely more complex." Missy said.

"So the Doctor is your bezzy mate and I'm supposed to believe that you've turned good?"

"Good?" Missy asked, using her controller to disintegrate a Secret Service man.

"Man down!" The soldier yelled, nearby.

"No!" Clara cried, getting up and goes towards where the man was.

"Man down!"

UNIT HQ…

"Don't shoot her. Do not shoot her!" Kate said, worried.

Mediterranean plaza…

"By the ring on his finger, he was married, and I, I think I detected some baby leakage on his jacket, so he had a family. No, I've not turned good. I'm not like Loki, the God of Mischief." Missy said, shooting another man. "Yes. I know about Loki and the Chitauri invasion in New York. I know Jared was there too. Also know about Ragnarok and Malekith. Norse mythology is something Jared believes in. Apparently."

UNIT HQ…

"Nobody fire!" Kate said, angrily.

Mediterranean plaza…

"Ooh, wow, I'm on a roll. Thanks for bringing spares." Missy said, smugly.

"Stop it. Just stop it. Don't shoot anybody else!" Clara said, terrified.

"Oi, you, sweaty one, on your knees. Let's have a goodbye selfie for your kids." Missy said, as the man obeys.

"Missy, nobody else!" Clara yelled.

"Say something nice." Missy cooed.

"No."

"I'll kill everyone in this square."

"Start with me. Then what, hey? You came here for my help."

"Because the Doctor and Jared are in danger." Missy said.

"Make me believe you." Clara said.

"How?"

"Release the planes."

"The planes are keeping me alive." Missy said, pointing a finger at the snipers. "I mean, there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight naughty little snipers ready to kill me."

"Yeah. On my command." Clara said, holding up her arm. "Your best friend and my best friend are in danger. Show me you care. Make me believe."

Missy uses her controller and waves the aeroplane shadow goodbye. It flies off.

UNIT HQ…

"The planes! The planes are all moving again." Jac said, in awe.

Mediterranean plaza…

"It's only a basic Time Stop. Parlour trick. Couldn't have done anything with them anyway." Missy said.

Clara lowers her hand, "What does it say?"

"What does what say?" Missy asked.

"The Doctor's confession." Clara said.

"It will only open when the Doctor's dead."

"Then it won't open, will it?"

"Question. If the Doctor and Jared have one last night to live, if they're certain he's facing the end of their lives, where, in all of space and time, would he go?" Missy asked.

"Here." Clara said.

Someone somewhere claps. An agent brings a laptop to their table.

"Well, yes, Earth, obviously! But where? When?" Missy asked.

Two more claps as Clara works the keyboard.

UNIT HQ…

"The algorithm generates probabilities based on crisis points, anomalies, anachronisms, keywords." Jac said.

"Such as?" Jac asked.

"Blue box, Doctor. With our fanboy, it's the keywords 'fairy tale, Jared'." Jac said, and Clara and Missy are on the screen as more people applaud in 1138AD. "There we go. For the Doctor, San Martino, Troy, multiples for New York…"

Mediterranean plaza…

"…and three possible versions of Atlantis. And for Jared, Mitakihara City, Tomoeda City, Tokyo, multiples for Los Angeles, multiples for New York, multiples for Cardiff, and three possible versions of Hill Valley. It's easier than you'd think. The Doctor and Jared make a lot of noise and they love to make an entrance." Jac said, over the laptop speaker.

Essex. Bors, the bearded warrior from Meditation wielding a double-headed axe in an arena as tumblers enter under the portcullis.

UNIT HQ…

"But which one is the one? Where are they now?" Kate asked.

Mediterranean plaza…

"How's a Time Lord supposed to die? I know how Jared's supposed to die, since he is half human now." Clara said.

"Meditation. Repentance and acceptance." Missy said.

UNIT HQ…

"Contemplation of the absolute." Missy said, on the screen.

"Great, thanks. Change the algorithm. Eliminate the crisis points. Where are the Doctor and Jared making the most noise, but there isn't any crisis?" Clara asked, on the screen.

Mediterranean plaza…

"We're looking for a party." Clara said, letting out a sigh. "One where glow sticks are used instead of having your phone out and singing along with the performers. A party that was helped set up by Jared's friends. I do know what one of my best friend's favorite things is."

