Chapter 7 - Herme's center

"Welcome, the esteemed user. Thank you for choosing the 'leafittle' brand. if you have any complaints, please contact us on this number xxx-xxx-xxx or visit our website: leavelittle.com."

The wrist device rang out, a hologram began showing its logo. It was a seed growing into a tree when it was done growing a leaf fell that single leaf started to go brown aging rapidly before it shrank going back into the ground. It ended with a slogan: "Your time is precious let us do the work, so you won't have to worry about it."

The door opened in one swift motion. While that happened Josiah was focused on the watch. He was really confused. In his mind how did that add up to anything with the actual product?

The confusion did not end there because as he walked to the elevator, he unconsciously reached out his hand to press the button, but his hand just touched the wall.

(Josiah): "Huh?"

He was so used to his world that he sometimes does things that would make sense in his world but is the wrong action here.

(Josiah): "I wonder how they are doing."

His minds wander to his past, but he snaps back to reality when the elevator made a sound. Josiah was looking at the elevator as he is now imaging that everything is going to be automated.

Platforms came out making a mini bridge to the elevator. It reminded him of the car that he was in earlier.

"Welcome dear guest what floor?"

A monotone voice rang out, Josiah heard it once before when they went up at first, so he knew what to say.

(Josiah): "First floor."

Josiah was dismissive of the voice as he kept on trying his Leaflittle like it was a toy. Ignoring the event ever happened.

"How was your day sir?"

The A.I continued to speak; this time Josiah did not expect that it could form a conversation. He tried to act cool as he answered its question

(Josiah): "I'm fine this place is new to me."

"Yeah, this place is nice if you get to experience it."

Josiah laughed as he thought of how ironic that was.

(Josiah): "what places would you recommend?"

Sometimes the best way to navigate is by word of mouth. And since Josiah was talking to this electronic thing, he thought he might as well just ask it.

"I would recommend the Hermes center it is friendly for tourists."

Josiah put his hand on his chin and pondered for a bit. He wondered how it would know that but before he could ask that question, the door opened with a ding, Josiah could not stay and wait as he had people waiting on him, so he was forced to say his goodbyes to the a.i.

"Have a great trip."

Josiah felt like it was smiling at him, but he concluded it to be his mere imagination.

The platform came up and started to form a bridge, he walked on it, taking him to a place that was familiar to him.

"Max Grey flower."

Josiah heard a familiar voice he looked at what they were doing, and he saw that they were checking out and Azula was standing waiting. The gang noticed Josiah a while ago, so they were not surprised except for Azula who did not have keen hearing like the rest. Sarrs went up to Josiah, his mini cape fluttering as he walked, he had on a tank top that was grey.

(Sarrs): "Josiah you are finally here took you long enough."

Sarrs smiled and as Josiah saw this he chuckled.

(Josiah): "Yeah sorry unexpected things came up."

Max Said thank you to the receptionist and went over to Josiah after overhearing him. His tentacle wiggled showing that he was excited although Josiah could not tell.

(Max): "Like this leaflittle, it's so cool like you ask it anything and it responds. Check it out."

Max was asking it some random questions like how what a light-speed was and how fast could it go around argus.

"Light could travel around Argus 3.75 times in a single second."

Max was mind blown although he did not have a true understanding of the scale of the planet, he imagined it to be big so going around it in 1 second was a scary thought.

Josiah thought over why max was over there, and although he was sure that he was there to just check out. Things have not been going his way lately, so he was not confident in his assumptions.

(Josiah): "max when you were over there you were trying to check out right?"

Max looked at Josiah in a confused manner he did not know how Josiah knew what a check out was, as it was his first time here but since it was not anything major, he decided not to ask that question.

(Max): "Yeah your right you have to check out so that they know you left."

Max tentacle's wiggle as he talked making a unique type of sound. Josiah at first found Max's voice annoying, but he was starting to get used to it.

