Palmyra, Syria
10/9/2002
In a far deserted place where the only thing you could heed was the gunshots and missiles and the only thing you could smell was the gunpowder, The battlefield was getting tense, losing soldiers every minute, The War with the enemies had only begun until the second biggest earthquake hit the battlefield.
Both the enemies and The Bloodline units were fastening themselves until the earthquake finished. As they were more focused on the battle than the earthquake so, they cared less.
"Fucking bad timing this earthquake, Flint, how *gasp* many are there left," said Wagner.
Looking through the scope he saw fewer enemies.
"Feels like we're gonna win"
However, when he looked through the scope again he began to notice something.
Both the enemy sides and soldiers were being
heaved down into the ground
"Wa-wait, something's wrong," said Flint putting up a frowned face.
"Huh? What"
The enemies were slowly disappearing and so did the soldiers.
Unexpectedly something from the ground came up.
It was anything but human and an animal. The way it stared at Flint's scope gave him chills and he couldn't move his arm.
"This doesn't feel right, Ru-run"
"Huh tell me wh-"
"Just fucking run you stupid motherfucker" The only thing Flint could do except for shooting was run.
With no idea why Flint was running Wagner also ran with him and as he ran and looked back, he took his gun and shot it but he missed so, he began to run as fast as he could and surpassed Flint.
"General look at this"
When the General saw Flint and Wagner running towards them he thought they were running from the enemies, well they were but not from humans and when he too saw that thing running behind Flint and Wagner's back.
"Shoot the Missile, I repeat shoot the Missile towards them," said the General to the soldiers.
"But General, they're our soldiers"
"Just goddamn do it"
As the Missile came flying towards them, they both separated and ran in a different direction.
And the missile landed directly into that thing.
The soldiers and general came through the tanks to look at what it was and when they saw it, they were left with an expressionless face.
"Take this to the lab and don't let it out in the public," said the General.
Flint was worried while Wagner didn't care
"I don't think I can go out to the battlefield anymore," said Flint while changing his clothes in the locker room.
And then Wagner said
"We have been together for 1 year and you're still saying that?" he also mentioned that
the monster can be easily defeated with the help of military resources so they needn't worry about it.
"But man I sure do wanna go home and live a peaceful life," said Wagner as he changed his clothes and dropped a locket, when Flint picked it up he saw a picture of a girl.
"Sarahi, my wife," said Wagner
"Ohh, so you wanted to go home and meet your wife?"
"She passed away last year due to cancer"
Though Flint felt bad after asking that, he tried to cheer him up.
The monster was in a very bad state, its digestive system to its whole body part was all ripped open which left a disgusting look in both Flint and Wagner's eyes.
"Ahh, you both came at the right time, this is something which I've never seen in my life and the interesting part is that it's made up of 60% ground so we call it "Geo Teras" meaning "Ground monsters", said the Researcher.
Then suddenly another big earthquake hit the place and Flint and Wagner both heard shouting coming from the outside.
They then took their guns and went outside and saw multiple same monsters which showed up recently, running towards them.
"Soldiers ready and begin fire," said the General and every soldier started firing and some even threw missiles.
With all that, half of the monsters died and the remaining left.
"From now on you will be given a limited time to sleep and eat and you will be training and fighting against the Geo Teras and let me tell you something, the soil here is suitable for the Geo teras so they won't even dare to go outside this valley so, show me your true potential," said the General with an urgent look on his face.
With the training session ending, the day finally took place in a Rainy day
"Brace yourself, it's gonna hit anytime soon now," said the Researcher who had an exciting yet worrying look.
The big earthquake again hit and the soldiers shouted
"For BLOODLINE"
Many soldiers died yet Flint and Wagner survived till the last day.
The war went on for 6 months and the last day finally came.
"Just one left," said the Researcher
"No wait, It died!"
"We-we finally did it" Flint was filled with joy and excitement.
He began to run and search for Wagner and saw him laying down in the stone wall. He again ran towards him carrying an eager expression and yelled
"We fucking did it Wagner" but when he got closer and closer he slowly stopped running and suddenly stopped at one point.
He threw his gun on the ground and he felt like his soul just left his body. The smile he had... It slowly faded away into nothingness.
Wagner was missing a left eye and could barely open his other eye and he was missing his right hand and lower part of his body.
Flint slowly walked towards him in the cold heavy rain.
"So, we finally did it huh. I can't wait to go home, man" said Wagner with a cheerful smile.
"I wonder where Sarahi is"
And after a moment of silence, Flint answered
"Sss-she's waiting for you"
"Ahh, I see. I can't move right now so, let me just rest here for a while" said Wagner and rested till his last breath.
The only thing which remained with him till his last breath was the locker he was holding with his left hand and the unforgettable smile which never faded away even after his death.
Flint slowly hugged him, biting his lips hardly as he stood in the cold longing rain waiting for nobody.
