Chapter 11 - Victoria's Death

"There is a way…" Eudora exclaimed suddenly.

"How, your highness?" Celia asked.

"Now is not the time to meet her. We will meet after Lenora's coronation," Eudora said with a serious face. Her irises turned red from black. Celia knew her master was going to execute something fatal.

Lenora felt a weird feeling swirling in her body, something she had never felt before. Her lady-in-waiting flinched for a brief second when Lenora looked at her. But she looked at her daringly as if she wasn't scared to her roots.

"Why am I acting like this?" Lenora murmured, collapsing to the ground.

"My Lady, Please get up and sleep on the bed," Celine said.

"Hmm…" Lenora nodded and went to bed. Her head was filled with complicated thoughts. Not only Eudora but also Lenora noticed the changes in her body. Just like Victoria… her thirst for blood grew. She wondered what exactly happened to her on that day. The only key now was Victoria. But she was dead already. What could she do?

If something happened to her and Victoria, it meant that someone was involved in this. That person would clear her name. But who was that person? The one who essentially ruined her life. She needed to find them. But how?

She prayed to God to give her single clue to find the truth. A single clue that could change her life in a moment.

Two days passed…

During these two days, Eudora kept her words. People who were disrespected were injected with Boswellia directly into their hearts, their hearts were contaminated before they lost their lives. This created terror in the hearts of others.

Even Lenora was surprised at this stunt pulled by her mother. She never expected that her mother would go to this extent just to give her what she asked.

If her mother pulled this cruel stunt, then it only means she was planning to do something even bigger. Lenora knew that today was going to be a big day. After all, it was her coronation day.

She would be recrowned as the princess of the Vampire kingdom. In front of the people who pointed their fingers at her calling her a murderer, a bad omen, undeserved, and many more. Could she face these people?

Sitting in front of her mirror, she looked at herself for the ninth time. Everyone thought that she was greedy and ready to gobble up the position. But only she knew the responsibilities and the pressure that came with the position. After all, she was once a princess. And now she would be a princess again. She fisted her hands, digging her nails into her palms. Her nails cut crescents into her hands. But because of vampire abilities, the wounds healed in seconds.

The beautiful face she was seeing in the mirror was not her. The real her had mysteries that needed to be solved. The real her had scars. There was one certain scar that made her stay away from the world. Could she face the world that abandoned her? Could she face the world who believed her as a murderer? Would they accept her?

Even though she acted as if she didn't care, she cared. And she cared a great deal. After all, she was too once a human. Unlike other vampires, she couldn't just turn off her humanity switch. She cared about others. But if she showed it, she would be treated as a tool.

She wanted to know why the king chose her specifically and turned her into a vampire when he could turn anyone else into one. Lenora loathed her existence as a vampire. She wanted to turn back into her previous self. Lenora wondered what her biological parents were doing without her. Were they missing her? Would they see her as a demon?

"My Lady," Celine's words resounded beside her, bringing her back to the earth from her complicated thoughts.

"What happened, My lady?" Celine asked.

"I wish I wasn't a vampire. A blood-sucking demon. I want to go back to my human form," Lenora said, feeling disgusted with her vulnerability.

Celine was surprised at her actions. A smile formed on her lips but she quickly hid it.

"But…" Lenora sighed.

"But?" she asked.

"Would my biological parents even accept me back? Why can't I remember the life I lived only a few years ago? Why was I cursed like this?" she asked. She wanted to cry but she was afraid the make-up would be ruined if she did.

Celine was surprised at her sudden mood fluctuations of Lenora. Indeed her parents would accept her. After all, she was here on their orders to take care of Lenora.

"My Lady, everyone is special in their way. If you don't remember either you were compelled to forget it or it happens to a few rare vampires that they tend to forget their memories during the transition from human to vampire. This happens when their body couldn't hold back," Celine said.
