Both the Demon king and the God king were blinded by the light coming from the ring. They couldn't see anything that happened with the human.

WHOOSH!

A gust of wind swept across the Kings and Dreamer. Moreover, the light coming from the ring was no more.

Both the Kings finally got the chance to open their eyes and when they saw the scene in front of them, they were out of words.

The human, who was between the weapons and was crying for help, wasn't there anymore. Not even his smell was there as if he had never existed.

The scythe and the trident were also present but they were lying on the ground.

Both Kings didn't fret over the matter of Dreamer for too long and stretched their hands at the weapons.

The trident and the scythe vibrated and flew back towards their hands.

After that, they both glared at each other and vanished from their spot. Perhaps they went somewhere to continue their fight.

---

"Ugh.." Dreamer groaned. He twisted his body and jolted straight up.

"Where am I?" He asked. He remembered what happened to him. Images of both Kings flashed in front of his eyes as sweat appeared on his face.

He looked around the surroundings. "Hospital?"

He was in a hospital and currently sitting on a bed.

"What happened? How did I end up here?" The last thing he remembered was dying. He proceeded to get out of the bed.

He moved his right leg. "Ah.. damn." A sting of sharp pain stopped him from moving.

Tuk!

To Dreamer's left side, a curtain moved aside and a half bald man came out.

"So you finally woke up." He said with a smile.

Dreamer frowned. "What do you mean by 'finally'?"

The man smiled again. "You were asleep for three whole days, kid."

"What?" Dreamer's brows shot up. "Three days? Are you kidding me?"

The man shook his head. "I have no reason to joke around. I am just a doctor."

'What the hell? Three days? But wait… how did I even end up here?' Dreamer questioned.

No one would have brought him here and he wasn't in a state where he could arrive on his own. Only the doctor could give an answer.

"Did you see anyone dropping me here? My memory is a bit hazy so I can't really remember." Dreamer indirectly asked.

But the doctor shrugged his shoulders. "You were just lying outside the hospital's gate. Unconscious.

Someone from my staff saw you and took you in."

"I see." Dreamer knitted his brows.

"Anyway," Doctor said. "Why were you lying unconscious out there?"

"Huh? You don't know. You treated me, right?" The doctor should know the reason.

But the man shook his head. "There wasn't any injury on your body. But your clothes were covered in blood so I thought you were unconscious because of the loss of the blood. How did you get all that blood from?"

'No injury? But my chest was pierced.' Dreamer touched his chest and went wide eyed.

His chest had nothing resembling an injury. It was as clean as the sky.

'Wait a second… That thing..' Dreamer finally remembered. 'I have to leave first.'

He couldn't check that thing in front of the Doctor nor in the hospital. He needed to go home.

"Hey kid, I am asking something. How did you get all this blood?" The doctor spoke again.

"Ah. Yes." Dreamer came back to reality and answered.

"I ended up standing between a fight and got injured. I decided to come to the hospital but passed out just in front of the gate.

And since my memory is still hazy, I don't know why I don't have any serious injuries." Dreamer mixed lies and truths in his answer but it was good enough.

The doctor stared at Dreamer for a moment and nodded. "I see. You should rest for another day. I will come bac…"

"No need." Dreamer interrupted the doctor. "I am fine now. I will rest at home."

"Are you sure?" The doctor asked.

Dreamer nodded.

"Try to stand up." Doctor said, wanting to test Dreamer's claims.

"Sure." Dreamer said and stood up.

The sharp pain from before disappeared and both of his legs were fine.

The doctor circled around his body, touching his knees and nodding along the way.

"I see no problem as well. Alright, you can leave." The doctor gave the green signal.

Dreamer smiled. "Thanks."

"Make sure to change your clothes. You can't roam around like that."

Dreamer's clothes were dyed red. He nodded and finally took his leave.

He didn't need to give any fees as the hospital was free of cost. It was a charity. Free for anyone who couldn't afford treatment.

After walking for thirty minutes, he arrived in front of a wooden shelter. That was his house.

"Strange." Dreamer said, looking at his house. "It's perfectly alright. I thought it would be demolished by the fight."

Apart from blood stains, his house was standing firm. The fight between the Kings didn't affect his house. Which was indeed, strange.

Nevertheless, he didn't care about it for long and went inside.

He sat down on the bed and his eyes fell on the table beside the bed.

On the table, a photograph with a rusted frame was kept.

Two people were inside the photograph. Dreamer's father and Dreamer's mother.

"He would have worried a lot if he knew what happened today." Dreamer said, staring at the photo.

His mother died while giving birth to him and after that, he lived with his father for 7 years.

However, when he became 8 years old, his father left home while only leaving behind a ring and a letter.

In the letter, his father had written "I'll be waiting." That was all.

And the ring which was black from the outer side and white from the inner side. Apart from having a nice design, nothing seemed special about the ring.

[[Author : Reference Art for the ring is given in the chapter's comments. Check it out.]]

Dreamer was very confused at that time. Why did his father leave him? What's with the ring and the letter? He tried to find his father but an eight year old kid could only do so little.

He had no choice but to wait and wear the ring.

Nothing peculiar happened with the ring all this time. No movement. No lights. Nothing.

But today, after ten years when Dreamer turned 18 years old, the ring finally somewhat woke up.

He gawked at the ring, tracing his finger on its surface as he proceeded to see that thing again..

"Ah. So, how to start? What was its name again? Demonly. Godly. Uh… Yes."

With a smile, he said…

"The Godly Demon System."
