Lexie nodded, a smile on her face. She couldn't believe he had actually allowed her to have breakfast with him, Madeline and Briar!

He was doing this because Lexie had mentioned she wanted to apologise to Madeline. And maybe because he found it fascinating. He wondered if she had really meant it, and if she considered him a friend. She had been the first to ever ask him out to breakfast, and she had been the first to decline a second round.
At the same time, he wondered where the girl he met yesterday had gone. The Lexie he talked to now wasn't feisty, she had asked to have breakfast with him.
