I stared at the huge mansion in front of me. I wasn't supposed to be here. I was supposed to be at the studio. Or surrounded by ladies all trying to get my attention. But here I stood, about to make the most annoying and unwilling decision I've ever made.
Who would have thought that the almighty Alex Callaghan would be getting married because of a damn contract. Or even getting married at all.
I sighed and followed my parents behind as we entered the house. It was huge with an exquisite interior.
Mr Myers..oh I mean my soon father in-law came down with his wife and shook hands with my parents. He turned to me and I greeted showing off a cold look incase he planned on saying more than he had said.
I guessed it worked when he nodded and ushered us to a seat. We sat down and he faced my parents. I just sighed and tried to speak at intervals. But after a while, I just sat quietly and waited for my bride to come.
I looked up the stairs and thankfully I saw her coming downstairs. She wore a pale pink body hug sleeveless gown . It stopped at her knees with a slit on the right leg to her mid thighs.
Her hair was packed up in a messy bun. Her facial features were incomparable. Her eyes were almond shaped with long and thick lashes, a pointed nose and red lips I would have thought were lipsticks if I didn't know better.
I've been with so many girls to know real and fake lips. But her's were real. She wore no makeup but everything was well arranged on her oval shaped face. She had the shape of a model just her hips were a little wider.
Wait! What was I doing?. I should not be staring at her. I didn't want this. I would never want this if not for the company. I've done a lot for the company to just let it go. I wouldn't be here if father hadn't threatened me with the company.
For so many years I've managed and helped run the company well even with my passion in music. And then suddenly when I'm supposed to take over fully, I needed a wife by my side. How ridiculous and highly annoying. I barely stopped myself from rolling my eyes.
She sat down beside me and greeted my parents. They replied and my mom's eyes beamed. Why was she so excited?
"Oh, she's such a beauty" she said. "I bet she would make the perfect wife".
The 'girl' smiled and thanked her. Then Mr Myers stood up.
"Okay to not waste anymore time, we'll leave you to talk and get to know each other" he said and left with my parents.
I shifted my gaze and stared at her to see her looking down while gently fiddling with her necklace.

Elaine
I gently fiddled with my necklace while looking down. Why did they have to leave us alone. I was so nervous. I was sitting with Alex Callaghan! I was sitting with my soon to be husband!!
He kept quiet and didn't say anything. I lifted my eyes and found him staring at me. Uhh!! I gathered enough courage and cleared my throat.
"Hi, I'm Elaine" I said and stretched my hand to him. He took it and shook it lightly.
"And I'm assuming you already know who I am" he said in a slightly deep voice.
What!! Was he seriously saying that. Oh I forgot he was rude. I smiled and nodded.
"Can I ask you something?"he asked suddenly.
"Yes, sure" I replied wondering what he was about to say.
"Did you give your consent to this?" he asked surprising me. Why was he asking that. Was he trying to test me? Will he refuse me if I said no? I didn't want to cause Mom and Dad more stress.
I nodded. "Yes, I did" I said and he nodded. What on earth was he thinking.

I knew it! She gave her consent. I wasn't in anyway surprised. Who would refuse getting married to me. All girls were the same anyways.
I took a deep breath." I guess we're done here then" I said and she nodded. I stood up and started walking outside and she followed. I got out and saw our parents sitting under a shade.
They were still discussing when I got to them and they stared at me.
"We're done. We can leave now" I said and my dad nodded. He stood up and exchanged words with Elaine's parents. Then my mom walked up to Elaine who stood behind me.
"I can't wait for the wedding. I hope you got everything you need?" She asked her.
"Yes" Elaine nodded.
She smiled and looked at Mrs Myers and they started walking towards the car. Finally!!.

Elaine
I stared at myself in the mirror. It was really happening. It was my wedding day.
In few hours, I'll be married. I'll be a married woman. I was already prepared and sat staring at my reflection in the mirror.
I could hardly recognize myself. The gown was designed with tiny diamond stones which glittered. It was an off shoulder gown hugging my body from my chest to my mid thighs. The rest flowed on the floor. My hair was packed up and designed with tiny hair pins. Then a veil was attached.
The door opened and my mom stepped in.
"Com'on, it's time". She said smiling. I stood up quietly and followed her out.