Lots of lights go out on the UNIT world map until just one is left - in the UK.

"There they are. 'Do not go gentle into that good night'." Clara said, happily.

"You go, girl!" Missy cooed, putting something on Clara's wrist, and they vanish.

Castle ramparts…

Then drop onto castle ramparts. It night time and the place is lit by burning torches.

"Whoo, whoo whoo! Mummy, do it again!" Missy said, excitedly. "Vortex manipulators. Yours is slaved to mine. Cheap and nasty time travel."

The courtyard below has wooden stands around it, filled with the peasants and other castle residents. Bors is waving his axe around. These must be the revels after the Meditation.

"Face me, Magician. Huntsman! Face me!" Bors yelled.

"You probably want to throw up, don't you? Pick a local. According to you, this is where the Doctor and Jared are." Missy said.

"Okay, how do we find them? How do we know what we're looking for?" Clara asked.

"Anachronisms. The slightest, tiniest…" Missy said, while an electric guitar riff fills the area. "Anachronisms."

(Jared's POV)

Castle courtyard…

"Blazing on by. There's nothing more that I could do. I'm sorry that I'll never be with you again. Even though, my heavy heart is parched with pain. I know somehow your sorrow's something I won't see." I said, singing, with my voice coming out of a speaker. "It's my life. I'm moving on and never going back there. The future's turned away. And leave me on the lonely rail."

The Doctor enters under the portcullis on a tank, playing rock guitar and wearing shades.

"God knows that I will follow you if that is what you wanted. Take me into all your darkest shadows. And you'll see that I'm even stronger than you could know. God knows that I am standing here and you could disappear. Slipping right over the edge of the future. If I had my way, we'd be together forever. Eternally god bless." I said, singing, with my voice coming out of a speaker. "The way you're standing there, I feel as though we're almost one again. And yet, we're miles apart in time. Beneath the pale blue moon, I see your eyes are glistening with so much love! It's tearing you apart to be here!"

I enter under the portcullis on my hoverboard, playing rock guitar and wearing shades too. The crowd loved it.

"You know it. God knows that I will follow you if that is what you wanted. Take me into all your darkest shadows. And you'll see that I'm even stronger than you could know." I said, singing, with my voice coming out of a speaker. "God knows that I am standing here and you could disappear. Slipping right over the edge of the future. If I had my way, we'd be together forever. Eternally god bless."

Bors lowers his axe in despair. The Doctor and I finish the riff and bos to the Lord and Lady as his speakers give feedback. The Doctor is wearing checkered trousers and a black frock coat. I am wearing a Gawr Gura hoodie and jeans underneath.

"Dude! What is that?" Bors asked, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Singing 'God knows…'." I said, happily. "And you said you wanted an axe fight."

Some chuckles.

"Oh, come on. In a few hundred years, that'll be really funny. It's a slow burner." The Doctor said, smiling.

"Musical instruments are not axes." Bors said, sadly.

"Yes, and a daffodil is not a broadsword, but Jared and I still won the last round!" The Doctor yelled.

"We did." I said, holding Yui Hirasawa's guitar. "We totally did, Doctor Disco."

The crowd cheers.

"What do you think of my tank? Don't worry, it isn't loaded." The Doctor said.

"I don't like it." Bors said, frowning.

"No, neither do I." The Doctor said.

"I do." I said, squeezing the handle of the guitar. "It is a bit fishy."

"Ha." The Doctor said, smirking. "I bought it for my fish."

"Your fish?" Bors asked.

"I may have ordered online!" The Doctor cheered, getting complete silence. "Oh, come on. Fish? Tank? Honestly, this stuff will be hilarious in a very few hundred years. Do please stick around."

"Oh sweet Neptune, this is going to be bad." I said, letting out a sigh.

"What's the matter with them? They're never like this. Jared's only like this when he thinks he lost Team RWBY." Clara said.

"Oh, you really are new, aren't you?" Missy asked.

