The young lady had teary eyes as she nodded.
He flicked her again.
"Do you understand?!"
"Pfft-!" The giant woman almost broke into laughter seeing the helpless state of her young lady who was normally so unrestrained.
"I understand, Mister, but!" The young lady pulled on him and his body lost it's balance slightly almost sending him crashing to earth, "You are coming with me! Fang Wuting!"
"Yes, lady." The giant woman responded by swiftly appearing beside Shou Xin.
Despite wishing to react, he couldn't or it would blow his cover and so he made a choice.
"Damn it!" Shou Xin thought wrathfully, "Fate be damned!"
----
"...you cannot even contain a single, blind and crippled person?" Feng Gutai said calmly, "You are dismissed."
"Yes, Chief."
The large room filled with books cleared.
Sitting at the only desk there, piled on by countless sheets of paper, Feng Gutai leaned back.
"Crippled in one arm, blind and weakened severely, yet they can't contain him. What a nuisance these idiots from the other families are," Feng Gutai clicked his tongue, "Tch. This is what happens when you let brats buy their way into important positions."
"In order to keep the organization going, we need the support of the families." A shadow stepped out from the wall, the report that the others had brought in was burned and in it's place a new one was placed, "It appears this is a little more complicated now. The young miss has earned an interest in the captive."
"Huh?" Dumbfounded, Feng Gutai's eyes widened until a smile spread across his face, "Write off his escape. A mere second chain expert is nothing in this place anyway. Especially not such a terribly crippled one. He's basically useless anyway."
"Yes, Master."
The shadow diffused into the air.
------------
"Young lady, please stop!" A maid asked as she dared not stop the young miss herself.
Feng Wuqing raised her head and looked at the maid, a breath slowly leaving her body as a fog, her eyes a bleeding crimson.
The maid ducked the axe which had moved at breakneck speed before running out screaming.
"The Young Miss is having another tantrum!"
Several guards rushed over, dodging the attacks Feng Wuqing threw at them, they dared not counter.
As soon as they arrived at her sides she began battling with them severely as though to put her life on the line, pushing the guards to their limit right before needing to use real force.
"Stop now, Wuqing!" Another voice came, and with it came a terrible pressure that locked down all of Wuqing's movements.
"Feng Gutai." Feng Wuqing looked at him still in his work uniform, "Let me go now, or else I will slaughter this fiance of mine in his sleep and hang his head at their ancestral shrine!"
Her vicious threats made the guards recoil in horror!
To hang the head of a person, especially an heir, at the gate to ones ancestral shrine was to insult their ancestors and all of their people, it would be a blood pact saying that the two bloodlines could not live under the same sky!
It would be war on sight!
"You could at least call me father, you know?" Feng Gutai slowly sat down on a chest, "My joints have been aching for so long."
"Feng Gutai, do you think I won't do it?"
"Not anymore." Feng Gutai smiled as though a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders, he raised an object.
Feng Wuqing's senses recoiled and her rage rose such that the pressure almost couldn't restrain her anymore.
"What did you do to him?!"
"Hm?" Feng Gutai leaned his head on his fist, "I didn't do anything. He came to us. After going through the entirety of Sea Spring Town's underground and cleansing them for the most part. He then destroyed most of the merchants and made a pact with Guo Long, the Sea Spring Merchant Leader establishing a makeshift power there."
Feng Gutai then took out a report from his inner robes.
"Let's see, after that, he went to the arena in a sub-city of Feng Zhuo, Azu, and in a single month managed to as a Single Chain, defeat all the other without ever drawing his blade but a single time, and then defeated a peak second chain without drawing his blade, or perhaps he did?" Feng Gutai squinted at the report, "It says it's undetermined. Sources vary. Though it ends the same, for some reason he went berserk a day after defeating the second chain, losing his sight and arm in the process however managing to break through, quite the motivated youngster to do such a forceful breakthrough only a month after breaking into Mortal Chain Realm, why is that?"
Feng Wuqing remained silent.
