Chapter 66 - Battle at Dragons Row

Turning around, he looked at the gate, and felt his mind go numb as he remembered those devilish violet eyes, and the clear brutal threat behind them.

It has been two days since then, and it was still burned into his mind.

Winds blew out from the gate accompanied by the sharp voice which made one feel like a cold blade was pressed against their neck, "A moment."

Though, the Shadokai ferryman didn't care, or simply didn't notice, "Yes, customer."

In a few breaths, a breathtaking beauty stepped out wearing a dark red dress, her violet gaze could make even heroes hearts shiver with lust and fear. Kingdoms would fall for her hand, yet the moment one looked a litter further into her gaze, all they would see is a bloody otherworld filled with nothing but depictions of ones own death, plunging them into an eternal nightmare.

Such was the skill she had created, an extension of her previous burning eyes which allowed her to see, her current eyes could make others see things they shouldn't see. A powerful illusion technique.

Flowering Eyes.

Yet, as one continued to look at her, they soon found her beside another person, a young man whose features were of the nature that were not breathtaking, but that took one's breath away.

Hair of finest silver and eyes of like the finest sword's edge, if one looked too close they may just be cut and go blind for their transgressions, though by who, who knows? The only certainty is that when one stood close to him, it was as though standing beside a naked blade.

Only the strong or foolish would dare.

A smile from such a cold blade would take lives.

"Madam Feng, Sir Shou. I come. Take." Tossing over a pair of small boat necklaces, the Shadokai slipped into the ground and reappeared on his ship, "Connect."

Shou Xin and Feng Wuqing watching as the two pieces of one boat came together, sucking some of their Qi out, a blinding light shining and a boat, nay, a Warship, appeared.

It's sails were clear white, and it's hull was made of the finest woods, carved with Yong's on the bottom as though they were swimming beside the Warship itself.

"Muzondang. Gift. Win. Keep." The Shadokai took off in his ship, "Follow."

Already on the deck of the ship, Feng Wuqing looked around, her violet eyes scanning everything, she could feel a connection to the ship.

Shou Xin who stood found a place and stood quietly, felt the same connection.

Shooting a glance at one another, they poured their strength into the Warship which was easily three hundred meters across, causing it to begin moving with a smoothness that such a large ship shouldn't have.

"Take me!" Feeling his heart beating like crazy as the prospect of adventure to the Maw, the capital of dragons, Xiao Wun shouted!

"Hmph." Remembering what he had said previously, Feng Wuqing looked down at him and began picking at her nails.

"Wuqing…" Flicking his wrist, Shou Xin grabbed onto Xiao Wun with Fukkatsu, and brought him on board.

She looked over at him.

He looked back at her sincerely.

"Fine." She flew up to the front of the ship, her eyes scanning the entire area below.

The city had grown finely, large walls now in place with a large moat as well such that if someone beneath the Seventh Chain wanted to attack, they wouldn't be able to without being spotted.

Not to mention the Great Sanguine Sword Formation which was constantly growing stronger as the clansmen put more and more Blood Stones into it, at this point, it could fight off Ninth Stage Mortal Coil Experts.

A terrifying formation which covered the whole clan and city.

It was then a thought popped into her head.

"...What is the name of this city we've built?"

Yui Luo's ears twitched, even from below she could hear it because of her increased strength.

"Souzouai." Shou Xin said offhandedly.

Creation and love.

"You are a burning romantic, aren't you?" Feng Wuqing looked back at him dumbfounded, "Say something else pretty."

"Wuqing."

"Ahhh…!"

Xiao Wun quietly watched the two of them going back and forth, teasing each other and took some notes in the back of his head.

Yui Luo who was down below, heard it, and nodded.

"Souzouai it is. The town of creation, love and rebirth. Hidden within a crack in the Demon Realm it is the head quarters of the Shou Clan. Sounds good." At this point, she had stopped questioning the smaller, more seemingly random actions of her liege.

"...Should we try and encourage relationships more?" Liu Gang rested his hand on her hip, and she glared at him.

"Bastard." Immediately, the two started fighting, though neither was serious.

"Mother, the competition is starting soon. They aren't here." Stalking around the gate of the city, a young dragon girl looked anxious, "What if they don't come?"

"They will come." Her mother, an exceptionally well aged beauty replied.

"Preliminaries are today!" Her anger started to go up, but then her eyes widened.

A ship was on the horizon, a Shadokai Ship being accompanied by a Warship.

"...So that's the continent in the sky, Dragon's Row, and it's capital, the Maw?" Excitedly, a young boy shouted as he watched the place beyond the sea of clouds, a massive city at least larger than the entire Baikan!

