As our story starts we see a fox-like creature with one blue eye and one orange eye peering into an orb from within a completely white room staring and watching the orb that shown an old man in a green helmet and uniform with a beard leap into a ditch avoiding gunshots and explosions in a panic. The fox-like creature continued to watch as he sighed and said "There's nothing fun to do." The creature began to poke the orb as he said "Come on, do something interesting already." The creature glanced at the reader as he said "Oh… so the writer is back." The creature began to smile as he said "I knew you'd come back eventually, all I had to do was wait." The creature lifted the orb and said "I did as you asked "I split my power infinitely amongst infinity and then split myself even more infinitely throughout those infinities, although my power may not be so great right now, I should be able to control everything while observing it all." The creature pointed to the orb and said "You wanted a story right? Well then take a seat next to this and start writing." The creature set the orb back down on the ground and then vanished as he said "Well, I got some work to do so your story isn't completely boring." As the creature walked away he appeared inside the orb in front of the man who was now bleeding out from a bullet wound. The creature began to approach him with a smile as he said "Hey… you seem pretty knowledgeable… so let me ask you a question."
The man glanced at him while holding the bullet hole in his chest as he softly smiled and said "You must be the angel they sent to come and get me." The creature's smile grew wider as he said "Forget that angel talk, do you think anyone can be a hero?" The man coughed and then said "A hero? Yeah… I don't see why they couldn't be a hero." The creature continued to smile as he said "Time for question two, do you think everyone would choose to be a hero if given the chance?" The man stared at him for a moment and then smiled as he slowly began to fall sideways saying "Of course… I know I'd leap at the opportunity… to be a hero." As the man lied there dead the creature's smile grew wider as he said "It's an interesting theory… so why don't we give it a try." The creature stared up as if he was staring outside of the orb as he said "Now let's make things interesting." The orb began to distort as if it was glitching like in a video game as the creature's eyes began to glow brightly he laughed while saying "It's been a while since I've done something on this scale." After he said this the orb went black for a few seconds and then bright white showing the sky and then lowering down to a school building with a sign out front that read "Level Up Heroes." The creature stood beside the sign still smiling as he said "Not too shabby, now let's keep this story moving."
As a teenage boy with brown hair and blue eyes shot up from bed breathing heavily he shouted "I was shot!" The boy stared at his chest and patted it as he said "T-there… there's no hole?" The boy glanced around the room for a moment and then said "Wait… where am I?" As the door slammed open the creature smiled and said "This is a school called Level Up Heroes, this is a place where I'll be teaching you how to use become a hero using a special system I've installed into this reality." The creature pointed at him as he said "Now say menu!" As the boy said menu a box-like icon appeared about an arm's length away from him. The boy stared at it for a moment and then said "Maybe that bullet hole was real… I must've died and this must be what heavens like." The creature walked over to him with a smile as he said "Your half right, that bullet did kill you, but this isn't heaven, this is a school that I created while altering your world, and right now you need to get out of bed so we can start class." The boy stared at the box icon in front of him as he said "Wait, class? I'm a grown man!" The fox creature made a mirror appear in front of him as he said "Wrong, I changed your age as well, now get out of bed and get to class." The boy began to feel his face as asked "Is this really me? My hair is so much shorter, and less grey, and my beard is gone!" The creature nodded as it said, "Yeah now hurry up you're taking up too many pages with this basically useless dialogue." The boy stared at him for a moment as if he was crazy and then asked "B-but, what about this box the popped up?"
The creature glanced at it and said "Oh right… I made it so everyone else thinks it's normal but I planned to explain it to you personally." The creature thought for a moment and pointed to a few numbers saying "This one corresponds to the amount of people you've killed and this one corresponds to the number you've saved, depending on how many you save or kill you get points to upgrade yourself and unlock superpowers, however killing people requires you to kill ten people in order to get a single point, and saving people gives you a point per person saved." The creature tapped the word shop on the box icon and said "I've made it so that everyone gets some random attribute or ability once they're born, those abilities can be upgraded through points or through use, you can also unlock other powers through training, for example, if I remember correctly your beginner power was thick skin, but if you train and practice with it you can level it up to stone skin." The boy stared at him in disbelief as he said "Your joking right?" The creature began to scroll through the shop at a rapid rate making it hard to see what powers were on the list as he said "Yup, there are seven stages to your power, the final one is called impenetrable skin, also you don't have to get all the powers at tier one, you can even buy them at their final stage, for example, the power sharp nails can cut through wood pretty easily, but it's upgraded form razor claws can cut through steel, and you could buy that stage easily, but it would cost a lot of points."
The man stared at him excitedly as he asked "How do I activate it?" The creature clicked a button that read powers as he said "You go to this tab here and turn them on, some of the powers are too dangerous to be left on so it's better to have it like this." The creature flipped the power on as he said "But as for defensive skills like this it should be okay to leave on." The creature pat out a sigh of relief and said "That should cover everything now hurry up and get to the entrance ceremony before you miss it." The man quickly stumbled out of bed as he said "R-right, thank you!" The creature stood outside of the door as he said "Your uniform is in the top drawer." The boy began to get dressed as he said "Crap I don't even know where the school is." The creature laughed as he said "Really? You've been in it this whole time." The boy dashed out of the door completely dressed as he ran down the hall shouting "What are you talking about, this is an apartment right?" The creature began to float beside him as he said "No, this is one of the dorm rooms." As the boy rushed down some stairs and swung the door open he saw dozens of people using all sorts of powers, some were flying, some were lifting thousand-pound weights easily and others had elemental like powers that allowed them to control plants, fire, electricity, and all sorts of other things."
The boy stood there for a moment in amazement as he said "Woah… this is amazing." The creature shrugged as he said, "I guess so, but I'm sure it'll get even more interesting." The boy began to excitedly look around as he asked "Is it true that I'll be able to get powers like this?" The creature continued to float in place as he asked "Did he forget about the entrance ceremony already?" The creature sighed as he said, "I guess it's not really important, I was planning on skipping it even though I'm supposed to be the one to give the stupid speech." As the creature began to float off a short purple-haired girl with purple eyes called out to him by shouting "Hey teach! Aren't you supposed to be giving the opening speech soon?" The creature glanced at her as he said "Actually I was planning t-" the girl cut him off as she said, "You've started this school seven years ago, you can't be skipping it now!" The creature sighed as he said, "Yeah yeah, I'll be over in a second." The girl grabbed his arm and began to drag him across the sky towards a massive building as she said "Come on, so many students are excited to see you." The creature sighed and then shouted, "Hey, don't miss the opening ceremony any of you." The boy flinched for a moment and then dashed over to where the creature was as he nervously asked "D-do you mind telling me where this opening ceremony is?"
The girl dragging the creature glanced at the boy and said "It's the building we're heading to, and this person you've been talking to is supposed to be giving the big speech that starts off this school year." The boy stared at the creature for a moment and then bowed as he nervously said "It's an honor to meet you, thank you for having me attend this awesome school." The creature stared at him annoyed as he said "I'm pretty sure you didn't even wanna be here when you woke up." The boy stared at him awkwardly as he said "Well that was before I knew it was superhero school." The creature took his arm back from the girl and stuck his hand out as he said "Thomas, that's my name, nice to meet you." The boy quickly shook his hand as he nervously said "M-my name's Leo!" Thomas pointed to the girl and said "And this is Anna, she's a second-year here and her personality is uptight, she pesters me when I try to get out of work." Anna stared at him as she said "I am not uptight!" Thomas shrugged as he said, "Sure, whatever you say, now let's get this stupid opening ceremony over with."
