Is what he thought of right after seeing the window which said that he was chosen. After the window disappeared, he could check his status, a game like system, was what was right in front of his eyes. And the window displayed;

Aurel was surprised, because apparently when oneself is chosen, you start without passive skills and just one active skill, and after slaying monsters and gaining XP, you would automatically get skills. But Aurel possessed a bunch of active skills which are weirdly good, and a passive skill which no one but him possesed. "The Memory Of The Darkest Knight", is what it's called. And right after reading the name, Aurel recalled the memories of his past life.
Aurel lived once on earth, with no ties to anyone, however, one day he was suddenly summoned to a fantasy world which they called as "Fantaso". It was just like the RPG type games known to mankind, undiscovered lands, bound to magic and thrilling adventures is what he thought he was beholding, but he couldn't be more wrong. Instead of being summoned as a hero, he was summoned as the Darkest Knight, the right hand of the Demon Lord.
He was thrilled, however as time passed he acknowledged that the country of demons were honorable and just people, never bothering anyone nor waging useless wars. Aurel was summoned because the country needed development in various aspects, therefore he was treated as a noble, all while fixing national affairs, training martial arts and magic. He found love, had a family and lived happily for a while.
However the appearance of the Heroes from the human, elf and beastkin continents ended that happiness. Even Gray, who was the strongest, couldnt overpower the might of the heroes. The war initiated by the humans was lost. Gray`s son got killed, his wife got sexually abused, sold as a slave and ultimately met her demise.
The Demon Lord got defeated. And the heroes who were brainwashed and tricked by the other countries, were betrayed by their supposed comrades and met their death right after defeating the Lord of Darkness and his most trusted Dark Knight. But no one thought that Gray would have a second chance given by th gods.
Aurel, who has now awakened, swore revenge on the whole world of Fantaso once again, he steeled himself even more, and his bloodbathed journey was about to start.
