"Wh-what kind of deal?" Oliver spoke as if words were stuck in his throat.
"Hmm, why don't we just sit and talk? There is nothing to be scared of. I won't bite unless you provoke me." Kristen laughed as he sat down in the majestic couch with legs over other.
Oliver's eyes travelled around the whole room in search of a loop hole to escape from the situation. He clearly does not want to get involved with Kristen because he is a devil... he knows what has to be done to bring down people. He is much stronger and smarter than anyone else in the pack so his need would be equally problematic.
"Listen Kristen, I would not let you shame me in front of my pack." Oliver decided to change his way of talk to act bolder hoping Kristen would step back.
"Ohh, is this a threat? Should I be scared?" Kristen asked while falling on his knees with eyes pinned on the other man's face and hands folded together like pleading.
"What are you doing?" Oliver asked looking at the boy kneeling in front of them.
"I am scared." Kristen trembled again.
Oliver soon understood that the boy was acting scared just to piss him off and that definitely did it's work. Oliver frowned at the boy who was in his knees and changed his focus to the champagne.
"Celebrating victory with your slut right after throwing your wife from the kingdom." Kristen said with stress visible in each word as he stood up.
"I didn't do anything. She is punished for her faults and as an Alpha, I stood by my pack and didn't show mercy towards her." Oliver scoffed while pouring the drink to his glass.
"Stop with your acts, Oliver. I know you very well so why do you still try this little innocent game with me?"
Oliver was getting annoyed and scared at the same time because Kristen is a Beta. He was supposed to be the Alpha according to the lineage but Lia chose Oliver over Kristen making him take a huge leap to be the Alpha, the leader of the pack. Obviously Kristen was more powerful, he had more skills and inborn strengths, he had greater knowledge and privilege's than Oliver.
"Okay so what is your demand? What do you want to keep this shit a secret." Oliver accepted his defeat as he knows provoking Kristen is like choosing death.
"Before I tell you that, why don't you just tell me the reason why you got Lia expelled. I want to see if you are capable of completing my need."
"That has nothing to do with you Kristen. It was our personal matter and I am sure, your need wouldn't be any problem to me." Oliver assured while taking a seat next to the boy.
"Do you think, I am that simple? You just cheated on your wife so how can I trust you?"
"That was something between us and as I said, that doesn't define my power and courage. If you are not going to spit it out, please take leave." Oliver groaned in annoyance as he chucked down his champagne.
"What about the hidden rule? I want you to break the rule." Kristen smirked knowing how much of a big deal that was.
"Wh-what? Are you in your senses?" Oliver asked as his eyes almost popped out of the socket.
"Scared? The future Alpha is scared?" Kristen laughed aloud, holding his stomach.
"SHUT UP KRISTEN! THIS IS NOT FUNNY." Oliver shouted as he lost his last brain cell.
"Don't be so loud... you will catch the attention of other's and it wouldn't do any good for you. I am on the safe side because I am not greedy like you. She chose you over me and yet you had to go this cheap." Kristen growled while pulling Oliver's collar.
"Leave me out of this, I didn't do anything to you. And just forget our conversation." Oliver kept struggling under the strong grip knowing he can't ever win against Kristen.
"Then agree to break the hidden rule. I am sure only you, me and Lia knows about it apart from the King and Queen."
"That would be the end of almost everything especially mine." Oliver protested.
"That's not my concern. Do it or be ready to witness my wrath." Kristen smiled while snatching the champagne glass from Oliver.
"What is wrong with you Kristen? Why do you want to break that bloody rule?"
Kristen didn't answer his question verbally instead he pointed at something which was across the room. Oliver's eyes followed the direction of his fingers which finally landed on something which was least expected. Kristen smiled at the pointed direction making Oliver gulp hard.
"Wh-what?"
"This man needs to come down. He is no longer eligible to stay in that position. " Kristen muttered eyes penetrating the painting.
"You literally want to bring down the King for what so ever reason you have and for that, you need me to break the rule?" Oliver asked again.
"Or should I break it myself and blame it on you like you did to Lia?"
Oliver knew Kristen wouldn't take a step back in this matter as he literally exposed the need. Now even if Oliver rejects the deal, there would be no much difference because it was like a trap. He looked back at the man who was sipping the champagne with a grin plastered on his face.
"See, we have no idea what the outcome would be. It is like a trade game, it can come right back at us."
"To get something so valuable, we need to make sacrifices and my sacrifice was supposed to be you." Kristen chuckled.
"You want me to die for bringing down the king? You want to transfer the power to some mythical creature and destroy all this? You are so much more worse than me."
"There has to be someone who can control the spell better than you and me. The only to find that one from our pack is this." Kristen snorted while glaring at the painting.