"...you know I don't want to do this either." Feng Gutai said evenly, "But, the alliance with the Yan is too important to pass up. Please understand, with their help we will have a gateway into the Yan's lands. You can have this Shou Xin all you want after you're married, I can see to it."
The area was completely locked down, no one but Feng Wuqing could hear the last things he had told her.
"Even so," Feng Wuqing raised her head high, "I lost my eyes for the family and was exiled. I won't lose the one thing I want, too."
Just as Feng Wuqing was about to respond, her gaze carried past Feng Gutai, landing upon a young girl, a giant woman and the youth slung over her shoulder as well as the blood dried on his pale face.
Her killing intent erupted, momentarily shocking Feng Gutai and allowing her an instant to kick the earth and escape his restriction.
He raised his arms erecting a barrier but she did not attack him, rather she flew straight past him, rushing at the giant woman like a flood dragon!
The giant woman, Feng Wuting immediately dropped the youth and, alongside the other escorts, surrounded the young miss.
Sliding over the stone ground, Feng Wuqing managed to catch the youth before he could hit the ground.
"Xin!" Feng Wuqing shouted.
The youth didn't react, and Feng Wuqing turned to her sister, Feng Luoyu, whose bodyguard watched closely her every move.
"What have you done?" She stood over him, veins crawling up her arms.
"Mister was very kind, so I brought him back, does sister want him?" Feng Luoyu, the young miss smiled innocently.
"She doesn't." Feng Gutai had appeared beside her at this point, patting Feng Luoyu, or trying to and failing miserably, "She wants to get married, isn't that right?"
Feng Wuqing's face darkened.
The threat was clear.
"That's… right." She squeezed out.
A cold breeze passed through the courtyard of the Feng Residence.
No one spoke a word more.
----
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Standing within a secluded courtyard, a tall figure with dazzling golden hair watched closely the black cat slowly approaching, "I've been here too long, you know?"
"What, is the lord of one of the death zones afraid?" The black cat slowly turned into an eldritch beast as it seemed to walk out of the shadow of the cat and devour it into itself.
The figure shook his head, "We are no longer rivals."
In the moment the two locked eyes, their Sword Wills which had advanced to a high level clashed!
Instantly the entire courtyard was blow apart, the tiles along the ground being cut thousands of times!
"Vienna, do you understand now?" The tall figure said coldly, "This world, being a deity, it's not as simple as it looks."
Vienna stood apart from his eternal rival, the Dark Yuan Mountain's Master, and now Sword Deity of the Tai School of Blades, Nufu.
Vienna slightly touched his cheek, were a line of blood had been traced, he didn't need to glance around his body to know he had been cut in several others places which would have been crippling or fatal if it went a bit deeper!
He took back his Sword Will, not fool enough to continue.
"How?" Vienna asked coldly, his gaze sharp, "It's been a century, you couldn't have gained such strength by normal means without the chaos."
"I guess you wouldn't notice, would you? Vienna, the power of offerings is great for beings like us. Prayers and worship from our followers are important, have you not noticed the slight increase in power from your first disciple?"
"No." Vienna's answer was bare and flat, "He's a talentless piece of trash with the curse physique."
Nufu's eyes widened and he slowly spoke with a grin, "Do you know what happens to a god with no disciples left?"
Vienna simply gazed at him, a bad premonition coming over him.
"They go insane and are thrown back into the chaotic gate. However, the greater one's following is, the stronger those followers are, the greater one's power becomes in specific, the Supreme Law of Shandao. You must have felt it, all of your various laws coming closer together, becoming more synergized."
Vienna frowned.
"I know you are not one to lead, neither am I. Give it over to your disciple to handle." Nufu smiled, "My first disciple is now at the peak of Unchained, about to become a Dao Establishment Expert, you know?"
"Heh."
A grin creeped onto Vienna's previously deadpan face.
"Is this how he felt...?"
Vienna turned his back on Nufu.
"Hey, Nufu."
"What?"
