Chapter 74 - Chapter 74 - An Unknown Relative

---Elsewhere, 3rd Person POV---

Having put a few days travel between themselves and Raccoon City, the group of escapees had barely managed to lose the horde chasing them. Making the decision to use a passing convoy of survivors as bait, they had managed to shift their pursuers target to the convoy leaving them without a tail. Unexpectedly Lucy and Zero Two were disgusted with them for sacrificing their own kind to save their hides. They made that abundantly clear by executing two of the scientist by ripping their heads off using the wheels of the moving car. No one suspected them to feel this way given their distaste for humanity.

Having made the decision herself, Jessica was a bit upset that she made the decision. The two they killed happened to be some of the first people that started working under her. Watching them die such a gruesome death upset her, but it furthered the caused of getting to their destination quicker. Since there was no turning back now, she was willing to do whatever it took to make it there alive...even if it led to her dying at the hands of Wesker's son.

"This trip is becoming more and more tiresome...", Lucy said staring at Jessica with killing intent, "Your usefulness of being alive is becoming less and less. I thought maybe you might regained the enlightenment that human's like to believe they have, but instead you'd sacrifice others to save yourselves. It's laughable you think your special..."

"Agreed, bringing you to the young boy would be a waste of our energy and time.", Zero Two stated with a irritated look, "Garbage has no place repopulating the planet. You all ruined this world for all of creation."

"Unless you can run faster than this car or know how to drive, this is the fastest mode of transportation." Jessica remarked nervously, "Killing us will only slow you down."

"Frankly at this point we only need one of you alive, and the one with the least amount of blood is the most appealing.", Lucy snickered, "She has a chance to redeem herself, an old hag like yourself is too far gone. What was the saying the Professor used to tell our sisters...you can't fix a broken tool..."

Slamming on the brakes, Jessica looked back to plead for her life but it was already too late. Not a sound came out of her mouth before her colleagues were decapitated leaving just the intern alive. Watching their heads fall off, she watched the world around her start to spin slowly around her. Seeing her own body be pushed out of the car, she realized she was dead with only a few moments of life left. Regretting her life choices for those brief moments she faded into nothingness without a sound.

As the only remaining member of the team, the intern broke out into a cold sweat. Telling her to drive them to the base where the grown child was, they said not to do anything stupid or they'd kill her next. Doing as they said she hopped into the driver's seat, and was about to leave when Zero Two sensed that someone was approaching them. Running out of the forest with cuts and bruises, two women approached them fleeing for their lives from something. Recognizing them from wanted pictures in Umbrella Corp HQ, the Intern shrieked in horror.

"You are Jill Valentine and Alice!!", she gulped, "You are wanted criminals!!"

"Shit, more of you fuckers!", Alice said raising her rifle, "Just what I needed more Umbrella shits!"

"Wait!! Wait!! I am just an intern!!", she screamed, "I have only been working here for half a year!! It wasn't even my first choice!! My mother made me do it!!"

Blocking the bullets that followed with her invisible arms, Lucy looked at them with an amused smile.

"She is our means to reach the person we seek. Do not interfere!", Lucy laughed with a smile, "Though I sense we are likely headed to same place, no?"

"Where are you going?", Jill asked hesitantly.

"Alaska...we are going to the settlement there led by Wesker's son Victor. He is trying-", the Intern started to tell them.

"We know.", Alice sighed, "If you are going there, we are coming with you. Our goal is meet up with colleagues, and regroup to kill that son of bitch Wesker."

Jumping into the car, they told the intern to step on it or things would get ugly. Asking them what they were running from, a few moments a hulking mutant came charging out of the forest. Not waiting to get an answer, the Intern threw it into drive and floored it. While she was busy getting away, Zero Two stared at Alice intently for a few moments.

"I know you...the Professor brought you into her lab a few times.", Zero Two stated with a smile, "You are one of the few humans that is immune to the infection, no? How did you manage to get away from them?"

"Yeah...now that you say that, I do have a vague feeling we met before.", Alice said unable to recall the event as her early years were a fog to her, "Honestly, I can't remember much of how I got out. My memories start waking up in a barn somewhere in New York a few years ago."

As a clone of a dead girl, Alice shared some of her memories along with her own. If she tried to recall things in the distant past her memories would become all jumbled up making recalling anything accurately impossible. From what she had gathered, someone within the company freed her and just dumped her in a barn. She didn't know who they were or why they did it, but the nightmare she had suggested they saved her from a terrible life as a lab rat.

"Interesting, that makes you similar to us.", Lucy said with a smile, "Zero Two, do you remember anything more about her? The Professor liked to talk too much thinking we didn't understand a word she said."

