We have been walking for hours. It felt like an eternity. Though there was no sun to pelt us, and the cool of the river breeze toned down the temperature, it was still tiring. The soles of my feet burned. This was the longest journey I had done on foot in all the centuries of my life. Mother traveled a lot to assemble her army. However, she often teleported or used the old fashion way of travel: traversing by vehicles, planes, and trains. As cruel as Mother was, I was never subjected to this kind of thing.
With that said, we did cover a huge ground. I called that an achievement. More fruit trees spread out near the riverbank. We got from citrus fruits to the ground produces. I had never seen how sweet potatoes were grown before. It was quite a shock to know they grew under the earth. They had the most beautiful flowers. I snatched some of the roots and hid them in my backpack along with a few other tree suckers.