"Fengzhou is small in comparison." Violet eyes scanned the massive city and snorted, "It's not so impressive though."

"Please," Reborn, his two eyes able to see just fine, he shot a look at her, "Remember why we are here."

"Don't act like you aren't looking forward to challenging all the swordsmen you can get your hands on." Her violet eyes turned on him, her breathtaking beauty sliding right over him as he shook his head.

"That is not trouble. I'm not attacking them for no reason."

"So, what are you going to do if you win?"

"Challenge the next one."

"And what happens if you defeat too many?"

"They'll submit."

"No they won't."

The two bickered like dragon fire and true ice, neither backing down.

The violet eyed beauty was like a violent storm as she spoke with such energy it would break a lesser man.

The scarred young man was like a serene lake covered in life, refusing to melt even if the sun came down, such an attitude would make a weaker woman yield.

Their dispositions were complete opposites in this regard.

However, both were terribly stubborn.

"Fine then, I'll go and challenge the martial cultivators, you take out the Sword Cultivators, whoever gets the greater number is right." Finally, as they arrived at the dock she giggled as she spoke with her mouth covered by her hand, her eyes fluttering.

"I don't want to compete." Stepping off the warship which turned back into a necklace, he replied whilst looking forward.

"Scared?" She smiled cutely, her eyes searching for his own.

"Hmph, if you think that will provoke me," His aura slowly began to emerge, "You're on."

"You two! You are late! It only takes three days by Warship to arrive here, yet it's been six days and the preliminaries are right now!" Maqi, the young dragon, swiftly charged forward angrily, "Hurry up and go! You should have seen the arena from afar!"

Fukkatsu left the sword, acting as a ride for the two.

"Flying isn't allowed in the city!" Maqi screamed, but they were gone.

The streets were in a panic as they rushed through, Xiao Wun left behind at the dock with Maqi, who was incensed.

She glared at him and bit her lip, flying away quickly to catch them.

"Ah-, I-, ah…" Xiao Wun sighed, he knew this would happen, but he didn't mind it too much.

Instead, he decided to go exploring the city.

Yet, just as he was about to enter, he felt a hand on his shoulder, turning around a mature looking woman was standing there, looking off towards were screams were ringing out from the Yong who was rushing through the streets wantonly and the dragon girl following at breakneck speed.

"It's also the same with anyone who gets close to them. The Shou have always been ridiculous people who don't care about rules or laws, only about freedom, which makes them seem like villains. Be strong, youngster."

"Does that mean I can leave?"

"Nope."

"For the first fight of the day! Between the Bull Demons of the Western Plains, a race which has just recently achieved the ability to reach the Sky through their Great Elder at the Unchained Realm, and the Shou Clan of Baylen's Rest, which has recently arrived here in the Demon Realm after being chased out of the Exiled Court, called villains and monsters, are to face-off!"

The rules of the Young Dragon Competition is to crown the strongest of the generation beneath thirty years old. A reasonable age for those cultivators whose life spans are in the hundreds of years after achieving Law Realm.

The contest only came around once every thirty years as well, so no one could fight twice.

It was the first competition of strength one could enter, and the last competition of the youths of the noble races of the Demon Realm.

"How old are you, again?" Hearing this through the chatter throughout the city using her sensitive hearing, Feng Wuqing asked.

"Twenty. You?"

"Hohoho, what an old man! Nineteen." She clapped his back, the immense strength making him vibrate slightly.

"You bastards, stop! In the name of Dragon's Row!"

Immense waves of power arose in front of them, a unit of guards at the Law Realm stood in their way, each of them with at least three laws.

Yet, when they didn't stop and they were about to attack, they saw from behind, Maqi, who was furious!

Immediately, they moved out of the way, letting them through.

Fukkatsu flew high and landed onto the wall of the massive arena which could house thousands, the more apt name, the Colosseum.

Roar!!!

Belting out a fierce roar, Fukkatsu was instantly beset upon by countless extremely powerful gazes and pressures, trying to force it to lower it's head.

However, it refused.

Jumping down off the wall it landed onto the arena before flying back into it's true form.

"....With that explosive entrance, the Shou Clan of Baylen's Rest appears ready for the fi-"

"Anyone who uses fists will fight me. Anyone with swords, fight him." Feng Wuqing said plainly, the dust settling to reveal her kingdom toppling beauty.

Yet, as they were all charmed, she felt disgusted.

In the past, before her rebirth, no one looked at her, yet now they were so interested?

As if.

"...If you want me, defeat him." She teased the audience with a devilish smile, casting their attention from her, to another person.

His very existence feeling like a naked blade, the moment they turned their eyes to him, he seemed like a divine sword, ready to strike down anyone at any time, his eyes filled with Sword Intent!

