After deciding on the deal with my Dad I agree to start work the following week so I have the rest of this week to work at the hospital and put things into place to start work at the company. I put a call through to my friend who is a professor at the city central hospital and since I have a good reputation as a doctor who graduated with good grades at the most relevant university and good references, it didn't take time to secure a position at the hospital.
I went into work that same day without wasting anymore time, God I miss working as a doctor, the white coat, the gloves, blue, red and black pen, patients file, oh I so much miss everything. Stepping into the hospital I breath in a full breath of the environment, I savor the smell of the hospital, I miss this so much, here I am again, time to get to work.
My friend Josh came to welcome me, you are welcome pal, Josh, I gave him a hug, thanks dude you are quite fast on that, it not me Eric it you, this sector is really missing a very good surgeon like you, and am happy you are back. Thanks man, so I will show you to your office and you can start work immediately, the person you are standing in for has a lot of patients in waiting so you are going to have a full day, I don't mind having a full day cause it gonna be a fun day.
After Josh showed me to my office he left to attend to his own patients, while am hook up in mine. Apparently the former doctor and I are the same major so it was easy to quickly absorb my self in and in no time I started attending to her patients well they are my patients now.
Doctor, yes, I look up from my file, how can I help you Nurse..... Abigail, it's Bridget sir not Abigail, pardon my manners I haven't gotten use to you yet. It no problem doctor, I came to Inform you that you have an appointment in the next an hour, here is the patient file, thank you Nurse Bridget I said collecting the file from her.
I notice the nurse is still standing obviously staring at me, anything else nurse, oh no pardon me sir, I will take my leave now, I nodded to her and get back to the file. No matter how I look at this file I can't seems to take my mind off it that something is not right, though everything looks so normal as if just a regular check up but I can't place my hand on it yet but it looks like something is wrong. Have been on the patients file for so long , checking my watch the patient will soon be here.
I should ask Josh to help look at this file he might get what the problem is quicker than I am, I stood up looking at file on my way out of the office when someone bump into me, or should I say a soft fluffy bear or bunny, no it a soft fluffy woman or......lady. helping the lady up, omg what the f...k, she's so hot.
I mean hot like hot, I mean she's running a high temperature don't get me wrong she's hot like hell too with a long brown hair and black eyes, wait the eyes are so black wow what a gorgeous being, hey Eric be a gentle man. She's zoning out just like I am are you okay I ask her, am sorry, am fyn, am sorry I didn't check where am going.
It okay am at fault too, are you Miss Bernard, yes I am. Please come in and have your sit. Thanks doctor, what a cool and calm voice but I can't help notice anxiety in them. So I will just call the nurse so you can do your usual check up. Okay but am not really here for my check up I came bearing complains though I might as well do my check up since am here she said.
Ok, tell me then, I answered her looking so attentive, she inform me of how she's feeling and I call the nurse to run some test on her. After some minutes her results are ready, Miss Bernard there is no cause for alarm you are running a fever but it a high one and also your blood pressure is a little bit high and you seems to be emotionally unstable.
So you will be here at least for the rest of the day you will be given a drip to lower the fever, get your medications and then you can leave. Doctor can I just take the medications alone I can't be here the whole day I really have a lot to do. Honestly I was shocked to hear that from someone who is getting cooked up with that very high temperature.
This is bad she has to get treated, Miss Bernard it seems you do not understand what I just said you are running a high fever which is due to stress anymore stress it will be drastic on your health so please follow my instructions and you can leave at night.
Thank you Doctor but I really have to leave, I will be fine with the medications. Okay if you say so, the nurse will give you the prescription so you can get the drugs at the pharmacy. Thank you doctor, you are welcome get better soon and have a nice day. She got out of her sit and leave.
Hmmmm this is interesting on my first day am actually meeting a stubborn patient, stubborn patients are interesting to watch but they are hard to treat ahhh I rub my fore head sensing a headache. Picking up the phone I called the head nurse, nurse Bridget ..... Sorry doctor am Abigail the head nurse , your assistance is Bridget sir, do you need Bridget's attention.
No am sorry nurse Abigail it your attention that I need and you can come with nurse Bridget, ok doctor. The two Nurse walked in, please prepare a bed and a drip to lower the fever for Miss Bernard, but doctor Miss Bernard just left now, I know but she will be back soon.
What do you mean doctor....she won't last the next five minutes...... Doctor, doctor, there is an emergency, one other nurse came rushing in, what is it , your patient who just left has been rushed back in sir apparently she fainted at the pharmacy. Ok guys get to work and prepare her bed immediately I started barking orders at the nurse standing up from my sit we all get to work. This will be a long day.
