Akira went to Sazoru's office, and so he started speaking.
He had reports that the feudal king was threatened by an unknown messenger who shot an arrow with a message. He needed some guardians, so he asked Volts and Akira to protect them.
Akira inquired about what a feudal king was. He thought there was only one king. Volts answered that there was a feudal system between each kingdom. These kingdoms were from outside Celesta and around the world. None of them could interrupt or seize the feudal system, whether the king did a very bad deed like enslaving peasants or torturing them.
Akira called that a scumbag system. Sazoru agreed, but this was the world's order. If not, war could break out. Even the king himself didn't want to interrupt the feudal systems.
Sazoru changed the subject to what they must do. Sazoru explained that Akira and Volts would be protecting Princess Shirahoshi Masumi and King Ganro Tomi. This task was uncertain due to the unknown messenger, who could be a bandit or Mikadzuki. Since Mikadzuki was obsessed with freedom, they could possibly kill the king, if not the princess. They wouldn't kill peasants, maybe recruit them to attain tranquility and freedom.
Around 2 hours, the king and the princess would set a wagon and hit the road to their palace, so now Volts and Akira were commissioned to protect them.
Akira and Volts nodded and so they were dismissed.
Sazoru gave Volts the location to his phone and lead the way. Akira didn't have a phone but was curious about what it could do. Volts said that these were what they called the "internet" a social system from afar or digital socialization. Akira didn't fully understand, and Volts then explain it in a simpler way. He said for instance; that if there was a friend from afar he could communicate with them by using the phone and an app called "Xechat" or post something on "Asmourapp".
Finally, Akira understood what he meant, but still, he didn't have a phone.
Volts told Akira to go south outside Celesta and that they would use transportation to go there.
Akira nodded and so they went to the station. A floating train station was crowded with people in formal wear and informal. Akira entered illegally without knowing he needed a ticket to enter, Volts helped him out by purchasing his ticket, and now Akira was allowed to enter.
Akira was flabbergasted and his eyes went shiny, the train was beautiful and unique, Akira entered the train and so was Volts.
Volts held on to something on the train, but Akira didn't and he got thrown by the force of the train, he apologized because he had never been on a train before and he also felt something unpleasant in his stomach.
22 minutes after, they finally made it to the south. Akira asked where was the king, and Volts pointed out that they need to take a car. Akira suggested why not they run, Volts preferred to save stamina and Akira called him lazy. Volts didn't care and Akira finally followed him.
A taxi was labeled "Celex" Which was their company name. Akira and Volts entered the back seat, however, Akira felt sick.
He described that the Air conditioner smell was strong and the motion of the car was very sickening. Akira felt weak and sat there with a green face. Volts who was sitting next to him, squinted his eyes in disgust while also keeping his distance away.
Finally, they made it. Volts paid for the taxi and now they left. Akira and Volts waited for the king's wagon and waited for an hour.
Before the mission started, they chatted.
"Hmm, Volts," Akira called Volts.
"Hmm?"
"I always said this but, it is a pleasure to be working with you..." Akira smiled and sudden words came out of him.
"..." Volts remembered that he had always talked to him like that and he ignored him...
"Pleasure is mine," Volts responded in the end. It made Akira laugh and smile as he realized Volts could now work together as a team.
They waited until they saw a wagon that appeared to be the king's wagon, and then they set out on foot to meet the king.
The guards brandished their spears at the two and demanded identification. Volts displayed his warrior's license before lowering their spears.
From the window, Akira turned right and Volts turned left. Akira noticed a king with blonde hair and a beard, who was also overweight and dressed in a green robe. The princess, on the other hand, had pink hair, was lovely, and her beauty was unparalleled. When the king realized Akira was gazing, he drew the curtains closed over the window.
He overheard the king and princess chatting about him and gossiping about him.
"Hmph, what does he thinks he is staring at, how rude!" The king used his hand fan while talking to Shirahoshi.
Shirahoshi just giggled and said that he was just sensitive. Right after she had her gaze at Akira, Shirahoshi just felt something unpleasant after he saw Akira. The king then asked what was wrong and blamed Akira.
Akira heard the whole thing raise his eyebrows and said "What the heck did I do?"
The King opened his window and started insulting him.
"You! How dare you make my little princess sick, you'll pay for this-" The King was stopped by the princess and told him it was not Akira's fault.
Akira just stood there staring with confusion, Shirahoshi apologized and closed the window.
Akira sighed and thought maybe nobles were mean to a peasant, not to mention racism.
As they walked, Akira suddenly heard bushes rustling from above. Before they went there he knew that they would attack them there because of the tight and narrow path. 3 alternative ways were blocked, and so, they took this path.
Suddenly an earthquake occurred and they made a landslide. They blocked every path from the front and behind. Akira summoned his scythe and Volts charged his electricity.
The bandits went down and engaged. They fired their crossbows at Akira. Akira just moved his head to the right and left, dodging the arrow. Akira commanded the guards to let them take care of it and protect the king. The bandits used their knives and charged Akira. Akira just used the safest part of his scythe blade to knock them out. Volts electrocuted five bandits with his nail spikes and immobilized them.
Finally, the threat was cleared, and so the king and the princess were safe. Akira cleared the path by swinging his scythe up and down like he was mining.
Several minutes later, the path was completely cleared, and now they proceeded to the palace.
The King blamed Akira for no reason and caused dirt on his wagon. Akira's mouth was opened for his reason and he was shocked. Shirahoshi calmed her father down and apologized to Akira.
Akira squinted his eyes in disbelief at the king. He couldn't believe that wealthy people like him would feel troubled just by the touch of dirt that stained the wagon. Akira sighed and continued walking.
Akira chatted with Volts about why he didn't get himself yelled at by him. He just said that he just looked straightforward. The king looked at him as well, but he just stared at him.
Seven minutes later, they had finally made it to the palace. The kingdom was kind of old-school; it felt like they left off 500 years of technology, according to Akira.
The Kingdom was wide and big, with many merchants and people working like in a simple life, as they were about to reach the kingdom's bridge. Around Akira, he saw many of them were looking at the wagon and him.
After finally reaching the palace, Akira and Volts were ordered by the guard to stay in the palace. It was Shirahoshi's order for him to stay along with Volts. Akira said how kind the guard was as he led them to their rooms.
In a royal room that was presented for VIPs, Akira felt that wasn't necessary and preferred a regular room. The guard told him that it was okay and so they stayed.
The weirdest part of all was why there was only 1 bed that could fit 2 people. The guard said that it was for 1 person only, but 2 people were in here, and with that, they needed to share beds.
Akira didn't mind but Volts had a weird thought about what he saw earlier in the base that morning, the guards ordered them to rest in the evening so they could replenish their energy and could protect the king. The guard left them in the room, and they rested.