Yet, what truly gathered the attention of these people who lived in the Maw, where Law Realm was average, was his facial features!

She might topple kingdoms, but he too would drive nations mad at the sight of a single smile!

Her disposition was of a fierce wargod, and his of a world weary swordsman.

Between the two, many hearts were captured despite their attitudes.

However, there were some who were not so impressed.

"The audacity to disgrace us like this! Do you believe you can defeat everyone here? Are you thinking that your gods?!"

The Bull Demon Clan of the Western Plains, Du Mushen. Heir apparent of the Bull Demon Clan's main branch, an expert at the Law Realm, second law and one who cultivates fists.

"...A human Sword Cultivator, and a battle cultivator no less. It will be a good match, do not disappoint me."

The Winged Wolf Clan of the Western Plains, Wo Jie. Heir apparent of the Winged Wolf Clan and at the peak of the second law of the Law Realm, his main study that of swords.

Among these two clans were many more fist fighters and sword fighters at the Law Realm who were prepared to put it all on the line to prove the strength of their clans.

With those words, the stadium was left without words, watching the storm of killing intent gathering together.

Yet, no one was affected within the stadium.

They all lived within the miasma below for a long time, and were more than accustomed to it, but felt at home within it, killing intent was no different and no one was impeded, however the viewers felt pressured as though a war could break out at any moment.

Nine Sanguine Sword Style, Sword Field.

Wiiiiiiiiing!

With his soul expanded, yet still terribly dense as it once was… he no longer needed to hide away his field now that his soul had expanded.

The entire floor of the arena rose with the sword of lighting and fire, faces could occasionally be seen within the undulating energies as though souls trying to escape their torment, a dark atmosphere covered the arena at the drop of a hat.

"Sanguine Sword Domain."

A Law Cultivator.

Only a person who had achieved the strength of a Law Expert, and had broken into the Intent Class, could possibly hope to from a domain.

As it stood, his domain made the earth look like rotted ground, a cemetery spreading out in all directions and a single massive sword was stuck in the central mound.

A burial yard.

Those swords of fire and lightning rose from the graves, those screaming faces like ghosts, scaring the people with how vicious, and precise his killing intent was. Like a beast at your throat, restrained by a thin string.

"Shen King Domain."

Wo Jie, the heir of the Winged Wolf Clan's face contorted as a nasty smile spread across his wolf face, revealing countless sharp, shining teeth.

All around him a massive grassland appeared! The grass itself seemed to shake and shiver as though wolves hid between the tall grass, seeking to attack at any moment.

At the same time, the winds seemed to turn into blades, hidden among the sky and clouds, a deathtrap in the form of a comforting paradise.

Cunning as a wolf.

Their two tremendous powers collided!

The air shook beneath their immense aura's who clashed without reserve, though neither made a move, simply from the battle of their domains, the crowd tensed!

"Isn't that so boring?" Devilish energy seeking to devour the world, a voice which could make any man fall, and any woman change her colors.

Those who had been felled by Shou Xin's blade began to appear from the graves as though Undying Soldiers, taking the swords into their hands, they charged!

The wolves hidden beneath the tall grass rose up on their hind legs, revealing wolf soldiers, those that Wo Jie would one day protect was reflected in his domain, which was a reflection of himself.

"He is a good child, filled with a sense of duty." Some commented from the spectators seats, watching over them, others looked at the dead who looked like hungry ghosts charging forward.

"Evil. Even in death, he won't let them go, forcing them to do this. That boy of this Shou Clan is terribly cruel."

"He is just another tyrant."

"He has no disposition as a leader, that must be why he was forced out from the Exiled Court by those bastards."

"His temperament is clearly far too merciless!"

"Monster!"

The one being spoken about, didn't feel a thing at their words. He did not mind himself with what they had to say, being hated here or anywhere else, it did not matter to him.

Good or Evil, he would be him, till the very last, bitter end.

Wo Jie's wolf soldiers collided with the undying swordsmen, and were instantly pushed back!

A king upon his throne needs not dirty his own hands, "Thousand Claw Strike."

A single sword stroke, from within blooms a thousand cuts, "Fukkatsu Koka Kiru."

B-boom!

Shiiiiing!

Whoosh!

The collision of the two tremendous energies was decisive and left no room for a second attack, it was all or nothing.

Shou Xin stood within the grasslands touching the fluttering tall grass of Wo Jie's Shen King Domain as it collapsed and was overrun by his undying swordsmen.

Feng Wuqing's eyes curved into crescents as she giggled, "You are so cruel, going easy on him after he threw everything at you."
