A few minutes later Yubin was dressed and in the kitchen making coffee. Mingyu was sitting on the sofa very awkwardly waiting for Yubin to finish making coffee. "We shall never EVER speak of this again" she said very embarrassed. Mingyu started chuckling then started laughing and so Yubin grabbed the coffee and two cups and sat on the sofa in front of Mingyu. "Why are you laughing! It's not funny it was- WEIRD!" He laughed even more.
"Sorry sorry it's just I haven't see you naked since we were like 6 and seeing you embarrassed and blushing just makes me laugh" Yubin rolls her eyes and pours coffee into her cup then she started slowly sipping on it. Mingyu does the same and they both sit in awkward silence. After 4 awkward minutes Mingyu broke the silence "Maybe next time I come over you should put clothes on first..heh.. you don't wanna know what I can do when I get excited" Yubin almost chokes on her coffee and puts down the cup while coughing. "Mingyu shut the fuck up stop playing" he laughed but inside he couldn't help but tell himself it really isn't a joke but it's fine.
The rest of that week the girls would constantly make fun of Yubin and bully her when they get the chance. Yubin is already tired with their bull but she feels overpowered to do anything about it. Mingyu and Changmin actually started getting along but when it came to Yubin they would always fight.
~The Next Week~
Yubin was waking up and doing her usual morning routine. She opens the door for who she thought was Mingyu but it wasn't at all who she thought it was. "Dad?....." Yubin looks up at her father who was holding his hands over a spot near the center of his chest. He uncovered it and Yubin saw what looked like a stab wound and a lot of blood. "Help..." he fell to the ground and Yubin quickly called for an ambulance. His eyes were slowly closing and he started mumbling something. "Huh?..d-dad what is it?!" She got closer to him "0...5..2...5...my....p-pocket" he completely closed his eyes and let out the last bit of air in him. "NO DAD! FuCK damn iT!" Tears streamed down her face.
Yubin checked in her father's pockets and found a paper and a flash drive. The paper had an address so she hid the flash drive and the paper in her bra when the cops and ambulance showed up. Mingyu was going to pick up Yubin so he showed up but saw an ambulance and two cop cars. Yubin was sitting on her porch crying her eyes out telling the cops what happened but she didn't tell them about the numbers or the paper or the flash drive. She told them she couldn't hear what he was saying but she wrote down the numbers on her phone.
Mingyu ran to her and asked what happened. The police and ambulance were leaving and Mingyu hugged Yubin tightly and asked if she was okay. She turned to him and looked him in the eyes. "My dad....just died...right here...a few minutes ago" tears streamed down her face. Mingyu was in shock he's known her dad ever since they were little, he was like his dad in a way too. His eyes and nose started getting red and tears ran down his cheeks as he hugged Yubin tighter.
After they went inside and calmed down a bit Yubin made tea and they were sipping their tea while Yubin told Mingyu everything. Every little detail and everything he said and even what she found. Yubin's dad was the head of the police department and their best officer. He was recently investigating a very very old case. A cold case you could call it. The last time he called Yubin he told her he was working on the case and that he might not be home much.
"So what's the case he was working on?" Mingyu asked very intrigued. Yubin finished her tea and placed her cup down on the table. "My mother's death....he reopened her case....because he wanted to know who killed her and why..." goosebumps covered Mingyu's whole body. They talked more about her father and memories until Mingyu asked to see the paper and flash drive.
Yubin gave the paper and flash drive to Mingyu and took out her laptop. They turned on the laptop and plugged in the flash drive. They then opened the drive and saw 4 pictures. In one picture a man was putting things in a box and in another he was putting it in a hole in the ground in the middle of a park. "I think we just found the guy who killed your mom-....or he's just a guy burying a time capsule" Yubin flicks his fore head and rolls her eyes. "Ow what was that for?" He rubs the spot where she flicked him. "How can you still be laughing and making jokes when someone just died!" He shrugs and looks down then back up at the computer.
"Wait Yubin look! Isn't that your mom?!?" Yubin looks at the third picture and sees two men speaking and behind the corner was her mother ease dropping. "What if she found out about something and they found out she knew and had to take her out...." Yubin said with a worried face. "That means whoever killed your mom also killed your dad and they might be coming after you next" Mingyu held Yubin's hand and caressed it. "Don't worry binnie I won't let anything happen to you" Yubin hugged him and let out a small sigh. "Mingyu nothing is going to happen to me okay" they both nod in agreement and continue to try and decode the numbers her father had told her.
That week Mingyu helped Yubin set up cameras all over her house. They both agreed to check them at the end of the week. On Saturday Yubin was sitting on her couch with a hydrating soothing face mask on when Mingyu came bursting in. "Yubin you need to look at this!" He opened his laptop and opened the security camera records. Everyday when she went out a man was caught taking pictures of her from the side of the house. "Yubin listen I think it's for the better if you come live with me, at least until this diles down" Mingyu stood up and crossed his arms. "No Mingyu I don't want to put you in any danger" he shakes his head and takes her hand "no no no i can protect you I promise" she smiles and ruffles his hair "I'll be fine okay" he kept denying it so Yubin just left it at that.