"I can't do anything without you. I miss eating meals you make. If you come back home to me, I'm going to hug you with a big smile. I can't apologize without you. I miss hearing your voice. All I want you to do is let me see your smile." I said, looking up at the ramparts, directly at Clara, singing and playing on the guitar. "I felt inspired whenever you were by my side. I wish to be with you forever. I want the chance to tell you so. Come rain or come shine, you were always around me. Behind my eyelids, I can see your beaming smile."

"Wait, hang on. Did Jared just hear that? Jared and the Doctor don't know we're here, do they?" Clara asked, looking at Missy.

"I can't manage without you. Where are the sugar and soy sauce? If you came back home to me, I wouldn't be able to surprise you." I said, singing and playing the rest of U&I from K-On! on the guitar. "I know I leaned on you too often. That's because you were so kind. You gave me so much while I gave you so little.  I took it for granted that you were by my side. I thought we'd get along forever. You'd be there for me every day. Sorry, I've just realized, I shouldn't have taken it for granted. First of all, I must tell you. I'm grateful for you. Can I reach your heart? I'm not sure I can. Please listen without laughing. This song shows my feelings. With all my gratitude. I'm going to sing this for you. I'll never ever forget how I feel about you. I hope you know it."

"Now, you lot. We have been here all day, and it's been a great day!" The Doctor said, angrily.

"You and Jared have been here for three weeks." Bors said, scoffing.

"Three weeks? It must be nearly bedtime. Well, we've partied." The Doctor said, getting cheers from the crowd. "Yes! We helped you dig a well, with a first-class, child-friendly visitor's centre! I've given you some top-notch maths tuition in a fun but relevant way."

"I let you all play video games and jam out to concerts from HoloLive, VShojo, and Nijisanji." I said, placing my guitar inside my sling bag. "You guys nailed the  KAHEN 3-REN MIX. Which is a chant used for Diamond City Lights by Lazu Light."

"You are completely right, Jared." The Doctor said, smirking. "And I have also introduced the word 'dude' several centuries early. Let us hear you!"

"Dude!" The audience yelled.

"Are you a Renaissance?" The Doctor asked.

"Dude!"

"Are you a Medieval?"

"Dude!"

The Doctor points at a young man in armour, "We are dragon-slaying?"

"Dude!" The audience said, angrily.

"We are all the young?" The Doctor asked.

"Dudes!"

"I like it."

"Same." I said, clutching the strap of my sling bag.

"Glad you do, Jared. But we've got some sad news for you, dudes. Tonight, we're going to have to leave you." The Doctor said.

We hear cries of no from the audience.

"But before we do, we'd like you to meet a couple of friends of ours." The Doctor said, getting ahs from the crowd, then applause and cheering.

Clara enters the courtyard and waves shyly, "Doctor? Jared? How did you know I was here? Did you see me?"

"Clara, I've known you for centuries. When do we not see you? My Impossible Girl!" I said, running up to Clara for a hug. "I've missed you."

"What, one face in all of that crowd?" Clara asked.

"Wait! There was a crowd too? Didn't know."

"Wow, we're doing the 'playing dumb' as well, now, are we? Which one of us is dying with the Doctor?" Clara asked.

"Don't know." I said, while the Doctor suddenly joins the group hug I am having with Clara.

"Okay. And we're doing the group hugging now, too. I can't keep up." Clara said, annoyed.

"Well, you know what they say. Hugging is a great way to hide your face." The Doctor said, happily.

"Okay, look. I guessed a party, but not like this. I can see the glowsticks. That means that holograms of the VTubers Jared watched help set up a concert from the future here in the past. What is this? Doctor? Jared? This isn't you." Clara said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"I spent all day yesterday in a bow tie, the day before in a long scarf. Jared spent all day yesterday wearing a coat based off Neptune from Planeptune, the day before wearing the outfit of the virtual YouTuber known as dooby.  It's our party, and all of me and Jared's friends are invited." The Doctor said, riffing Mickie as Missy enters.

"What the hell are you up to with Jared, man?" Missy asked.

"It's the wicked stepmother! Everyone hiss!" The Doctor cried.

Discordant chord and hisses as Missy bows and flourishes her handkerchief.

"Apparently, you and Jared think the both of you are going to die tomorrow." Missy said, holding up the confession disc.

