Chapter 28 - The awaited fight

"Lilith?" Gary muttered in suprise, he knew she was a capable fighter but.....a one hit kill was beyond his wildest dreams.

'I thought she went to train for a week, not take a super soldier serum!'.

"Who is she?" An Ampler from Mensu village asked.

"She was one of the travellers they spoke of. The person they suggested to face Norm but you the other villages rejected, wanting to handle things themselves," A Haku villager answered.

They could not help but feel a sense of shame, she could probably take down a whole horde of yetis. The village leaders were cocky, thinking that they could win with numbers alone.

A light shone through their previously despaired hearts as they saw Lilith take down Diablo effortlessly. They knew it was a disgrace to now rely on her, but they had no other choice. A thought suddenly rose among them, if one of them was this strong, then with the other one they could probably win!

"Gary," Lilith called in which the lover was quick to answer.

"Yes," Gary said, trying to hide his excitement. Fighting alongside the girl he liked was like a dream come true.

'Not even Norm can stop us!' He thought while a smile crept up his face.

Roar! Diablo's death did not sit well with the other yetis and as a result charged towards Lilith.

"Can you keep fighting?"

"Yeah!" He responded eager to fight together.

"Nice, I may need you to handle the weaker ones!"

'Does she plan to fight the stronger ones by herself? Nevermind, as long as we are together,' Gary thought with a wide smile.

"Ok. Consider it done!" He exclaimed while tightening the grip on his sword.

"I will be taking most with me as I go. There are no Yemens in this batch, so you should be okay," Lilith said. "When you are done regroup with group B, since I will be handling most."

The other villagers did not complain, seeing Lilith's strength they would much prefer her handling everything. It was only during this battle that the villagers realized their shame rose to new heights.

"What about Norm? Will I not be helping you fight her?" Gary asked.

"No need, if Kevin is not here I'll fight her myself," Lilith arrogantly said.

Hearing Kevin's name, Gary felt as though a needle pierced through his heart over and over again. However, he planned on being persistent, Kevin was not here but he was.

"Lil-" Before he could pester her, winds gathered around Lilith's legs as she ran past the yetis at an incredible speed, heading straight to the top.

Just as she said, most of the yetis ran after her, leaving a minority for Gary's group. Out of rage, they blindly gave chase hoping to avenge their brethren. Although it was to be expected, normal yetis are rank one magical beast possessing minor intelligence and magic while Yemens are rank two beasts possessing a moderate amount of intelligence and magic.

Their loud consistent roars echoed across the mountain, firmly expressing their rage.

"Aah...you are too loud." Lilith snapped as she materialized an air bow and launched an arrow in between a yeti's eyes It's body fell lifelessly as the others yetis trampled over it.

"Two, three, four, five..... six." Lilith counted as she killed the beasts one by one with her compressed air arrows.

Eventually her shoot while running tactic failed to yield results as the beasts would now evade. The arrow was fast, so it atleast injured the ones which attempted to dodge but it was a waste of Mana. Unless she wanted to fight Norm another day, she needed to save as much Mana as she could.

"Close range then," Lilith sighed as she backflipped down the mountain to where the yetis were. Due to her speed, there was quite the distance between her and the enemies.

"Chaaa!" Lilith cried out as she encased her fist in wind before punching the ground.

The impact of the punch caused the snow to rise, obscuring the yetis' vision.

Swoosh! Swoosh !Swoosh! Like a madman, Lilith shot compressed air arrows non-stop, as the yetis' numbers began to drastically drop.

Not wanting to play Lilith's game, a yeti clapped it's palms together generating a force capable of clearing the snow that had blocked their sight. It's eyes roamed in search of Lilith.

"Peek-a-boo!" Lilith yelled as she materialized wind daggers, digging them into the yetis' eye sockets.

'Learned that from Kevin!'

The beast screeched in pain as it began moving it's arms randomly in an attempt to catch Lilith. However, she paid it no attention as she jumped onto the next one but this time shooting it's skull.

"Another one bites the dust," Lilith said followed by a sigh.

Trying to retaliate, another yeti raised its arms planning to smash Lilith into the ground. Reacting fast, Lilith threw out a wind slash which sightly cut its neck. After seeing the effects of a single wind slash, she opted to provide a bit more which eventually cut through its neck before the attack landed.

"There are still many," Lilith said while glancing at about ten more or them.

Accessing the situation, she moved back as she shot three arrows at the same time reducing their number to seven. Like a marksman, she aimed for either the vitals or the head, achieving instant kills.

Roar!

"Huh, behind me!" In the nick of time, Lilith summersaulted out of the way as a giant fist approached her. Materializing an axe composed of wind, she struck the beast's head splattering its content on the floor.

Unexpectedly, she was grabbed by the leg and slammed onto the snowy ground causing her to cough out blood.

'If there was no snow....that would have definitely hurt alot more,' Lilith inwardly thanked as she once again lifted into the air. But before she was slammed into the ground once more, she materialized a bow shooting the beast's skull.

She fell to the ground creating a thud sound upon impact. Despite taking some damage, the yetis gave her no rest as one leapt through the air aiming to stomp her.

"Give me a break!" Lilith mumbled as she rolled out of the way, nearly avoiding death.

Materializing two wind spears in each hand, she stabbed one into the yeti's foot locking it into place and the other was jammed into its neck leaving a downpour of blood.

Quickly regaining her posture, she shot off three compressed arrows which hit their targets perfectly. Lilith had killed all except for one which was now cowering in fear after seeing its comrades die.

"Sorry, but I yearn for true equality," apologizing, she shot off another arrow killing the last enemy.

Lilith examined her body before nodding in satisfaction,"I still have enough mana to fight!".

After a few minutes of running at full speed, she finally reached Norm's domain which was a castle built entirely of ice. Although stunning, it was as fragile as ice as well.

Boom! Before she could enter, a loud noise pierced through her ears from Klein's house location. Judging by the sound, it was obvious it was not a natural occurrence.

"Was that the new move Kevin bragged about? Look like he will be here soon, better finish this up first," Lilith muttered to herself.

"Here we go, the awaited fight!"
