Sabastian looked around as I helped Kane wrap the broken edge of his wing. It was not bruised badly enough to hinder him from moving it or flying. He was lucky. The broken branch went through it. The injury could have been worse.
"I don't see anyone," Sabastian notified us.
Little Alzar was nearest to the gatekeeper. If anything, he would have been left behind. He was a skilled fighter for his young age, but he was still a child. I just hoped someone was with him. They could look after him, keep him out of trouble.
Kane flapped his wings to ensure they were usable. "What should we do?"
Sabastian stared up at the mountain. "We continue our journey. It's no use sitting here and waiting. If the others pass through the gate and land somewhere else, it is not a guarantee we will be able to find each other like this. If we can get up that mountain and to the next exit point, then we might have a chance of meeting up with them again."