"Well, I've got some good news about that." The Doctor said, smiling.

"Oh, yeah?" Missy asked.

"It's still today!" The Doctor cheered.

"Oh, that's very good." Missy said.

Guitar wah, wah, wah. Bors starts choking.

"Bors. Is it a marble again? Did you swallow one of the marbles I gave you? Don't swallow marbles!" The Doctor said, pulling a banded snake from around Bors' throat and throws it away.

It slithers under the robes of Colony Sarff.

"Doctor. Black Pearl. Your friends have led me to you. You two will come." Colony Sarff said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Says you and whose army?" The Doctor asked.

The segments of Sarff's face turn in different directions, like the coils of a snake. Its robe drops to reveal that it is a giant serpent with lots of small snakes around it.

"The one that wants to give a hissing fit." I said, and the crowd fled.

"Nobody dies here. Not one person, not one of our friends, do you understand?" The Doctor asked.

"Davros, creator of the Daleks, dark lord of Skaro, is dying." Colony Sarff said.

"We've heard." I said, looking down at the ground.

"He would speak with the two of you again on the last night of his life." Colony Sarff said.

"Then you will harm nobody in this place. Not one person. Are we very, very clear?" The Doctor asked.

Sarff recoils itself into its humanoid form, "Are you so dangerous, little men?"

"You want to know how dangerous we are? Davros sent you. You know how stupid you are? Huh! You came!" The Doctor said, angrily.

"You don't know the mistake you've made!" I cried, letting electrical shocks out of my body. "I'm the Storyteller. But I'm also the Black Pearl. I'm also an enemy of the Daleks."

Sarff hisses.

"Is that supposed to frighten us? Snake nest in a dress? Now, explain, politely. Davros is our arch-enemy. Why would we want to talk to him?" The Doctor asked.

"No, wait, hang on a minute. Davros is your and Jared's arch-enemy now?" Missy asked. "Jared, I thought Vlad Plasmius was your arch enemy."

"Shut…up." I said, under my breath.

"I'll scratch his eye out." Missy said, smirking.

"Davros knows. Davros remembers." Colony Sarff said, holding out the sonic screwdriver then throws it to the ground near the Doctor, who hangs his head.

I'm still looking down at the floor guilty, clutching the strap of my sling bag.

"Doctor, that's yours." Clara said, frowning. "That's your sonic screwdriver. It's not Jared's."

"Er, it was." The Doctor said.

"Was?" Clara asked.

"I don't have a screwdriver any more." The Doctor said.

"Ooo. Never seen that before." Missy said, looking between the Doctor and I. "Doctor, Jared, the looks on your faces. What is that?"

"Shame. You two are ashamed. Doctor? Jared? What have you both done?" Clara asked,.

"Please, you've got to help me. You said I could survive! You said you and your friend would help me! Help me!" Young Davros said, as a memory.

The TARDIS dematerialises from the battlefields of Skaro. The Doctor and I go to Colony Sarff.

"So, is your ship in orbit?" I asked, grabbing the Doctor's hand.

"Doctor, Jared, it's a trap." Missy said.

"Prepare yourselves for teleport." Colony Sarff said.

"Doctor, Jared, listen to me. I know traps, traps are my flirting. This is a trap."

"I am prepared." The Doctor said.

"Same here." I said, squeezing the Doctor's hand.

"Doctor, you sent me your confession dial. Jared, you're protecting Team RWBY from this by keeping them in Vacuo. Doctor, Jared, you threw yourselves a three week party. The both of you know what this is." Missy said.

"Yes. Goodbye." The Doctor said, frowning. "Goodbye, Clara."

"Goodbye, my Impossible Girl." I said, laughing a little. "Thank you. And goodbye."

The Doctor turns around, and one of Sarff's colony of snakes binds the Time Lord's wrists behind his back. I turn around, and one of Sarff's colony of snakes binds my  wrists behind my back.

"We're coming with them. Both of us, her and me." Clara said.

Missy and Clara join us and hold their hands behind their backs too.

"No! No, no, no. Under no circumstances! What are you doing now?" The Doctor asked.