He nodded and smiled his legs started moving again to the receptionist. The lady smiled her mini cape moved a little as she spoke her voice was nice to hear it reminded Josiah of a friend, he used to talk to in his former life younger years. It made him nostalgic but a tinge of loneliness. He sighed saying a few words as softly he could.

(Josiah): "How time flies."

The receptionist looked at him when she heard a sound but since she was not paying attention, she could hear him properly.

(Receptionist): "I'm sorry could you repeat what you just said I wasn't paying attention."

Josiah was confused at first because he was not paying attention and her accent makes it hard for him to understand so he had to gather his thoughts for a second, he realized what she was talking about. He smiled and raised his hand in rejection.

(Josiah): "I'm sorry it wasn't directed to you."

She stared at him dead in the face and Josiah stared back while looking at times at the side.

(Josiah): "Um this is awkward can I go now?"

Josiah scratches his head. The Secretary just realized what she had done.

(Secretary): "I'm so sorry sometimes when I don't know what to say I just blank out."

She quickly got back to work to try and make him forget about the event. She was asking for his first and last name.

(Josiah) "Josiah grey-flower"

The Secretary put in the database that he was leaving temporarily.

(Secretary): "All set thank you."

With a smile on her face indicating to Josiah that he was done there, Josiah walked back to the group.

The others noticed and Azula began talking. Everyone shifted their attention towards her.

(Azula): "Lady grey-flower is currently busy, and my job is to help you have a pleasant experience so please follow me."

Her eyes showed her determination, Josiah did not know what prompted the belief in Algid.

Azula walked first then the group followed suit.

The car was there ready to go. It opened by itself with the platforms floating down to make a step.

(Josiah): "I'm going on the front seat."

He raised his right arm, his other arm in his left pocket. His face had a small smile plastered on it.

The others shrugged and went to the other seats. The car softly beeps, and it went on for a couple of seconds. The seat belt went automatically on grappling onto them without any afterthought. Azula looked at Josiah then at the rest in the back.

(Azula): "you guys got an idea, or shall I pick any place?"

Josiah already knew the answer as weird as it sounded to him the elevator told him.

(Josiah): "Hermes center?"

Azula thought for a moment before nodding soon enough. She pressed a button turning on the car.

"Hello, Azula."

The car spoke in a friendly tone. Azula said hi back while at the same time telling it to set a direction to Hermes center.

"Understood. Setting location for Hermes center."

The car lights go off as it started to self-drive. Josiah turned off the shades to be able to see the outside from the window.

20 minutes had passed; the car park as they got out of the car Josiah took that time to look around. People were walking around but not everything was normal, he noticed a big creature that was flying, it looked like it came from the dinosaur's age.

Pharaoh came out of the car although her looks were incredibly peculiar, few people bat an eye at her or said anything.

It was painful. The noises that people make, the cars moving around, The True-beast ears were ringing their ears uncomfortably twitched. Josiah's nose picked up so many smells that it overloads him, and he could not discern which one was which. A person accidentally bumped into him which caused Josiah's claws to grow, His fight or flight response kicked in. He tried calming himself that the threat was all in his head.

The others were not so successful except for Sarria because of Nebo's help.

(Josiah): "Guys listen to my voice, let's go to a place that is less crowded than here and we could get through this."

Azula had an idea that this was going to happen after all the True-beast senses are incredibly refined. She had an idea.

(Azula): "Guys follow me."

They nodded. Josiah's vision was getting blurry the scraping noise that was going on in his head was making him nauseous. They walked until they reached a restaurant called "go-eat-em" Josiah could not look to marvel at it. his body warned that he should go before he passed out.

The door opened automatically, Sarria took a sigh of relief. Max laughed saying.

(Max): "That wasn't so bad now was it."

Sarrs looked at max dead-eyed he looks like he took the worst of it his sense was better than the rest. His face was drenched in sweat.

(Sarrs): "I rather not experience that again."

Sarria laughed nodding her head, pharaoh looks like she just experienced going to hell and coming back to earth all in one second. She nearly collapsed but instinctively Sarrs caught her and helped her up.

