Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

"P..please don't come close!" begged a 17-year-old girl with golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes like a vast ocean. Her face was already sweatily coupled with irregular breathing. The girl's hand was trembling and her voice seemed to be unable to come out when faced with a figure that was like a nightmare for her.

"I told you not to run away from me. But you kept running... you know how much my heart hurts ?!" The voice of the black-haired man was loudly heard in the large lake area of the Arandelle Royal Palace. His right hand gripped the tip of the sword with rage until the veins in his wrists and neck were visible. His red eyes stared at the girl with a look as sharp as an eagle ready to hunt prey.

The distance between the girl and the boy is only about 2 meters and every time one site backward is made, another site will move forward.

"I...I...,"

"I won't let you run again!" The man's left hand tried to reach the girl's arm but what could be pulled was the long golden hair.

"Ahhhh!" Cinderella's screams of pain startled the man. The loud and hoarse voice had turned into soft and full of sincere sympathy from the heart.

"So..sorry! Are you okay Cinderella?" Despite being in a rage, the guy would never occasionally hurt the girl in front of him. But it was completely disliked by the girl because she considered the man who was also the king of this kingdom to be a psychopath!

"I am more willing to die than to live with Your Majesty,"

The girl's sentence was like a knife that pierced the man's heart. Within seconds of processing the verse, the sword in his right hand suddenly fell and the sound of madman laughter echoed. A black aura began to surround the man's body and made Cinderella even more frightened.

"You are looking for death, Cinderella? You're mine!" Cinderella's hair was pulled harder but the girl managed to use the fallen sword to cut her hair up to shoulder level.

"We'd better not meet again, *****,"

PLASH!

Cinderella's body fell into the lake. For the girl, she did not care how she would die as long as being able to stay away from the king was enough for her. Slowly the girl's body sank to the bottom of the lake except for the bright red scarf on the night illuminated by the full moon. The figure who was also shocked by the crazy action tried to save Cinderella but his legs seemed to be held by something.

It's magic.

"CINDERELLA!"

TING!

TING!

TING!

The sound of the alarm clock startled Liona who was in her dream just now. The 17-year-old stared at the ceiling of her bedroom, stunned.

"What ... was that?" Liona's question to herself. Saliva was wiped away as well as sweat on her forehead and neck. The painful sound of the alarm clock closed immediately.

'Am I set for midnight? That's weird '

"Dreams ... that dream is weird too," she said. The breath is inhaled as deeply as possible and a strong exhalation is released. Liona slapped her cheek to keep herself from getting sleepy.

This must be the effect of reading this novel,"

A simple thick book was taken from the table. The cover of the book looked a little bad and there were some scratches that Liona misunderstood. She sat in her study desk chair while rummaging through the book.

-CINDERELLA-

'What kind of book is this? Not the same as the real story, 'Liona whispered in her heart.

The book she holds now maybe a story about a girl named Cinderella and her glass shoes but this one is different from the original story. Liona almost finished reading it but for some reason something was wrong and it made the girl feel worried.

"But why does the ending of this story not seem to bring joy to Cinderella?" Liona asked.

She just stared blankly at the not-so-thick book. No author or where it was published. It was like the book fell from the sky.

'Cinderella ... a happy ending is not an easy thing, is it?'