"Voting. We are a democracy. It is agreed." Colony Sarff said.

Snakes already bind Missy and Clara's wrists.

"No, no, no! I forbid it, no! No! No! No! No!" The Doctor said, terrified.

We all vanish. Bors comes out of hiding, slack-jawed. Then he goes blank-faced.

(Open POV)

Castle…

Bors walks into a room and opens a chest, throwing the contents on the floor. Then he pulls back a curtain to reveal the TARDIS. When he turns back to us, he has a Dalek eyestalk protruding from his forehead.

"Inform High Command. It is located. The TARDIS is located." Bors said.

"The TARDIS will be procured." A Dalek said, over the speaker

"Procure the TARDIS. Procure the TARDIS. Procure. Procure." The Daleks said, over the speaker.

(Jared's POV)

Sarff's spaceship…

"Davros is the child of war, a war that wouldn't end. A thousand years of fighting, till nobody could remember why. So Davros, he created a new kind of warrior, one that wouldn't bother with that question. A mutant in a tank that would never, ever stop. And they never did." The Doctor said.

"The Daleks?" Clara asked.

"How scared must you be to seal every one of your own kind inside a tank?" The Doctor asked, pausing for dramatic effect. "Davros made the Daleks, but who made Davros?"

"Spoilers." I said, sadly.

Big whoosh, and stars appear in the front window.

"Okay, great. Coming out of hyperspace." Missy said, sarcastically.

A squat chess pawn or stupa-shaped spacestation spins nearly.

"So that's where he ended up." The Doctor said, his eyes widening.

"What is that?" Clara asked.

"I don't know. A hospital?" The Doctor asked.

Empty room…

Missy sings wordlessly. The acoustics are perfect.

"How long have we been waiting?" Clara asked.

"Who knows? It's always the way with hospitals." The Doctor said.

"It always has been." I said, frowning.

The cabin door opens and Sarff glides in.

"You will come. You will stay." Colony Sarff said.

"Fair enough." Missy said.

"Doctor. You sent Missy your confession dial. Jared. You're keeping Team RWBY safe in Remnant." Clara said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"Well, we've known each other a long time. She's one of my own people." The Doctor said.

"And Team RWBY is family." I said, happily. "I love them. And I want to protect and keep them safe."

"My point is, the three of us saw Missy die on Earth, ages ago. And obviously you and the Doctor knew that wasn't real. Or worse, hoped it wasn't. Either way, I think you and the Doctor have been lying." Clara said.

"I'm sorry." The Doctor said, frowning.

"Don't apologise. Make it up to me. Both of you." Clara said, happily.

"Okay." I said, walking up to Clara to kiss her, before letting go. "How's that?"

"Thank you." Clara said, looking up at me. "There, see? Ha. Now you and the Doctor have to come back."

The Doctor and I leave with Sarff.

"Gravity." The Doctor said, under his breath.

"I know." Missy said.

The door closes. Missy does a tap dance.

"Gravity?" Clara asked.

"Oh, yeah. You know what's wrong with the gravity in here?" Missy asked.

"No."

"Nothing. It's perfect. But this is a space station, so the gravity should be artificial, all coppery-smelling round the edges, a tiny bit sexy." Missy said, switching to an American accent. "But this feels real, man." She went back to her normal Scottish. "Like a planet."

"How can you and the Doctor be friends?" Clara asked.

"Why shouldn't we be?" Missy asked.

"You spend all your time fighting."

"Exactly." Missy said, throwing off the snake that had been binding her wrists. It is dead. "You know what this airlock is? I'll tell you. It's pants."

"What do you mean?" Clara asked.

"I mean that today might be the day."

"What day?"

"The day I kill you." Missy said, walking up to the door.

"What are you doing? Are you opening it?" Clara asked.

"Yeah, course."

"Missy, we'll get sucked out!" Clara cried.

"You and me together, off we go. Let's make jam!" Missy said, blowing the airlock and an alarm sounds.

Davros' room…

Colony Sarff enters, followed cautiously by the Doctor and I.

"Doctor? Jared?" Davros asked, while the life support tubes are raised so we can see the wizened old man better. "Doctor. Jared."

"Davros." The Doctor said.