Josiah thought about how it was the same as the people who lived in the countryside and came to the city. Since they were not used to such noises and people, they could experience some difficulties.

(Josiah): "Don't worry the more you stay here the more your body will get used to it."

Azula nodded at his words. She went to the waiter and asked for some seats. The waiter nodded, directing them to their spot. The seats were fancy the rug had the face of a man. Josiah wondered how the guy would feel having his face stepped on constantly. Josiah sat down on one of the seats and the table pulled out some screens. It was taking Its time coming out of the table.

Painfully slow. After a couple of seconds which felt like an eternity when the screen showed up, it just showed the category: Food, drinks, and desserts.

(Josiah): "What are all of these foods."

Josiah whispered as quietly as he could, but he finally made a choice thankfully they had pictures with them so all he had to do was look at the one that looked the most visually appealing.

Everyone selected their drinks and meals and the device that was built like a tablet went back to the desk again. The waiter then spoke up.

"Would you guys be comfortable If I use my magic to pour your drinks?"

Josiah was confused why it would be important to even ask.

(Josiah): "Yeah of course."

The waiter smiled and brought out a couple of water bottles. She took off the caps of the bottle then closed her eyes and focused on it. The water flowed out of the bottles; she clasped her hands together. While that spectacle was happening, another waiter came with the cups, they were all over his arm in perfect balance.

As the male waiter settled the cups down Josiah took a better look at his face.

He noticed he was not human, His canines looked more like tusk as it has grown out of his mouth. His head had a horn which Josiah assumed was made from Keratin. The waiter's skin was red and had a tattoo circling his body signifying that he was in his adulthood. He was an Oni.

The female waiter was ready. Her spell was complete, the water shot forth at the right pressure to not cause any accidents, the amount of accuracy that she had was impressive. Sarria clapped and the rest of them clapped for the amazing performance.

A spell is just doing magic specifically at the specific mana consumptions with speed and strength. It is like having a sword but then you train in a set of ways meant for certain uses and that would be a spell.

You could manipulate fire and turn it into a ball, but you are going to have to set the right speed and heat with the consumption to not tire you out, and if you could do this automatically. you turned it into a spell.

It was impressive she created the spell herself doing so requires tweaks and adjustments over time and it was time-consuming.

The Oni waiter was towering over them, but he did not have a presence, everyone's attention focused on the girl. Josiah took a glance at the Oni multiple times but tried to ignore him.

(Azula): "Incredible, what are your names?"

The two glanced at each other before saying it in unison.

"Rose."

"Raivo"

Rose's voice was sweet the accent she had, made her roll her words. Meanwhile, Raivo's voice was rough but was soothing in a way. His accent was something hard to describe. It was like he was scratching the back of his throat.

A couple of waiters came in with a giant tray in hand, one of them used air magic to bring the tray to the middle of the table. Max opened the tray, and the sweet aroma quickly filled the air, the 8 plates circle around the tray. Josiah took his plate his food was hoffe legs with a sauce that was orange in color which taste sweet, and another sauce was red which tasted spicy.

Josiah put a little of the sweet sauce in his meat and took a try at it. He chewed and chewed the meat felt like it was melting. He found it wonderful, but he wondered how it would be if he put a little of the red sauce.

He gave the container a tap until a drip came out. He stopped then stuck out his tongue if you looked closely enough you could see spikes on them. He used them to lick his food the meat tore right off; you could see the bone which was not visible before.

He chews for a moment before swallowing.

(Josiah): "Coff Coff!"

He was not used to spicy food since he never tried it after he was reborn especially since his senses are extremely sensitive. It felt like someone lit him on fire and he was melting. He quickly grabbed the cup of water and gulped it down.

Sarrs laughed at the ridiculous scene. Josiah got up and used his skill to manipulate the force of gravity to pull Sarr's food to him. it was a skinned wing of a Pegasus.

Josiah took out his claws, poking the wings before putting them close to his mouth. Sarrs got up and jumped over. Josiah laughed while the others tried to protect their food.

The other people in the restaurant looked at this rowdy group feeling uncomfortable.