"She was born from another project that someone asked the Professor to perform in exchange for research funding.", Zero Two replied recalling what she heard the Professor talk about while pretending to slumber in her pod, "The doctor said she was a clone that might cause Umbrella Corp harm in the event she got free. Unlike normal humans she is immune to the virus. supposedly has increased senses, and an overall stronger body. I vaguely remember the Professor mentioning heightened intelligence, but I am not sure."

"Immune isn't the term I would use, more like my body is resistant the virus to a certain degree. Too much of it will kill me and turn me into one of them.", Alice remarked, "I'd rather not find out what that limit is."

"So why are you headed to Alaska? I thought you wanted to kill Wesker and Umbrella staff?", the Intern asked, "They made it sound like you'd kill us all given the chance."

Telling her that what she said was accurate, the intern shivered in fear. Saying that they wouldn't kill her quite yet as she wasn't on the list of high profile targets. As a scientist though, she was partially responsible for this nightmare and would eventually need to face the consequences. For now though, they were content leaving her alive so they could rest while she drove.

As for the Alaska part, Jill explained that their group initially wanted to strike Wesker while his forces engaged his son but that fell apart when they were in the forest. Telling them about stumbling across a weird zombie they mistook for a little girl, Lucy and Zero Two weren't convinced.

"How do you mistake a human child for one of those abominations?", Lucy questioned out of curiosity.

"Well...we heard what sounded like a child crying in the forest. When we approached her we found a hideous woman curled up in a ball. The moment our spotlight hit her, she went ballistic and started screaming like a banshee. Knowing that would attract enemies to us, we took off running and ran through a flock of crows...that was what fucked us over. The moment those crows squawked loudly, the whole forest came live with howls from the Undead and Demons.", Alice said reloading her pistol, "There must have been at least several thousand undead just laying around in that forest. Our team of twenty quickly dropped to just us as those damn things kept popping out of the ground swallow people whole."

"Jeez...I am sure glad we didn't have them following us.", the Intern said with relief, "I have had enough of Undead and Demons to last me a lifetime. My stupid mother had to tell me to work for Umbrella...I just wanted to be a freaking vet, but no...she had to have a daughter working for Umbrella. I should have put my foot down, and said no!"

Laughing at her reaction, they all thought it was funny. Stopping her laughter when she sensed something approaching from behind them, she turned to see what it was. Seeing several aerial enemies gliding down at them, Lucy gave them an annoyed look.

"If I were you, I'd put the pedal down. We have company.", she stated bisecting several flying undead.

---Alaska Base, Unimak Island---

Having handed over the schematics to the Black Label Team, I barely got my mouth open to explain what they were before the scientists snatched the blueprints and slammed the door in my face. Ever since they automated production of the critical medicines we used regularly, they had been bored out of their minds. Giving them something new to work on was probably what they needed to get our of their funk. The variety of weapons and power sources they had now, we would soon be in business for kicking some Demon and Undead ass.

"How rude them.", Saya sighed approaching me with a smile, "The least they could have done is said thank you, their reaction was a bit much."

"Meh, if they can deliver on what I gave them I can forgive them.", I chuckled, "Do we have a status update from the Field Teams? I had my comm off during the meeting."

"Maya and Saeko have already taken care of a small horde that was coming our way. I have to say, I didn't know Saeko's laugh was that creepy...did you know it sounds like she is a serial killer?", Saya shivered, "The other groups are clearing new territory now and found more survivors. They are joining up, and returning to base."

"That's good to hear.", I replied, "As for the laugh, that is about what I would expect given the situation. She really enjoys fighting after all, it's like second nature to her."

"Wait...you are saying you knew?", Saya questioned, "She isn't going to kill us in our sleep right?"

"Of course I knew about it, she is my girlfriend and no she won't kill anyone. I find that part of her very attractive, and I trust her judgment without question.", I stated with a smile, "I love your quirks just as much as hers."

"Oh, and what exactly are some of my quirks?", Saya huffed with a smirk.

"You like to be competitive in a mental tasks, and enjoy being right. If you are wrong or out done you puff your cheeks, and act like a tsundere. In fact, you do it a lot when someone fawns over you.", I teased, "For example, the year I bought you your necklace you slapped me in the face remember? What was it you told me...you didn't think it looked cute, yet you have worn it everyday since."

"I don't have the slightest idea what you mean!", she stated trying hard not to smile, "I never said that, you must be remembering things wrong. Also, I don't remember slapping you at all...it's always been you smacking my butt!"

Giving her a kiss on the lips, I smacked her butt playful making her moan softly before glaring at me. Apologizing for that, I asked if anything else came up while I was away. Saying Saori had made me some tea, she also handed me a USB stick.

