Confusion is a word that is invented for an order, which is not yet understood.
Because if it's understood then it wouldn't be called confusion.
In a small cave between two big trees which were located in a forest that was situated in a city called Rester.
A figure with only one hand and one leg was sitting and around the cave another figure was collecting some logs of wood.
The one inside the cave was of course Dreamer and the one around the cave who was collecting some wood logs was Liberi.
Right now, Dreamer is talking to Helix about cancelling the 1st subordinate perk that was given to Liberi.
And the reason he gave for making this decision made Helix angry, shocked and surprised.
So, right now Helix and Dreamer were arguing about this very matter regarding the cancellation of Liberi's 1st subordinate perk.
'What confusion? Is this really the reason for you to decide such a thing?' asked Helix in a surprised and loud tone as he was unable to fully understand Dreamer's reason for doing such a thing.
'Yeah. This is the real reason. Let me explain..' iterated Dreamer as he started explaining his reasoning that made him take such a decision.
'So, Helix first let's look at Liberi's level.' he said and commanded the system to show Liberi's level.
[ Subordinate : Liberi ]
[ Race : Human? ]
[ *Level : 4.5 (Note : As Liberi is Host's 1st Subordinate so as a reward whenever Host will level up, Liberi's level will also rise by 0.5) ]
'Now, look at his level which is 4.5 and this is the exact reason why I want to cancel this 1st Subordinate perk of rising by 0.5 level everytime I level up.
You see, I am good at talking, thinking, planning and with some training I would be good at fighting too. But this thing, this 0.5 thing and calculations are the stuff where I lose.
So, I want to save the hassle of calculating Liberi's level everytime when I raise my levels.
Because whenever I try to calculate something I get confused and if confusion is the first step to knowledge, then I must be a genius.
But you know too that it didn't work like that and I am not a genius at all.
So, either change Liberi's level to 4 or 5. But just leave the 0.5 thing out of this perk.
In short, cancel the perk of Liberi's rise in level by 0.5 whenever I level up because it's too hard for me to understand and when I can't understand, I get frustrated and as you know, being frustrated can get you killed here.' elaborated Dreamer as he explained his reason for cancelling Liberi's 1st subordinate perk to Helix and then he patiently waited for Helix to share his thoughts on this.
Helix was silent for a few good minutes as he was not sure what to say but after a few seconds Helix finally spoke.
'The reason you gave right now is illogical but…at the same time it's logical too.
And you know, you are the master of this system while I am just a means or a vessel to hold this system.
And also, I am connected to you so indirectly you are my master too.
But I still have the authority to stop you, advise you or even punish you if you do something wrong that can hurt both you and me.
Nevertheless, this decision of yours and the reason you gave me is making me unable to decide if it is a wrong decision or right decision.
The fact that Liberi will lose an advantage is making me think that it is a wrong decision and you not being able to calculate clearly and getting frustrated is making me think that it is a right decision.
But as I said earlier that you are the master of this system and it's your decision to do that and even if it is a wrong decision the most Liberi is losing is a 0.5 additional level.
So, after thinking for a long time I have decided to…agree to your request and cancel the perk.' explained Helix as he agreed to Dreamer's decision to cancel Liberi's 1st subordinate perk. But before Dreamer could say anything, Helix continued in a cold and loud tone.
'And listen kid, when you were explaining your reason you said that either change Liberi's level to 4 or 5. So, allow me to tell you that Liberi's level will be 4 after the cancellation of perk, it will not become 5! Never! Understood!?' stated Helix in a loud voice as he made it clear that Liberi's level will become 4 after the cancellation of perk.
'Yes sir!' obliged Dreamer obediently as he thought that if he asked Helix to make Liberi's level 5 then he would probably get punished by Helix.
'Good. Now wait a second.' said Helix as he started doing some changes in the system.
And then a notification sounded in Dreamer's head and a black interface with white words written on it appeared before Dreamer.
[ Does the host wants to cancel the 1st subordinate perk from his subordinate? ]
'Oh! Nice! Yes, I want to cancel it.' answered Dreamer as he was impressed by Helix's way of cancelling the perk.
After Dreamer answered, the system went silent and after one minute a notification sounded inside Dreamer's head.
[ Ding! ]
[ The 1st Subordinate perk from Liberi got successfully cancelled. ]
'Good! Now show me Liberi's status again.' commanded Dreamer and a screen appeared in front of him again.
[ Subordinate : Liberi ]
[ Race : Human? ]
[ *Level : 4 ]
[ Soul Level : 1 ]
[ Stats ]
[ Strength : 4 ]
[ Stamina : 4 ]
[ Agility : 9 ]
[ Speed : 5 ]
[ Dexterity : 5 ]
[ *Available Stat Points : 30 ]
[ Skills ]
[ Soul Meld ]
[ Spirit Sword ]
[ Fire Arrow ]
[ Leather Skin ]
'Nice! Thank you Helix.' spoke Dreamer after seeing Liberi's status as he thanked Helix for accepting his request.
'Yeah. Yeah. Now what are you going to do about the stat points that Liberi have?' asked Helix as now that Dreamer is finished with his request, so the only thing left now is to distribute Liberi's stats.
'Well, I will distribute them tomorrow after telling Liberi about all this system thing. As I can't distribute the stat points without his consent.' replied Dreamer as he decided that he will distribute Liberi's stats points after telling him about the system.
'As you wish. He is your subordinate after all.' said Helix in a casual tone as it's none of his business whether Dreamer distributes Liberi's stat points now or after some time.
'Yeah.' spoke Dreamer as he stopped talking to Helix and finally closed his eyes to have some rest.
But just as Dreamer closed his eyes Liberi came and put some wood logs on the ground of the cave which made a loud voice and then Liberi started speaking too in an enthusiastic manner.
"My lord! I am back! Oh, were you sleeping? I am sorry if I disturbed you."
"Don't worry, I was just about to sleep so you came at the right time. Anyway, Have you collected the materials?" asked Dreamer while laying down as he was too tired to even get up.
"Yes my lord! I have acquired the things that can be used to make a decent barrier." replied Liberi in a joyful manner as he was very happy to help his lord.
"Good. So create a barrier and be on guard duty." ordered Dreamer as he closed his eyes again.
"Yes, my lord." replied Liberi as he started making the barrier.
Liberi picked up the wooden logs from the ground and arranged them in a horizontal manner. The wooden logs were pretty long so it easily covered the cave's entrance.
And in thirty minutes Liberi finished creating the barrier and finally sat down to take some rest.
And while sitting he spoke with Dreamer in a low voice.
"My lord. Are you sleeping?"
After Liberi asked this in a low voice, Dreamer didn't say anything for a few seconds but eventually he spoke in a tired manner.
"What is it?"
"Oh, so you were awake my lord!" said Liberi in a normal voice as he now knows that Dreamer isn't asleep.
"What is it?" asked Dreamer again as he didn't want to talk pointlessly because he was very tired and sleepy.
"Well, my lord. I just wanted to know what would happen if we got lost while hunting in this big forest?" asked Liberi again in a low voice and he asked this question because he knew that both him and Dreamer aren't familiar with this forest so there was a high possibility that they might get lost in the wilderness.
And after hearing this question, Dreamer just let out a small laugh and without opening his eyes, he spoke in a carefree manner.
"Don't worry! The hunter that travels out into the woods is lost for the world. Yet, finds himself!"
