Xavier was rendered speechless. Apologising wouldn't do anything.
Madeline wanted to run. Not away from him, but towards him.
"She threatened to kill you if I didn't come. How am I supposed to react to that? I didn't react there because I didn't want to make a scene, but how could she possibly do such a thing? Had she explained the situation and told me why she did what she did, then maybe I would be able to come to terms with it… but she didn't. She didn't do anything but demonstrate and flaunt her powers. I didn't know what would happen if I didn't come, she didn't tell me who she was, I was left in the dark. I'm not blaming any of that on you, but… you kept that from me too."
Madeline's eyes fixed on him, and she couldn't help but sniffle.
