Chapter 11 - A Carriage? A Mount? No, It’s A Flying Sword!

After they had left the sentry named Yakar, the captain asked Dracs.

"Young Master, are you sure? In my opinion these sects are nothing good, they are secretive and powerful and rule the kingdom from the dark. In their eyes we are nothing but livestocks to fill the ranks."

The captain couldn't hide his anxiousness but Dracs was resolute. Without knowledge, his path was stuck and his life was useless. As a half system, it was the fuel of his life, information and knowledge were all he needed.

"Captain, this guy was right, you need to be more careful, what a Young Master like me can do but return to the Clan and pay his respects to all these revered people? Don't spew anymore bulshit, keep that in mind, I need to evaluate the situation myself."

The middle aged man was not so happy with this rebuke but he could only accept it silently.

They resumed their walk and soon arrived before the entrance of the Akran Clan. It was a big valley topped with successive plateaus. The sight was magnificent, colorful fields as far as the eye can see filled this place from east to west. To the north, clear waterfalls shone brightly under the sunshine.

You could see villages everywhere in the far distance, but of course it was the main area that was the most impressive spot. Tall pagodas and rows of buildings were aligned beautifully. The Akran Clan was not a joke, it was a rich and influential Clan of the River Dragon Kingdom.

With his millions of people and thousands cultivators it was one the four Great Clan. But even a clan as powerful couldn't compete with the power of the major sects, their roots were too deep and unfathomable and reached up to the capital.

On their way, the captain got back to his formal attitude, he was leading the way in front of Dracs like a soldier protecting an important figure, but he was annoyed by the many questioning looks that people have toward them.

But it seemed to be a long way before they could reach the main area so Dracs couldn't restrain himself from contacting the Ancestor telepathically. It was literally his first time doing so since the old man left the forest of the yellow fish river.

"Old man Jikoudian Akran, are you sleeping? I bet you are not, with those Sect Elders in your Clan right now. Can you send a fast carriage, a mount or somehting to my position? I'm too lazy to walk for days and also too excited to reunite with my family, ahah."

It wasn't long before the old man answered.

"Senior Dracs… do you think that I'm the chairman of a carriage company?!"

The Ancestor replied.

"Is my family so lazy that they are ignoring their third young master?"

"Senior Dracs, this… you can only blame my son, the actual patriarch. He is as rigid and boorish as a stone… Hmm.. And as a Guest Elder in the Thunderous Flying Tiger sect, his status is remarkable." The Ancestor said with a hint of pride.

"Good, good… And for my transport to the city?" Dracs asked shamefully.

"You... do it by yourself!" He shouted in anger!

"Ancestor…"

"No way!"

"Old Jikoudian Akran…"

"I don't hear anything, I'm going to sleep to preserve my lifeforce."

"I can still hear you so I can still speak too." He said while smiling.

In an ice chamber, deep under the surface of Akran city, an old man opened his eyes, his mouth was twisted in an ugly smile and after a short moment he coughed consecutively two large mouthfuls of blood!

He couldn't shut his senses at all! No matter what he did, the devil continued spouting nonsense without pause in his head, it was a real torture!

Still, he tried to ignore this devil's voice but after long minutes the buzzing sound only intensified and became unbearable!

So to end this, he rushed to the surface and retrieved a sword the length of his palm from his spacering and without the slightest hesitation he threw it right away toward the direction of the nuisance!

"Senior Dracs, please, enough, I already sent you a flying sword!"

At this moment Dracs was surprised but also relieved. In fact he had really hoped to obtain something because the journey had already been long enough and he was bored to death.

He felt the system was so dry that it would surely start to bug at any moment! Or maybe it was just him who was in need of social interactions.

Fortunately, he didn't have to wait for long before a fast and shining thing that was flying throughout the sky landed directly to his location, piercing the ground only two inches away from his feet!

The flying sword made a humming and beautiful sound. It had really impressive features, this sword was as wide as a man's waist and as long as a man's height.

But what was the most eye-catching part was without doubt its shining silver wings that were waving gently on both sides.

The captain was utterly shocked and looked dumbfounded at the mighty sword.

"Young Master! Where does this magnificent sword come from?"

He then looked around carefully before whispering.

"Don't tell me… it's your doing right?"

Dracs was really pleased and replied in laughing.

"How could it be my doing? It's a gift from my esteemed Ancestor of course!"

He then gestured discreetly to dismiss further questions from the curious and excited middle aged man. This captain was more and more difficult to deal with… His discipline seemed to be lacking.

Dracs was too lazy to use telepathy so he just said.

"Captain, isn't this beautiful flying sword awesome? The problem is that 'I' have never used one and with my 'powers' it could be tricky, you know? Could you use it and get us to Akran City?"

Dracs gave the captain a stern face.

The latter seemed to understand that something was amiss so he didn't question his Master. So he said.

"Theoretically, it's really simple, I can sense that this flying sword is not bound, so you just need to use your Qi to make it fly. But of course, I strongly suggest you let me control it in case something unexpected happens." he said with a solemn expression.

Dracs nodded in approval.

"Alright, Captain, but don't forget that this sword was lent to me by my Ancestor, you better be careful with it!" Dracs said, playing his Young Master's role to his best.

"I will be very careful." He said while bowing his head.

Inside himself, he felt so excited that it was nearly impossible to conceal!

He then took a deep breath and released a bit of his Qi toward the sword, but soon, he furrowed his eyebrows because of the pressure emitted by the sword and sweat began to appear on his forehead. But after a couple seconds he was finally able to control the sword, making it fly majestically above the ground.

He didn't wait for long and jumped on it, he then gestured for Dracs to imitate him and that's what the latter did.

But no sooner had he climbed on the flying sword than he began to cross-legged leisurely.

The captain didn't mind him at all and just started flying a couple meters above the ground in the direction of Akran City.

Their speed wasn't fast in comparison to the abilities of the captain and the sword but it was at least two times the speed of a galopped horse. It was also comfortable enough to enjoy the landscape, golden fields, green plateaus, and clear rivers…

It didn't take them much time to arrive in front of the city, but they bypassed by the east and went directly in the direction of the Clan's headquarters.

The captain began the descent and came to meet the guards posted before the main gate.

They then jumped off the flying sword and Dracs made it disappear in his inventory with a simple gesture of his hand in front of the dumbfounded guards!

But it didn't take long before these two experienced warriors regained their composure and saluted energetically the new arrivants

"Third Young Master, Captain!" They both shouted in unison, bowing and saluted.

The captain looked at them seriously before nodding and saluted back.

"Good, Young Master Taidian has been out for a long time and needs to report to Lord Koudian Akran."

The two men looked at each other anxiously before one of them decided to speak.

"We haven't had news of the Lord since a while. Rumors say that he went into seclusion but it can't be confirmed. Sorry to not be able to help you Young Master, this lowly servant waits to receive his punishment!"

The both of them kowtowed right on the spot!

Dracs didn't expect this kind of reaction but it was something he would have to bear with for the time being or his cover would be seen through. But he was definitely not happy with that.

Fortunately, the captain seemed to have felt his confusion so he didn't lose time and said.

"Young Master Taidian just arrived! How can you dare ask for a punishment! Stand up right now and get back to your job, I will personally come to discipline you when the time comes. " The captain said with a chill in his voice, making his poor soldiers tremble slightly.

The two soldiers hurried up and got back to the gate and one of them shouted loudly.

"Open the gate! Third Young Master Taidian Akran and the Captain of the Guard have returned!"
