Chapter 7 - You Have To Work To Get Them

In a middle of a lush forest...

Joana was next and her question was simple as well "Do we have a choice? Like, can we refuse?" she asked while her index fingers were circling each other.

Zach then came upfront to answer her, "Actually, you can," Zach started, "This is optional, we still have some time to find the other chosen" Zach added nonchalantly

When Alex and the others heard this, their spirits shot above and beyond. They actually have a choice to return to their daily lives.

"Thank you," Joana said with a hopeful tone

"No problem," Zach nodded,

they both return to their respective group, Estela whispered to Zach, "You don't have to be that straight forward,"

"What choice do I have? Even if I don't say it forward, then.... You should know especially" Zach said while giving a quick glance on Estela,

*sigh*

Elijah was next, and he was the only one who actually looks exited about it, "Ok, lemme recap what we talk so far," He began enthusiastically, "We will be going to another world to save it, But how do we do it? Do we get some special power or something?"

Nile then stepped upfront saying, "Yes you will, after this small talk we will transfer our power to you if you agree, along with generations worth of hero knowledge that come and go to Phantasia,"

Now everyone could see the sparkle in Elijah's eyes, one must know that Elijah is an otaku, he plays games, watch anime, and he's even an athlete, you could say he's a jack of all trades.

"But you won't get anything like op magic right of the start, you have to work to get them," Nile said nonchalantly.

"Well I never expected that from the start anyway," Elijah said trying to hide his emotions, while Alex and the others giggled and chuckled when they saw Elijah's disappointed face.

Elijah then turned to their direction and yelled "Hey what's so funny!"

Not only did it not stopped Alex and the others, it also made them burst into laughter, "Oh man you should've seen your face. HAHAHA~" Alex laughed.

"Yea yea whatever, I heard what I want to hear," Elijah said while walking towards Alex and the others.

Only Alex and Leslie has not yet asked their questions, Alex then said "Ladies first."

As Alex said this, Leslie nodded and took a step forward, and so did Estela.

The air was eerie as no one spoke as they made their way onto the middle of both groups. When they reached the middle, Estela nodded, gesturing Leslie to speak,

Leslie gulped before asking, "Why us...."

Estela has a confused look on her face, "Well just like Ethen said-" Estela was cut short as Leslie rephrased her question,

"No, what I mean is, why specifically us..." Leslie asked one more.

Estela now understood what she meant, "The spirits tend to choose specifically a group of friends, especially friends that were misfit or people looked down on," Estela stated, "We have been watching you these past few weeks, and we have seen everything we need to see and confirm that you guys were the next heroes."

"I see... then thank you for answering me," Leslie bowed as she walked towards her group.

"No problem," Estela nodded as she also walked towards her group.

And then it's Alex's turn...

"Ok, for my question," Alex stopped to see who will go to answer him, seeing that no one is coming upfront, he just continued "Why did each and every one of you only specifically answered one of our questions each." Alex added.

Hearing his question, Estela's group looked at each other waiting to see someone wants to answer. But no one came forth.

As Estela was about to walk forward, she felt a sudden disturbance. Alex's group also felt this but they were unsure what it was, Estela's group then came lightning fast protectively in front of them as they saw what looks like a tear on the air as a figure of woman came out.

Alex this time saw the face of the woman.... "Mom?!"
