Blossom
As soon as I arrive home I head straight to my bedroom. I quickly change out of my dress and wash off all the makeup before getting into bed. I'm hoping a good night's rest will help. But right now there is just too much on my mind. I lay in bed and go over everything that has happened today and I still can't believe Justin and I are mates. It's going to take some time to get used to the idea.
The next morning I decide to take Hana out on a jog to talk to her about what happened yesterday. But it's been 30 minutes and I still haven't said a word. I'm finding it hard to know where to start.
"Are you going to tell me what happened yesterday or not?" Asks Hana.
"I'm sorry it's just a lot."
"It's alright, now tell me what happened?"
"Well, the reason Justin and I hugged was because we're mates."
"Really? That's great, Blossom!" Hana exclaims. "I told you you had a chance."
"I honestly thought I'd stay as just childhood friends. I mean he turned me down when I confessed."
"That doesn't mean anything. He just hasn't realized he likes you. You stress too much."
"I guess you're right."
"How do you feel about being mates?"
"I'm not sure. He doesn't seem too happy about it."
"He'll come around. I"m sure of it."
A car suddenly drives past us and I notice that it's not one of our cars.
"Are those visitors? Who could it be?" I inquire.
"Not sure but we should head back now," Hana suggests.
We rush back to the packhouse. I see the car from earlier parked at the entrance.
"Alpha just mind linked me. We have guests from the Blood Moon Pack waiting for you."
"The Blood Moon Pack? Alright, let's go."
We walk into the packhouse and quickly head towards the room they are in. Just as we're about to arrive at the room, I see Justin waiting for me at the entrance.
"Hey, It's nice to see you again."
"Hey. What are you doing here?" I say nervously. He looks at me with such an intense look in his eyes that it makes it hard to look him in the eyes.
"I'm here to announce you as my mate." He grabs my hand. "Come on, let's head in."
We walk into the room together, with Justin firmly holding my hand. Hana stands just behind us in the doorway. In the room, I see my parents and my brother sitting on a couch. Beside them are Justin's parents Marcus and Irene along with Ryan, his beta. My parents look at us intently, waiting for Justin to speak.
"What is it you wanted to speak to us about?" Says my dad.
"During the Alpha ceremony I found my mate," explains Justin. "It's Blossom."
"That's great, dear. Looks like you'll be leaving us soon won't you, Blossom?" Says my mom.
"I suppose," I answer, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
"We can't wait to bring her back with us. There is so much to prepare you for as the future Luna of the Blood Moon pack," says Luna Irene.
I feel like things are progressing too quickly, I mean just found out I was Justin's mate yesterday. I didn't think I would have to leave my pack so soon. I feel like it's too much to process at once. I love Justin, but it doesn't mean I will not miss my family here.
"Alright, enough of that. You're overwhelming Blossom. Why don't we leave those too alone and talk later during dinner?" Suggests my dad.
He really saved me from those two. They didn't seem like they planned on leaving me alone anytime soon.
As soon as Irene, Daryl, and my parents leave the room Justin lets go of my hand. I feel sad and crave more of his touch. But I feel something off about Justin. He seems a bit distant and I decide to just give him space.
"Let's get out of here," Justin suggests.
"Sure."
"Hey, Ryan," Justin says but Ryan doesn't reply.
Ryan is about to leave the room and stops as soon as he notices Hana. His eyes suddenly turn black as he intently gazes at Hana.
"Mate!" Says Ryan, then runs over to Hana. He takes hold of her and it's not long before he is kissing her. She resists slightly at first but then gives in. It's not long before the both of them are passionately making out. It's as if they are the only ones in the room.
"Let's go," Justin whispers to me.
"Right, we should probably go."
We walk out of the room together. I lead the way, heading towards the back door.
"Would you like to come with me on a walk?" I ask.
"Sure."
We exit the Packhouse and head to the forest for a walk. We walk in silence for a few minutes.
"What do you think about us being mates?" Justin finally says.
"I'm actually very happy that we are mates," I say shyly.
I look over at Justin and I notice him tensing up.
"That's great." He says plainly.
I am disappointed with his reply. I thought things would change between us once we were mates. I didn't expect us to be like Hana and Ryan but I also didn't think he would be so distant and closed off toward me.
"I think I'll head back now." I turn around to walk away, trying not to show him my disappointed face.
"Wait!" Justin yells and grabs my arm.
"Look, I'm sorry. I promise I'm happy about our mate bond."
"Alright," I say coldly.
I pull my arm away and walk back to the packhouse alone. I appreciate Justin trying to make me feel better but I don't feel his feelings are sincere. Things definitely did not go how I thought they would but I'll try not to be too disappointed.