"I approve of your new face, Doctor. So much more like mine. Colony Sarff, untie our guests' hands." Davros said, as Sarff glides past the Doctor's back and my back, taking the snake away with him. "You may leave us." Sarff obeys. "The two of you came, then."

"Yeah. We did." I said, looking down at the floor.

"Clearly." The Doctor said.

"Did you both suspect a trap?" Davros asked.

"We still do." The Doctor said.

"We definitely do." I said, clutching the strap of my sling bag.

"Then why are the two of you here? Doctor? Did you miss our conversations?" Davros asked, painfully throwing a switch to start a series of clips on a small wall screen.

"If you had created a virus in your laboratory…" The 4th Doctor said, from Genesis of the Daleks.

"I'm not here as your prisoner, Davros…" The 5th Doctor said, from the Resurrection of the Daleks.

"Unimaginable power! Unlimited rice pudding!" The 7th Doctor yelled, from Remembrance of the Daleks.

"Everything we saw. Everything we lost." The 10th Doctor said, from the Stolen Earth.

"Doctor, I was there for that." I said, looking down at the floor.

"But did you bother to tell anyone they might be eating their own relatives?" The 6th Doctor asked, from Revelation of the Daleks.

"Yes, yes, yes, okay, you've made your point." The Doctor said, annoyed.

"Have I?" Davros asked.

"If someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you, and told you that that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?" The 4th Doctor asked, on screen.

The Doctor turns off the recordings, "I get the point."

"Do you know why you came, Doctor, Jared? The two of you have a sense of duty. Of guilt, perhaps. And certainly of shame." Davros said, looking between the Doctor and I.

"You flatter me." The Doctor said.

"Pity. I intended to accuse. I believe that for the ultimate good of the universe, I was right to create the Daleks." Davros said.

"You were very wrong." The Doctor said.

"You shouldn't have created the Daleks." I said, clutching the strap of my sling bag. "They've been a pain in our asses for years."

"Doctor, Jared. This is the argument we've had since we met." Davros said, sadly.

"It ended in the Time War." The Doctor said.

"It survived the Time War. But it will end tonight. That is why you and Jared are here." Davros said, and the alarm sounds. "It seems your friends have gone exploring."

(Open POV)

Outside the hospital…

Clara and Missy stand in the open airlock. Missy puts her arm out.

"It's warm, isn't it?" Missy asked, pausing for a moment to think. "For deep space, anyway."

"What are you doing?" Clara asked.

"Treading softly." Missy said, stepping out cautiously onto nothing visible.

"What, there's a floor?"

"No. No, there's ground. This is the ground." Missy said, while Clara steps out as the Time Lady does a little dance. "We're on a planet. And that is not a space station. That is a building. And the rest of the planet, the whole thing, is invisible."

Clara dances around, "That's ridiculous."

"Well, yes, of course it is. I mean, how would you ever find your glasses? Or the little girl's room? And what if you kissed an ugly? Unless, when you're part of the atmosphere, you start syncing with the spectrum." Missy said.

"Why would anybody hide a whole planet?" Clara asked.

"That would rather depend on the planet, dear." Missy said, as the space station is revealed to be just one of many similar shaped buildings on a desert planet. "No."

Davros' room…

"No!" The Doctor said, worried.

"You didn't!" Jared said, looking out the window to see a planet he didn't want to be on. "I thought things would change with me being here! But it didn't! Why?!"

Planet surface…

They've built it again. They've brought it back. No, no. No!" Missy said, terrified.

"What? What is it? Where are we?" Clara asked.

Davros' room…

"Son of a bitch!" Jared said, fixated on the view of Skaro.

The buildings are all visible from the window.

"Skaro! You've brought me and Jared to Skaro." The Doctor said, looking away and running up to Davros.

"Where does an old man go to die, but with his children?" Davros asked.

Planet surface…

"What's Skaro?" Clara asked.

"The beginning. Where it all started. This is the planet of the Daleks!" Missy cried.

"Correct." A Dalek said.

Davros' room…

"Clara!" Jared said, looking away from the window and running towards the door. "Not Clara…"

"You cannot help her now, Jared." Davros said.

