The world stopped right then and there.
Raine did nothing except cry her heart out. She didn't know how long she stayed in the garden with her father's unmoving head lying on her lap, but what she did know was that she still couldn't believe what just happened. Even with all of the evidence stating otherwise, there was just no way that her father just died with her not being able to do anything about it.
"Boss, please get a hold of yourself," Lyne pleadingly whispered as she tried to pull Raine back to reality. "We're still technically under attack."
Whether Raine heard Lyne or not, she didn't show it as she no longer cared about her surroundings. As far as she knew, the world consisted of herself and her dead father as she struggled to come to terms with reality. It truly seemed as if Raine was rendered catatonic by Marcus's death.
