Raine let out a relieved sigh as she stepped out of the meeting room alone. She didn't expect her stunt to actually work but seeing as the Elders seemed to give her their time of day, then she could only assume that they were considering it.
"Or at least, Nathan's making them consider it…"
Leaving her mate alone to deal with the old farts kind of felt scummy, in her opinion, but it was the best course of action considering that she was already pushing her welcome. If all else, Nathan could at least hash out the more proper terms that would constitute her tests.