"Clara…" Jared said, thumping on the door. "Have to save…"

Control room…

Missy and Clara are brought in.

"The TARDIS. How did she get here?" Clara asked.

"It has been procured." Dalek Supreme said.

The Red Dalek is on a raised dais. A big laser gun is lowered from the ceiling. Other Daleks from other eras mill about, including the old Battle Dalek.

"Yeah? Yeah, well, if you're trying to get inside, you can't. Nothing can enter the TARDIS." Clara said, smirking.

"The TARDIS will not be entered. The TARDIS will be destroyed." Dalek Supreme said.

"Yeah, well, good luck, because she's indestructible." Clara said, chuckling.

"Did the Doctor tell you that? Because you should never believe a man about a vehicle." Missy said, sadly.

Davros' room…

"What are they going to do? Tell us, what?" The Doctor asked.

"Who can say? You know what children are like." Davros said. "And Jared, I've heard you will become an uncle of a child after you lose everything."

"Trucy Wright…" Jared said, looking at the screen nearby. "No…"

"Daleks! Pay attention!" Missy said, on screen.

"Don't. Just don't." The Doctor said, sadly.

Control room / Davros' room…

"You know what this is? This thing you're about to destroy? I'll tell you! It's the dog's unmentionables. And you know all about those, don't you?" Missy asked, tickling a Dalek's ball. "This is a TARDIS. With this, you can go anywhere, do anything, kill anyone. With this, the Daleks can be more powerful than ever before."

Missy climbs up onto a ledge opposite the TARDIS and the Daleks all turn to look at her. Clara is trying to edge towards the door.

"You just need one thing." Missy said.

"No. Missy, no!" The Doctor said, angrily.

"Me. You need me. A Time Lady, to show you how it works. With this and with me, everything can be yours. And you can burn it all, for ever and ever and ever. (long pause) Or would you rather just kill me?" Missy asked.

The Daleks turn to their leader.

"Maximum extermination." Dalek Supreme said.

"Exterminate." A Dalek said.

The Daleks fire. Missy's skeleton is briefly visible before she is completely gone.

Davros' room…

"Please! Please, we're begging you. Please, please. Please, save Clara." The Doctor said, grabbing Jared's hand.

"Please! Let me swap places with Clara!" Jared said, squeezing the Doctor's hand. "I'll do anything!"

"You two are so similar. I gave the Daleks life. I do not control them." Davros said.

The Daleks all turn to face Clara.

"Oh, Clara. Oh, my Clara." The Doctor said, frowning.

"My Impossible Girl…" Jared said, letting out a lot of tears.

"See how they play with her. See how they toy. They want her to run. They need her to run. Do you feel their need, Doctor, Jared? Their blood is screaming kill, kill, kill! Hunter and prey, held in the ecstasy of crisis. Is this not life at its purest?" Davros asked.

Control room…

Clara runs for the open door.

"Exterminate! Exterminate!" A Dalek yelled.

They fire. Clara screams and vanishes.

Davros' room…

"Why have I ever let you live?" The Doctor asked.

"Why have I let you and a one crazed up fruit loop like Vlad Plasmius live?" Jared asked, looking down at the floor.

"Compassion, Doctor, Jared. It has always been your greatest indulgence. Both of you have always shared the same indulgence. Let this be my final victory. Let me hear the two of you say it, just once. Compassion is wrong." Davros said, looking between the Doctor and Jared.

Control room…

"Destroy the Tardis!" Dalek Supreme said, angrily.

"Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy! Destroy!" The Daleks said, in an ad infinitum.

The big laser and the Daleks all fire at the TARDIS whilst screaming that word, and the console room then the screen goes white.

Battlefield…

Then the white clears to reveal us back where we started.

"Help me! You and your friend can't leave me! You promised. You said I had a chance." Young Davros said, sadly.

The TARDIS door opens. He turns.

"Who are the two of you? I don't get it. How did you both get there?" Young Davros asked.

"We're back. We've come back from the future." Jared said, sadly.

"Are you and your friend going to save me?"

"We're going to save our friend the only way we can." The Doctor said, taking aim with a Dalek gun. "Exterminate!"
