Nathan had already wrapped up his discussions with his confidants inside the secret room. Soon enough, everyone of them left one by one till he and Davin were the only ones left inside.
"You should send her back along with the rest," Davin suggested. "You do know that's the only way we can get those kids back from Marcus in time." Based on his tone, it was clear that he disagreed with how Nathan was handling the situation in a way to keep Raine with him.
Hearing the suggestion, Nathan's face darkened as he simply and firmly stated, "I will not let her go back to him."
Davin crossed his arms together as he looked at Nathan with a frown. "Did you even ask her what she wants to do? Have you even told her the truth yet on how her father's currently holding two innocent children captive as bargaining tools to negotiate for her life and release?"