"Jeong got some encrypted messages from South America. Someone saying they are your half brother?", Saya told me unsure if it was true, "I don't remember you saying you had a half brother. Since when have you had one?"

"I don't...not that I am aware of.", I replied, "I know who would know though."

--Home---

Pulling Red Queen off of what she was doing, I sat her down and asked if I had a half-brother. Nodding her head, she informed me that I did in fact have an older half-brother through Wesker. Telling me that it was a child that Wesker was unaware of, she told me that they lost track of him after his mother returned to her home country pregnant. As they lived in a poor area, the amount of tracking they could do on him was extremely limited.

"It was only when he started doing mercenary work that we relocated him.", Red Queen acknowledged, "You were the superior candidate for humanity's survival so we minimized our involvement with him."

"So then why is he reaching out to me from South America?", I inquired, "Is something going on down there?"

"Based on the last information we have from the area, he was leading a military group to capture one of the bases down there. Most of them have been offline since the initial start of the outbreak so we don't know what happened to the staff. There is a strong chance he found something down there that you need to be made aware of.", Red Queen told me, "It may have something to do with the plants Umbrella was working on. Some of them were weaponized, a scientist thought they could be used to kill people stealthily."

'You have to be fucking me, this isn't Plants vs Zombies!!', I thought, "Have been able to decrypt the files?"

"Already done.", Saya said with a proud smile.

"Victor, here is your tea.", Saori told me brining it over, "Astrid made some cookies as well to go with the tea."

"Thank you two for your hard work.", I praised them with a smile, "I am going to get a few people, and then we are going to watch this."

Bringing Jane, Claire, and Ada over to view it, in case they had knowledge on the subject, the Royals ended up following us. Rushing inside, the Royals wandered around our home like it was the Ritz Hotel. While they explored I explained the situation to the three women, and asked my lovers to prepare some refreshments. Once everyone was settled in I went ahead, and played the messages.

"Hello Victor, we haven't had the chance to meet but I am your half brother Jake. I doubt you know anything about me as like you, our bastard father abandoned us to suit his own goals. We grew up in different worlds, but we share a common goal...killing our father.", he said with a serious look, "I am reaching out to you now as I heard that you turned out to be a badass in the field. Many people I am with have seen what you are capable of, and they want to help you reach Raccoon City to end this. While I might not be able to help you personally, I have information that can help you."

Pulling up a very old map of the area Raccoon City sat on, he pointed to an old coal mine that have been abandoned for over a century. Explaining that the aerial defenses around the HQ would tear our people apart before getting close, he suggested using old mineshafts to get in. One of them actually happened to connect to a maintenance closet in the basement. There was only a few feet of concrete separating the shaft from the room.

"I am bringing this to you now as we managed to capture several Umbrella Agents that reported Wesker intends to start crushing human settlements no matter how small they may be.", Jake stated with a serious look, "You already probably realize this, but humanity is putting a lot of faith in you Little Bro. Don't be a dick like our old man, haha!! Anyways, hopefully I can buy you a drink once he is killed."

Seeing the files he wanted to give me on the drive, I smiled happy that my half brother wasn't an ass like our Dad. I had been worried that he might hate me given the circumstances, but fortunately he recognized that I was fucked over like him. Having Saya pull the files off the USB I printed out the documents and started to go over them. Flipping through the pages to memorize the information, I handed them over to Kyoko so she could log the information.

"Does this change your plans?", Gwen asked with a curious look.

"Yes, it gives us a better method for getting in.", I told her rubbing my chin, "It also gives us another method to attack Umbrella."

"Meaning?", Ada inquired.

"Well if this map is accurate, there are several mineshafts that would have needed reinforcement to support Raccoon City. If we took out the support pillars...theoretically we could collapse HQ and detonate the weapons they have stored there.", I told them.

"Did someone say explosives!!", Oriha shouted bursting in the front door.

"I am starting to thinking you only live and breath explosives.", Maya laughed stepping in behind her.

"If that was meant as an insult, I take it as a badge of pride. There are few things more exhilarating than blowing stuff up. I live for the rush the pressure wave gives you when you are hit by it.", Oriha told her with a playful smile, "So Victor, what are we blowing up?"

"How about I get you caught up first, then talk explosives.", I chuckled.

"See you understand too!", she said jumping on my lap, "So what's the 411?"

"I haven't heard that phrase in a long time.", Yuko laughed, "Where did you hear it?"

"Some cartoon Victor had in his...his storage crate.", Oriha replied stopping herself from revealing my secret.

"Alright, let me get you up to speed.", I stated going over the map with them.
