Briar twirled around, the happiest she had ever been. She flopped onto Madeline's bed.
"He confessed, I confessed. We even kissed."
"Congrats," Madeline said, a smirk on her face.
"So, you and Adrian got any plans?"
She nodded, "We've got our very first date."
"And when is that?"
"Tomorrow," Briar said, before she repeated herself, "Tomorrow, I'm going on my very first date."
Briar couldn't care any less if she wasn't Adrian's real mate. Maybe his true mate was somewhere out there, waiting to meet the person she'd one day come to love. But that was a possibility.
She knew for a fact that Adrian had feelings for her, and there was nothing that could possibly change that. That kiss was real. It was magical, although maybe that was because Adrian was also a good kisser.
